"You don't want a letdown, when you put your foot down".
This commercial is describing my 2018 F150!
This was shortly before the name change to Exxon.
That could be but I believe it was a sports game on New Year's Day.
I'd like to know how gasoline is going to fix a problem caused by the fuel mixture momentarily being too lean.
Indeed!
No. It was Esso in the eastern U.S. and Enco in the central and western U.S. Both brands were superceded by Exxon nationwide later that year.,
Mark Potter And Humble and Carter.
perhaps aired during the weekend edition to NBC Nightly news, right?
Who's the narrator for this spot? I remember him from when i was a kid, and it seems I remember this particular ad.
It may be Len Gochman but I'm not certain.
@@BionicDisco I think it's either Bob Kaliban or Russel Horten.
@@kurttoy5035 Appreciate the info. Thank you.
ENCO states: Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. All others were ESSO including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, District of Columbia, etc. and NO representation of either brand in Kansas, Missouri, Alaska or Hawaii.
Also "Humble" in Ohio.
"Humble" was once used in the Southwest, but by 1961, was being used only in Ohio
And puerto rico also was now TOTAL
@@kmart3697 - French oil company Total bought Esso Standard Oil de PR assets in 2006 after the Acevedo-Vilá administration didn't pay Exxon U$1.05 Mln owed from fuel and services to official cars, including police cars and fire fighter trucks.
Esso Standard Oil de PR was established in 1895 (PR was still a Spanish territory) in the Old Port of San Juan to sell Kerosene (what the old people here called "Gas" for their oil lamps for individuals and street lighting).
Total kept that Commonwealth contract to this day (May, 2020)...
PS: Esso's Island main office was in a 2-story building in the San Patricio Plaza (between Guaynabo and the western border of San Juan) parking lot and was demolished for a modern Total station...
ok thanks
and then Esso and then later Enco became Exxon a year later which is still Exxon today too!
The HIGH LEVELS OF LEAD is the cause of poor engine performance
Which is ironic because lead was developed to stop engine knock.
