This Guy Marvin Smitty Smith is Truly One Of My Drum Inspirations. He is such a Masterful Time Keeper and Drummer that he has My Mouth Open Each And Every Time he Pick up a Pair Of Sticks. Marvin Smitty Smith A Job Well Done.
Marvin Smitty Smith is the Real Deal !!! Always good to see the Champ at the kit making those Session Select's sound they way they should. Marvin Smitty Smith For President !!!!
What a talent!! He plays so relaxed and smooth, yet demonstrates power and speed, when it "serves the music". So musical, so tasteful. Yet, he never overplays, and is rock solid in keeping time. And has such a welcome, down to earth attitude. Pearl has so many great artists, and he is certainly one of them.
Session Studio Select is such a fantastic drum set. The price is something you can't beat, and the sound quality is extremely versatile. I will continue to support this line of kits as long as they exist (PLEASE BRING BACK MORE BLACK HALO GLITTER FINISHES!!!)
Although the man has plenty of chops to show, he's always searched for musicality first, as he well expressed with his own words and we all know it's true, he is one the best world-level masters. 👍🏼 P.S. This is a smockin' drumset...💪🏼
I have a circa 2003 Session Custom SRX. Sounds and looks beautiful- What a great kit that's been. If I ever get another kit a new Session is a top contender.
Alright, I'm done. You've sold me on this kit. I now see a Session Studio Select 10x7 12x8 14x14 16x16 22x16 in my near future, most likely in gloss natural birch with a matching 14x5.5 snare. Love the sound of these shells and how they can work for any style of music, which is exactly what I'm looking for with a kit. Please please please don't get rid of this lineup or the fantastic deal on this kit!!
A Show ?.. Try THEE Show !. Literally The Greatest Drumchair in the entire history of television. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy - who also happens to be one of The All Time Greats ! - " The Road Less Traveled " for sure !
Saxophonist Steve Coleman has worked with many past and present Pearl Artists... Gene Lake, Billy Hart, Sean Rickman, and that is Marvin Smitty Smith featured on Anatomy of a Groove by M-Base Collective.
There is an urban legend of a student at Berkeley ...who went into the drum practice rooms and suddenly heard the rapture of drums coming from one particular room . As he recalled it sounded like there were 5 drummers playing in the drum room ... as he stuck his head in .... it was The One And Only Marvin “Smitty “Smith ... practising !!!!! If there is one track that I would recommend any drum student to listen that personifies this man ..... it’s Pentacourse ..... on the Robin Eubanks album ...... KARMA !
Marvin is a gem on the Pearl roster. I love this and I'm happy to see you giving him a spotlight.
SMIIITAAAAAAY!!! 😃🏆 LOVE this dude, man. Definitely on my heroes list 💙
