Hope Jamie gets his Curse out occasionally and keeps developing it as well. Understandable he built a Honda so he didn't have to fight with it and just go fast but seeing this car must be nice for him and gives him some ideas depending on how far he really wants to take it. Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for dropping this video, still watching.
My buddy Morgan Rickard was the first to run a FT on his SRT-4 back in 2016 or 2017 My black one was setup to be the second one but I ended up changing setups and never installed my setup but mine will be this season coming up. Bradley Dillon is on FT now too
I've been a fan of the neon srt4 since they came out, absolutely loved seeing this.. just HAVE to say something though, loved that shout out to Wonder Women 5:11 on the screen LOL Brent's so good with the dyno, hes drawing pictures LMAO
Shawn is one super employee and is one of the nicest people out there. With that said, I'm hoping for Christmas you will get him a decent haircut, and no, him getting a perm is not acceptable. Love all you guys
The crank and cam sensors can always be so touchy on the neon/srt platform. If the sensors aren’t mopar they are pretty well known to cut ignition. Glad to see it was just that simple to fix.
I remember being 12yrs old and seeing SRT4 NEON in Midnight Club 3 DUB edition I thought they were so cool my aunt had a regular orange Neon but good on Jamie actually making one fast.
1:40 I really liked this part with you going over the little individual parts. It's not much time added to the video but it's a nice addition, like watching an educational show or something. You're a real car guy man.
Always love a nicely done srt4! It's nice to see people showing the struggle that can go into building/ tuning/ or anything with a car that we can all relate to! Too often people act like it's always effortless and problems never happen
Once again quickly blown away with the number of issues you find and resolve during your tuning sessions. After working out the bugs, it didn't take long for that srt4 to absolutely shred the dyno. Happy Christmas PFI fam. Thank you for being you 🎄
Glad to know you'll have all the trick parts I'll need for my build on your website. Now I know where to order from. Can't wait to see this thing rip! I wanna de stroked setup baaaad.
Bradley was on stock ecu when it was last out. It is currently being rebuilt and I believe it will be on fuel tech this time when it hits the track. Hopefully very soon.
@@boostinturbskee5385 ah alright. I know he had a guy flown out to do the wiring harness for the fuel tech a few years ago. Maybe he changed back. I know he's working on his new chassis and just dropped it off to have it finished so hopefully he'll be out soon. I need to get my srt moving again soon, I haven't done anything with it in years and have tons of parts waiting to go in it.
Our cylinder head don't flow as well as Honda heads so we're limited on timing at 40psi+ however, the 2.4 makes great tq to make up for the hp difference
As a owner of two Srt4’s and the fact that Jamie and the curse is what brought me to this channel, this vid made me sooooooo happy. We need more people to see what the platform is capable of so we can save them….maybe…..hopefully?!?!? FYI, there has been a few Srt4’s with fuel tech. Mainly one that spent a lot of time at fuel tech and made a lot of licks at the track before the DEA took it…………………….
@PFI Speed Best Christmas gift ever... I can wait to come to the states to meet up with you guys. the SRT4 videos by far are my favorites. You guys rock
Good video guys but for clarity we ran FuelTech over 3 years ago on Bradley’s car when we went 8s with a manual. It was running the stock reluctor but no cam synch. Ran fine but sometimes would hard start due to lack of cam signal to help find home. Dakotas 1g with SRT/420 deal runs it as well but we used a 24-1 cam magnet deal like the Hondas on that one. Good luck on your goals.
I'm new to Mopar but they Shure take alot of new parts hope ur neon dreams finally come true pray for my 1g cause it needs it glad see you get it back in the shop
@@PFIBrent ahh i see ..very good to know that it makes sense now I think about it on my lsv turbo I have my can draining back into my block I wanna switch to e85 .will the e85 cause to much moisture an should I not drain the can back into.the block..should I block that off an just drain the catch can every so often?
I see you sync the timing on the camshaft, is there any particular reason to do it on the cams instead of the crank? Is it more precise or something like that?
On this platform the crank pulley is not keyed into position on the crank so there is no timing mark on it. Thankfully there is timing marks on the cam gears instead.
Cool, long rod motors are not often built. Always wondered on the red line of a K24a block with a K20 crank. Heard the F22a or H23 crank can be machined to make a 2.2L K series too.
Very sure it's a stratus block and eclipse 420a head aka reverse flow for the eec Chrysler engine also related to the later evo engines and known for the srt4.
always see this Neon SRT-4 in the back and wondered what was up with it, cool to finally get a good look. Too bad no one does 1st gen neon's any more, they were a bit lighter too
Little info- The Stratus sedan was available with a 2.0L but it was a SOHC engine not a 420A. Then it was also offered with a NA 2.4L Mopar engine which was DOHC. The Stratus coupe with the 2.4L however was a SOHC engine and was Mitsubishi sourced. The Dodge Avenger and Sebring Coupe were available with the 420A 2.0L DOHC, and early Neon R/T models got the 2.0L DOHC before the newer generation switched to the “Magnum” 2.0L which was a SOHC.
Love the SRT4 content! Is that a destroked stock crank or billet one? It's been a LONG time since KW was doing destroked setups and I can't remember the specifics. I thought it was an offset ground stock crank and 4G63 rod at 2.3L, but that may be another setup I'm thinking of. 🤔
*I hope this reminds Jamie to keep the automatic transmission big turbo STR dream alive!* I love the idea, when that thing was running correctly down on the FL streets it looked like a wild ride. I wish it stayed together longer 😞
I've got an 88 corolla and on cold start it'll idle at 2k for almost 5 minutes until it slowly starts to drop, and then it'll take another 5-10 min to drop down to 800. I've already replaced iacv and checked for vacuum leaks but didn't find any. My EGR valve has 2 hoses in the top and 1 on bottom, the bottom one is plugged with what looks to be asphalt. Would that cause my engine to take so long to warm up?
Y’all Know I Love The Mopars 💪💪
PFI...thank you for this video. all youtubers took the day off and you guys put out a video!! thanks a bunch
most under rated channel on youtube! you guys rock! hope to see you guys improve on your goals in 2022!.

Awesome to see more dyno videos! Love the diagnosis too!!
The crank and cam sensors can always be so touchy on the neon/srt platform. If the sensors aren’t mopar they are pretty well known to cut ignition. Glad to see it was just that simple to fix.
Had massive issues with jeeps IB the past..their crank sensors were matched to the harness for some years. Absurd.
Those control arms flexing forward yikes. ..🥳. Need to add traction bars or something or that thing is gonna be a bear to handle on a sticky track.
I remember being 12yrs old and seeing SRT4 NEON in Midnight Club 3 DUB edition I thought they were so cool my aunt had a regular orange Neon but good on Jamie actually making one fast.
That bracket welded onto the engine oil dipstick so that it gets bolted to the header flange is so simple and elegant that it’s genius!
a lot of cars have that in stock form as well, but yeah, def. a nice touch.
Its the OEM SRT4 dip stick tube, thats how they come from factory
@@srtfernie5975 Didn't realize that was stock. It's a great idea that Honda guys should copy for their turbo B series engines.
This is Awesome! Such a sick ride. So cool to see another platform, but most importantly. Jaime and you back at doing what you love. Absolutely fire.
PFI always worth the wait. I thought you were tuning Santa sleigh this episode 😁 Happy holidays PFI family 🎄❤️🎄 Brent, Jamie, Shawn, Shane, Samantha.

Glad this car is finally making progress. There is another guy running fueltech on an srt4, bradley dillon. I believe he ran an 8.9 with his car.
Bradley was on stock ecu when it was last out. It is currently being rebuilt and I believe it will be on fuel tech this time when it hits the track. Hopefully very soon.

Im a honda boy but ive always loved the srt4, even the looks. That 2.4 is tough af. Dodge killed it
@@junkyard4999 when built right, srt4 are no joke. However, most owners can't build them right 😢. They're not hard to work on our build.
The head flow isn't what limits the timing. It's many factors, but chamber and piston design dictate most.
Swap in a honda K24 engine in it for a better flowing head and fixed 👌.
@@LatinoAD no need, neon engines have made over 1000hp to the wheels already and that's plenty
