They've taken away all the water effects; the pouring water that comes down over the stage at the opening and the mist over the audience to make it feel like you're underwater. It's a shame, they really added to the illusion of being "under the sea". Still a favourite though.

I don't like how the song "Kiss the Girl" wasn't used in this show. And personaly I think using footage from the movie is cheating because they aren't making anything from scratch. I do like how the puppets in "Under the Sea" are designed, they look very Jim Henson like.

No offense and this is only in regards of my opinion alone, but this show needs a modern refurbishment. Think about all of the possibilities and new technological advancements they can use for this show!! Disney just needs to give it a chance.

The "Under The Sea" song was perfect and everything went like it was supposed to but then when Ariel came out and started singing when she says "How manys ones when once ever told" after she says that the audio abruptly shuts off and song stops and Arial just sits there flapping her tail and just sits there for like a minute not saying a word and then the lights above her turn off and her rock turns around and she goes back and then the person on the loudspeaker says "We apologize for the inconvience. The Voyage Of The Little Mermamid show will be temporarily cancelled and wil not continue at this time due to technical difficulties and issues with the audio. Please exit the stage and be sure to check out our showtimes for different shows you wish to see instead. Have a happy and memorable rest of your day." And we were really disappointed because we really wanted to see the whole thing but we can always watch it next time! 😀
I know how. At 15:07 she places her right hand behind her waist. She does this to unhook the costume fin. The lighting and mist effects makes it look like it is disappearing when it is falling off of her.
she's standing on a mechanical lift. It pushes her up. the fin drops down in the hole right in front of her. the lift allows her to rise up far enough for the fin to drop in the hole. when the lift is lowered, the fin drapes over. Once it rises it up it is able to get into position to drop down without landing on the stage. It's magical. I only figured it out after seeing a video where the fin didn't unhook correctly.
I hope they don’t get rid of this show! I know they felt too much on grainy film clips, but add another two scenes, get Ariel and new wig, and just keep swimming, Disney!
I can't believe this show is still there. Not really a fan of this thing, other than the puppetry during the "Under the Sea" bit. I could happily watch an hour-long show of day-glow Bunkaru puppetry like that.

Saw this a couple months ago Ursula is huge and the whole show is great and we got to I think get to go in there first for our seats because my mom was in a wheelchair she broke her ankle she's ok now but my litttle being the devil child that he is instead of sitting in the back with a good view he wanted the sit closer and let me just tell you he sat between a family and then me and him had to move to another seat and he hit me and called me stupid five year olds
