Brake pads wear out over time, much like tires, and need replacing, on average, every 50,000 miles, with variations depending on driving habits and environment. Brake rotors may also need to be replaced if they are warped or grooved. Often, it’s safer and more cost effective to replace pads and rotors at the same time. Squealing or grinding noises, or wheel vibration are all symptoms of worn brakes. This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ brake pads and rotors on your 2005- 2015 Nissan Xterra.

Everything seems so easy when you watch a video from a professional mechanic.
But when you don't have the right tools, it gets very complicated.
Rust and seized bolts are the biggest enemies of DIYers like me.
Thank you for this video which makes me want to try this repair, it is greatly appreciated.
The most straightforward and east-to-understand instructional video I have ever seen. I've done brake jobs in the past but it never looked this easy. Thanks for this great video. Kudos.
I used this and the rear brakes video to replace my pads and rotors all around. My first time ever doing a brake job. Very helpful guide as it's clear and concise.
It ended up taking me far longer than I hoped because of rust. If your Xterra is rusty and overdue for a brake job, the step where you just give the caliper brackets a quick wire brushing turns into heavy grinding, trying the pads for fit, followed by more grinding.
Followed each step and had no issues replacing my xterra's pads and rotors for the first time. Thank you for posting!
+Zuchury Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Great guide. Just did mine today. Needed a sledge to get the rotors off but after that it was pretty easy. Used some basic clamps I had to compress the calipers.
Was that truck underwater?
Good video, thank you for the socket size and tourq values as well 👍
Great video. Everything you need to get the job done without all the unnecessary details. Thank you!
Thank you for the parts list! Just did front and rear pads and rotors with the help of this guide. First time doing brakes too!
I always take the cap off the master cylinder before compressing the caliper
Finally a no-fluff video. MOST EXCELLENT. Thank you.
+Micah Rockwell Thanks for the feedback! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Awesome! I'm so glad the hub nut doesn't have to come off in order to pull the rotor
A video as we like them, it goes straight to the point. THANKS.
Good stuff, thanks. Just wrapped up the front rotor and pad replacements and referenced this video as I did. About to do the rear drum/rotors pads and shoes... any chance you've a similar walk through for the rear?
Nevermind... i just found the video I was inquiring about
Good video. Direct & to the point.
Ty, put a pad between the piston and clamp to avoid pressing it in unevenly. I damaged a caliper doing it wrong.
All that rust looked like barnacles on a ships hull.
Great, simple, how to.
👍
Throw away the keylock key. They are a pain when the lock key socket gets damaged.
Great video man but holy cow was that xterra found at the bottom of the sea ⛵ so much corrosion 😭
So do you need to bleed the brake line?
Great video, super simple, but that poor truck looks like it say daily duty in a salt mine its entire life.
Same for a Nissan Frontier 2011?
Awesome! Thank you!
where was this xterra the ocean?
Yours looks so pretty...mine looks like it came out of the dump.
You guys must be located in upstate NY. Lol
