  • Shatta sauce is a traditional chilli sauce eaten across the Middle East. A traditional Levantine hot sauce, it's made from blended and lightly fermented chillies it comes in either a red or green variety in a myraid of hotness.       Probably some kind of fermentation process

      @@boredbytrash Exactly. It starts the fermentation process and gives the 'sauce' a fuller flavour with an ever so slight sourness.

    It's just ground peppers. Thats not a sauce.

      A sauce is any thick semi-solid liquid, hence apple sauce, and cranberry sauce.
