  • This was alittle long of a video but i did not want to edit this week...lol..
    the eggs in this incubator were from Carol of face book and I am glad to have met her and got these eggs. to see photos of the chicks, check out my facebook page the link is on my youtube front page. thanks
    Bobwhite quail eggs will hatch 23 to 24 days from the time they are set in the incubator. The ideal temperature in a forced-air incubator should be 99.5 degrees F with a relative humidity of approximately 60 percent. Temperature fluctuations may prolong or shorten the exact length of incubation.
    Eggs are generally transferred to a separate hatcher on day 21 of incubation. Using separate setters and hatchers results in cleaner chicks and less cross contamination between the hatching eggs and any newly set eggs. The relative humidity in the hatching machine should be a little higher, at 70 to 75 percent, with a slightly lower temperature of 97 to 99 degrees F. However, the ideal temperature will vary among machine types and hatcher room conditions.
    Warm or cool spots in the incubator may cause noticeably prolonged or shortened incubation periods or unusually low hatch rates. Place several accurate thermometers in the incubator and check them several times daily. If temperature variations are a problem, contact the incubator manufacturer for suggestions. Severe or prolonged temperature variability in the incubator room may affect conditions in the incubator's interior, especially if the incubator is inadequately insulated. Such variations may adversely affect chick quality.

    Thanks. I wish you would have gone over the troughs you fill and the humidity you had with those troughs. I am having a hard time keeping the humidity constant. Also, the placement of the tray to the egg turner is important. The egg turner has a gap to fill the water troughs. If you put the tray in correctly, you can fill the troughs easily as the ends will be placed at the gap!

    Helpful video. I just set up my Hova-bator with the fan and turner too. I like your tip about measuring the water so I know how much it will hold.

    good for you and also have fun with the egg hatching. this is why we set it up a few days before getting the eggs. so every day just keep lowering it and you will get it down for sure. also some states are hotter than others so this is why it's high now. also remember never to put it where you have drafts that will make it go up and down and kill you eggs :) have a great weekend :)

    if you soak your tray in vinegar and water it will dissolve those hard water stains

    Oh gosh I just got one of these and set it up about an hour ago like you did (no eggs in it) and the temp is at 124 degrees Fahrenheit. Hope it comes down by tomorrow... I'm scared. Thanks for demonstrating how to set it up!

    It didn't go down after 12 hours at 124 degrees so I took the wafer out and then put it together again and that seems to have fixed it. I was at 99.5 for 24 hours so I set a few eggs even though I don't need anymore chickens at the moment hehe.

    Hi. I have this unit. I cannot figure out how to get the temperature to stay consistent.. I'm making very fine adjustments, but it just won't seem to stabilize… any help would be appreciated

      @manintoynenam 6 років тому

      Jeremy Seburn make sure ur heating element is not touching the thermostat and put your incubator in a room temperature.

      My unit varies by a degree up and down. The hen moves about and the eggs don't get even temperature either. It works fine as long as it's between 97 to 101.

    • @charliesweb1k
      @charliesweb1k  7 років тому

      Emeline Barber eBay is where I got this one which is my very first one. Amazon also has it but many local feed stores carry it. If you go into your own pet shop ask if they have access to ordering one of these. It's best if you order it yourself because it's cheaper since the store has to make money and charge more. Hope that helps. Thanks 🙏
