I picked one up used a couple weeks ago, super cool. I mainly got it as a way to quickly grab my guitar, put on headphones and noodle. Don’t yet have a way to have my Helix out and ready to go all the time. I don’t think it sounds as good as the Helix, but it does sound great. Having the Friedman BE100, Transitistor Tape and Dynamic Plate is just killer. As others have said, IR loading would be great, or perhaps the option to choose mics in addition to the cab. I’d also love to have the option for a compressor, say instead of the gate, but the DSP might be a bit too limited.
I wish I had the time to grab and noodle, those days are behind me since the kids arrived! That’s a great idea for the drive block to include a compressor, then we can have the spanky funk tones with the Fender clean amp on there!
I really hope L6 would be gracious to add MIDI implementation over USB that can modulate parameters and scroll through presets over CC and change presets over PC.
I bought it as a quick backup to my Kemper. I think is ok but could not deal with line6 always sounding too digital. I ended up buying a tonex. Anyway, I think this unit is in desperate need of IR loading capabilities. Pretty much all new units have this capability.
Wow the Express is severely outclassed by the Kemper. IR-loading would have complicated the workflow a bit for a beginner user (taking away from the playing because more tweaking), so I can understand why they would leave it out.
I agree with you. However, the inclusion doesn’t mean you have to use the feature, but for us more accustomed to digital devices would find it beneficial. I think. God bless.
POD Express is my favorite pedal of 2024.
So cool right? I wish it was around when I was starting out.

Oh that’s a fantastic idea! I wish that were the case with the POD Go too, if they’re going down that road.
Am curious how it would be if you used it with other pedals.
I did use it for this video as part of my big pedalboard:

@AllAboutWorshipGuitar it seems like the pod express takes pedals well.
