Whole Plant Harvest Simplicity
Many growers prefer to whole plant harvest simply because it is easy and does not require a detailed or attentive eye.
Especially for larger operations that may have a variety of people harvesting this is a very standardized approach and is simple for everyone to follow the same process.
Cut the entire plant down, transport and repeat.
One Pass Through
With whole plant harvesting growers also do not have to return to the planting site.
This can allow for better timing of the flushing process along with the removal of irrigation equipment.
In addition if a block of plants is removed then this area can be cleaned right after harvest to prepare it for the following steps as an entire area.
For outdoor locations this could be getting a cover crop planted
For indoor locations this could be cleaning and sterilizing the area to get ready for another round of plants.
Whole Plant Harvest = Whole Plant Dry
With the removal of the entire plant this allows the entire plant to dry at the same time.
Since there is a lot of plant material this can often mean a slower drying process which some prefer.
Making Concentrates?
If the end product of the harvest is concentrates, than a whole plant harvest is advised since the optimum ripeness does not need to be as exact for each individual bud.
Indoor Whole Plant Harvesting
Indoor growers have it easier since they can control the environment around the plant and can time the exact harvest day/time weeks in advance in some cases.
Outdoor Growers Have More Challenges
For large scale growers taking the plant at once saves time, labor and money.
Be aware of the weather, wet and cold temperatures and increase the odds of disease (ex. Bud rot) developing in the flowers
Removing the plants as a whole reduces potential disease spread to other plants in the growing area

I love this guy's production 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love the 12/12 rating from the viewers!
WOAH ! Impressive plant
This is true not only of the ones in the pictures but just in general.
Doc…. My southern New England outdoor plants are almost all bigger and wider and head full than that example. Love the show. Kudos

Great to hear, hope you have a full harvest!
Tall is cool but why not train it low and wide. For easy access to all the Bud! 💚🌱
Training takes time and labor.
@@DeBaccoUniversity I'm talking about a personal grow, you know stash for a year!? 💚🌱

Thanks for noticing and while this can not be kept up forever, enjoy it while you have it;-)
Indoor growers: Consider watering without fertilizer for a week and then not watering the last week before harvest. The water clean out helps product burn more cleanly with the fertilizer residual used up. The lack of water stresses the plant and boosts crystalization. These plants are easy to trim and dry well without losing the pungent smell to the smell of hay.
Supplement HPS during flowering with T8 or something.
Remove alternate five fingered leaves from the main stalk to improve flowering and reduce stalk development. The trim out yield on many videos appears impaired by the failure to remove at least the first four five-fingered leaves from the trunk.
The lack of water for the week before harvest seems to be a bit long of a duration and would likely be considered as part of the drying time.
Consider it part of the 'finishing' time of blooming phase. The dehydration stresses the plant the end is near and additional sugar crystals will develop.
@@markpiersall9815you could also stress it by overwatering
you are in new england too neat. i live here too
There are more than a few people in this geographic location;-)
I am sure it would be more efficient but I can’t imagine cutting my 8 ft tall by 8 ft diameter plant with a 6 inch diameter stem & being able to pick it up whole!
You may need mechanical assistance with that plant... good problem to have;-)
Same issue , not a bad thing
I've been hearing people saying to wash the plants after harvest to remove dirt, insects, and other pollutants. I looked through your videos and didn't see this addressed in any. What are your thoughts on washing plants?
Keep the plants clean and washing is not needed.
How do you get only one massive strand/bud, as in video...from South Africa
Prune side branches off and ensure good light at the top.
I tried this with a whole tree last year and after about a week of hanging there was ZERO drying accomplished. I had to break it down conventionally.
Oversized dehumidifier, or simply more dehumidifiers should help.
Can I grow in a bathroom? I'm asking for a friend.
Technically yes, but this is typically used for the propagation or cloning procedures since it is the easiest to keep sterile and clean.
GOD, literally the MOST powerful being loves you and wants you with Him so if you ever feel unloved and or unwanted God loves you and wants you have a good day or night, God loves yall a lot

Remember after harvest the dry and cure process is also very important.
WHY would anybody(anything) mark out OH NO---this planet has some very STRANGE people(Monkees)
Half the population is below average.... the other half is above average;-)
@@DeBaccoUniversity Based on their (Runinfox) inability to convey information in their writing, and their spelling, I am going with the less than category.
You said cut the Plant---OH NO-- DIG plant Up and hang WITH ROOTS(covered where drying dirt does not fall down and get on sticky Buds. Actually splitting(tearing) Each Branch where it meets main stalk so Plant IS Injured/Dying PUT Grow Light Underneath and let cure with grow light a few days SO Plants Roots will create More/stronger THC to Keep Plant alive(as it is curing) Higher % for all buds-possible stronger smell(LOVE that Smell them there sweet spices
If soil gets on the buds it can lead to contaminated which is why cutting the plant is the recommended method.
@@DeBaccoUniversity THANKS for reply--Yes---you should still do experiment with One plant--WHAT I SAID--you may find Two different plants YOU MUST leave roots to Dry out and Produce More/stronger/higher-even more potent smell--EXPERIMENT and the MOTHER will Repay YOU
Do you guys know about our lord and savior Jesus Christ, He died on the Cross and rose again 3 days later for all of our sins, and when he comes back He's gonna come back like a thief in the night meaning we are not gonna know when He comes back so please repent and turn GOD, before it's to late so you don't go to hell, it's a terrible place
Merry Christmas!
