A lower crown and teardrop just like the special edition version ! The S.E comes pre shaped,with a teardrop, and a low crown.. but not in dark brown. So we’re shaping it up for this customer who wanted it to look like the S.E. Silhouette, a classical teardrop shape with a crown that’s got a significantly lower height.. no problem!

Opinion is low on the felts, they’re overpriced, wool felts.. I haven’t seen anything in a fur felt yet from them, and yet they sell for fur felt level prices, not a fan.
Although, they do a few genuine Panama straws, someone makes them for them and they add their name.. those are okay, but their felts and paper straws are pretty low quality.. I have no problem with lower quality hats,as long as the price reflects that.
Another awesome , awesome job! Would you say that crown is pretty tall-ish? (relatively speaking). I have the hankering' for a hat bashed like Bogie used to wear --center crease (I think) and a super-sharp pinch with large front dimples. It's a hat that looks as though you slept in it, but is still cool and stylish. Could a Premier Strat fit that bill?

Yes the premier us tall and baggy.. exactly. The Stetsonian is also awesome but has a very big brim,I prefer the premier Stratoliner.. that's it exactly, a high center crease or a sloppy, hand creased higher Teardrop will do it..
What color is this one? It looks mink, but I can’t be 100% sure on a phone screen.

It will be near impossible to get such a teardrop on an Akubra Stylemaster due the very low, tapering crown.
@@LowPlainsDrifter60 I realize it's a smaller hat, but I'd still like to get those tight creases at the top.
@Dave I'm very happy with the teardrop Kevin put in my explorer. I don't know the specs on your Akubra, but I highly recommend having Kevin give it a shot if they're anywhere close to comparable.
@@Iwan2ride my Stylemaster has a teardrop crease already. What I really like is those seriously defined lines of the crease in the hat he's doing. I'm going to steam my hat and see if I can replicate it on my own. If not, it'll go to Kevin on my next trip to NYC. 👍😀

That color was called cordoba but this is an older video, they change the colors every year

("Attn Kevin" in the subject line) they'll forward it to me 😉 buy big , vintage can be a size too tight often, so if it's "a little small" it'll probably be a lot small, old hats have dehydrated sweatbands often so they run tighter.. but sure,I have a vintage expert here too,Adam ... I'll run it by him too
