From a simple carpenter that still employs simple rabbets and dadoes, the accuracy and hand skills are a pleasure to watch.

Absolutely killed it! The American “influencer” woodworkers like to steal ideas and claim their ownership, they also just talk about tools and want you to buy their 3D printed or cnc machines jig or plans….my point is…they don’t actually ever build anything! They mainly use “woodworking” as a “content” subject and scan views/clicks and make love to their selfie sticks! I watched this entire video and could just tell! You’ve got skills and what looks like an open shop or school?! Anyway, just wanted to say keep up the master craftsmanship and no bs content! As a 1/4 Japanese over 15yr carpenter/builder just like to say hello and show my respect to someone who deserves it! Cheers my brother!

Very nice jig setup and it looks so easy to use. But as with any wood jig, I'm sure some trial and error existed until you got it all perfect. But now it is very successful to use... I have to say, I actually like finger joints (box joints) better than dove tail. But that is just me. Thumbs Up

Love your work. Very technically solid, and yet not overly complicated. With a little care and maintenance, that shelf while last a hundred years or more. I also enjoy seeing how you build and use your jigs. Very cool. Can you recommend a high quality block plane made in Japan, but available to buy from the US? Thank you either way. Peace to you from California USA.

I like this. I’ve seen a lot of woodworking videos and never seen this before. One question, why not do the entire depth on the first pass? Why come back for the second pass for depth? Is it because the length of the bit is too short?

I wasn't sure how to go about it since my boards are long, like yours in the video. Looks like I need a jig like yours. Did you make the jig and do you have plans for it?
