Thank you very much! I was moving in a new place and found it very hard to keep up with tutorial - but it doesn't mean I will never post again! And your comment is so encouraging ❤
Stunning and thank you for sharing. I am going to try this. I was given Paul rubens as a birthday present so it's great to hear what you have said about the pigments
Thank you and great, I hope this tutorial will help you make a beautiful painting! Yeah, the pigments are a bit misleading in Paul Rubens, the colors on the tube do not really correspond at what you get on paper, so I usually try them on a little piece of paper and wait till they are dry! This way I make sure I know how they will look like once dried :)
Thank you Evgenila for sharing your technics and good advice. Also you have a lovely way of encouraging others to slow down and enjoy the process. May I ask if you use anything to protect your finished paintings as I have heard there can be fading with watercolors. Thanks so much, Lindsay.
Hello Michelle! Thank you for your kind words. I usually use a special UV glass when I frame my artworks, this glass protects from the UV and works pretty well! It is more expensive than buying a frame with a normal glass though. I haven't tried any other protection yet, but I hope to buy a protective spray one day and give it a try!
I used different photographs, some of them are not Common Licenced, so I can’t really share them legally... :( Didn’t think of it from that point of view when I was making the tutorial.. Usually I like to find few references, some for the color, some for the form, etc., and work from that!
This is beautiful and thank you so much for the tutorial!! At the end, when you’re removing the tape, it looks like you taped it to a glass pane or something? Is that what it’s taped to, or is it something else? Thanks!
Thank you! Yes, indeed, I taped the watercolor sheet to the glass panel (they are used in linocut printing to thourougly distribute oil painting over a roller), but I find it quite helpful and I often use it if my paper sheet is not too big. Hope it helps :)
You mean watercolor pens? I would try them on a small project first but once you feel more confortable with them, I'd definitely work on a harder project - this is how we learn! Don't worry if the effect is not exactly the same, keep practicing :) I'd like to see your result btw!
