  • Do you want to warm up for volleyball by playing one of the most fun games there is? Try this simple game everyone can play during volleyball training. It is played with a net, a ball and a hoop. Try not to get too competitive ;-)
4 years since my last video. I have missed sharing with all of you. I hope you enjoy this one!
COVID-19 Warning - This video was shot before the coronavirus pandemic became a part of everyone's life. Don't actually try this game with other people until the conditions to do so are safe again. I hope we'll all be back on court soon.

I noticed in your demonstration at the start of the video, there was only 1 hoop per group, and each player would have to run under the net to get the hoop. In the second (official) demonstration, each player had their own. Wondering why they were different and which you prefer, and why! Thanks!

Joseph!!! You noticed!! I put that there on purpose and wanted to see if someone was going to pick it up. I didn't expect it to be so quick. I have another video coming where I demo the one-hoop version. I like both but using one hoop only is definitely more challenging on skills and fitness. Stay tuned for that other video

I want to know what would be the best way of improving my jump height for spiking.

Jump...seriously, if you want to get better at playing guitar, you will play more guitar. You want to jump higher, jump. Do it until you find your technique is smooth and make sure you get enough rest between jumping sessions. There is a lot more you can do using weight lifting but the most basic tip is just to jump

What is the purpose of the game?
What is to be trained with it?

To get a feeling on where the ball will touch the ground and where you have to stand to pass it. Espacially beginners have issues to See this or they will just don‘t move their feet and Go there. I’ve seen this on almost every young Player I‘ve trained! And for those, who know where to Go it‘s for learning to get exactly behind the ball, so That they pass where they want to pass to.
Also it teaches you to concentrate on More than the ball and still pass it correctly.

Exactly like Inana B said. It challenges the players to use their eyes to pick up the trajectory of the ball, then to move their feet to where they thing the ball will go, they have to bend down, then back up quickly further challenging their foot work. From there they need to transfer weight forward as they pass the ball which is the motion they need for passing free balls to the net. It is a fun game that gets players to further develop skills they need for volleyball without feeling like they are working on those skills. Plus, sometimes, players just want to have fun and that's a very fun game
