I love that Dark Magician is getting so many different fusions with nostalgic cards. He's got a fusion with Gaia, Red Eyes and now Black Luster Soldier. When are they gonna do a fusion with Blue Eyes though?

I have a strong DM deck profile, and I recently ordered Master of Chaos, Illusion of Chaos, and Timaeus the United Dragon to power up my deck even further. Sam, I would like to see you build a custom Mayakashi deck profile and see what it can do against other decks. That would be interesting to see, even on Master Duel as well.

@@kirintoad it’s a backup if you don’t pull other useful cards or draw rod with like Dgirl or other traps, and or any combination the doesn’t get into your standard combo

But main use was just for rod Dunno if we really need or use master of chaos cause we have a total board nuke in dark burning magic that comes board snd isn't hard to setup ans arguable easier as has more synergy but yah guess artemis has more use

I'm brand new to Yugioh as a whole and I just completed the tutorials to learn the basics of the game (damn your Pendulums and XYZs and Synchros are confusing) but I ended up with a very similar Dark Magician deck to this one on Master Duel and I'm having tons of fun :) I'm an absolute newb but this deck is giving me a fighting chance and I got to gold tier finally. Powering through the new player struggles. Not gonna lie almost gave up a few times, Konami doesn't make this easy to get into xD
How do you get dark magician cards in master duel?? I’ve had it for awhile but building any kind of custom deck seems so far off… do you just open tons of packs over time?
You absolutely need 3 REF and only 1-2 DMC, Dragoon is main boss monster of DM deck and I think you should prioritize cards that can summon it Also sky striker engine is great in DM deck, it's free anaconda
@@gamesmohamed6818 I wouldn't agree, you always want to see REF in your hand and if it get ashed you have many more ways to summon Dragoon, yeah it can brick sometimes but it happens, you can never expect that you won't brick ever in your life

Honestly I think it'd be interesting to see an Earthbound Immortals or Yubel deck. Haven't seen either in Master Duel before and either would be a good follow up on Sacred Beasts.
@@mr.springtrapGenshin Well for Arc V a person does run a Earthbound Synchro monsters. Hopefully we get them into TCG. I build an Earthbound Imortal deck involving the Inca archetype. Love the the build, but just need more support
Because rouge decks like that won’t ever be played because no one wants to use gems for bad cards and decks. If everything was free then that would be different

@@ItsMoorbinTime For the most part I agree. Number 11 can really come in handy but when you're only playing 2 DM, they're much less viable. And nowadays I see no real reason to play 3 DM. He bricks too much. I feel like he is glued to starting hands even more than blue-eyes but that might just be me 😂

If you're playing 2 DMs Ebon does nothing. Other than the Artemis I almost think he'd get more out of the High Priest DM because of all the traps in his main.

Can’t wait to build a DM deck, my cyber dragons is complete and a well oiled 5* machine but nostalgia won’t be complete until I’ve build DMs and the first ever deck I had, a Relinquished deck.
More master Duel vids!!!!!! Game has breath life back into me with Yu-Gi-Oh I quit to play LOR for a year be was in the shadows keeping up with the meta now I can't get enough
REF needs to be played at 3, especially since Anaconda is getting hit more with Skill Drain, Chalice and Veiler, which are all being played in high numbers as format. Players are opting to play last Ash as well, so why not play REF at 3 because it's less likely now than ever to get Ashed. If they have it, they have it, but you can still set your torrentials and traps down. Treat REF just like any other normal summon, you only get one, but in spell form.
I still see ash all the time personally. People play it for verte, fusion destiny, e tele, REF, all of which are super commonly played cards, and in fact phantom knights plays all of the first 3 I mentioned. Ash is stronger now than it has been in a while. Sure, it's still a 1 for 1 trade, but there are certain common cards right now that really hurt when they are ashed. I'm not really sure where you're coming from with that tbh.
The new Timaeus card is my number one choice if I don't have dragoon out already. even if you do you can turbo dragoon or summon the dragon knight which protects your spell and trap cards. You can then go into the dark magicians with magicalized fusion by banishing off the cards you just sent to the graveyard (dark magician for sure) then fuse into the dark magicians. So, if you open with Timaues, Illusion of chaos, dark magician, magicalized fusion and any other spell caster in your deck you can get two really insane fusions on the field with a follow up to the turn two for The Dark Magicians. This deck is soooooo much fun. If you get a chance to grab it up for a reasonable price, do it! you wont regret it!
I think Imduk is a better choice over Link Spider; gives you a way to get DM Knight out, another target for Dragoon and can out something similarly to Anima.
I've had this same thought as well, but Imduk the World Chalice Dragon cannot use a token as material for its summon so if you ever get stuck with one and it prevents you from doing anything useful (like Lost World's token) you can't use Imduk to get rid of it. If you can make space I'd personally play both because I do like the destruction effect when it does come up
Wish Darklords would get more support. Not much just maybe another trap, one that can send a fairy from the hand or field to the GY and special a Darklord from the GY.
Honestly all they need to do is change Condemned Darklord’s effect so it can add or send ANY Darklord card, not just the monsters. A Darklord that special summons itself to the field while you control another Darklord once per turn would be pretty good too
@@polygon2745 Yeah but why would Darklords need it’s own Silent boots? Plus the trap would help get fairies like the Despia main deck monsters into the GY and then revive say for example Darklord Superbia then Superbia could revive another fairy or even the one that was sent, hell you even use the trap to send Archlord Krystia from your hand to revive Superbia and then revive Krystia.
@@kish45 Why would you turn down a way to make the deck more consistent? One of Darklords biggest flaws is its consistency, giving condemned the ability's to search/send any darklord card would give you more flexibility to load the grave/hand with what you need on command. That trap sounds nice, if somewhat unbalanced haha. Why would this one trap have a different activation cost to the other traps that lets you send ANY fairy, and not just a darklord? That would make it far too powerful, and that would mean any fairy deck could use it to abuse Kristya. Also, it would have the same problem with missing timing as Contact does when you copy its effect with a darklord and try to revive Superbia.
@@polygon2745 Darklord Descent has a different activation cost than the other Darklord traps. Though what about if the trap just sends any dark fairy to the GY then the trap would be limited to only dark fairy archetypes?
@@kish45 sure but Darklord descent is based off of a GX card, it’s way older and not part of the “new” wave of support. Limiting it to dark fairies is fairer but given Darklord and Despia are like the only dark fairy archetypes, you mig it as well make it archetype specific so you can search it off if banishment. If it sent/revived a generic dark fairy there’s no point in making it a Darklord card aside from searchability

Sam I built a Dino deck to go second with Raigeki, black hole, dark ruler no morr (for combos) or duster, twin twister and cyclone (for controls), not being able to afford cards like forbidden droplet and lightning storm (I prefer spend that money on the collection rather than on cards that will lose their value when reprinted). I also built dino to play first with traps rather than handtraps, because I think playing first traps are much stronger. And so I put Solemn Strike and Summon Limit in addition to Impermanence. What do you think about it?
Legit question I’m sure not the only one to ask: what exactly makes deck profiles like this “ god tier”? The amount of money spent on the cards themselves (rarity, # of each card) or the overwhelming amount of hype for a meh deck? Genuinely curious

Skill drain is amazing.. ended up stalling with salvation, eternal soul and dark circle against heroes.. he ended up giving up cause he couldn't break it 😂😂
ok here is the problem with this build. 1. ur running 3 circle. this card is not that amazing, it allows u to stack the top 3 cards, it does not give u a card every time. its a card that basically gives dark magician an effect everytime u summon him. this card should be reduced to 1 or at least 2, besides its searchable. 2. ur only running 1 ref. this card should always be maxed out as it is one of our best starters in getting our boss monster out and dumping our dark magician to the grave. if u only run 1 and u have it in ur opening hand then u wont be able to use verte and ull most likely have the 1 ref u had ashed bc u dont have a backup 3. u dont run any protection for verte from getting impermed or veilered and u only run 1 verte which is also a mistake bc if it does get negated then ur not gonna have a follow up which means ur screwed 4. ur running I:P and all the knightmares, those cards r not even that great plus u dont even have enough recources to get into all of them 5. u dont run artemis nor imduk which r eccential for linking away ur rod (artemis) or dark magician (imduk) which can go into bigger plays or imduk can be used to get into another dragoon 6. u dont run dharc the dark charmer, gloomy which can easily bait dpe or can steal dark monsters from ur opponent to go into selene then accesscode 7. u run big eye, it takes 2 lvl 7s just to steal an opponents monster which takes up too much time and recources, u wont be able to make that in just 1 or 2 turns and by the time u do make it the duel would pretty much be almost over srry to say but this build i far from being god tier for now. keep working on it, im sure ull get it right at some point
SAM, please make a Vampire deck profile. They're my favorite! They don't have a lot of support but are still able to pull wins, I myself run 2 decks and love them but I'd love to see what you can build and hopefully start seeing more videos on Vampires since you don't see anyone run that deck.

Shocker Sam highlighting skill drain as a primary win condition for a deck,and calls it "interruption" as if it's not going to stun the game state. Monke brain loves it haha.
I've got a gnarly Gravekeeper deck that has been performing brilliantly if you're interested! Negate special summons and get a 3900/3900 gravekeeper supernaturalist on the field turn 1
I do wish that when you were running the combo plays at the end, you arbitrarily have the opponent negate something to show the deck's ability to work around. Like, what if they magic drain circle or solemn/horn of heaven a key monster. Where do we go from there? Of course every deck looks good when things are going good, but I wanna see how this deck bounces back or works around a counter.
I feel like your counter trap to regular trap ratio is off. Like strike paired with anyone of those is Op. but like if your opponent has multiple negates than any of the regular traps paired could be useless.

You should do handtest combos cause with 12 traps in deck im curious how consistent you can be, But really like the deck !

@@filipk02 if it gets ashed you summon NOTHING for the entire turn. You can only set and pass.
@@babrad It’s a better risk than ending with The Dark Magicians and a hand full of Dark Magical Circles or blowout traps with no follow up next turn.

19:45 you cannot summon master of chaos by banishing Dark magician and souls. You must use a dm and a “Chaos” monster to summon moc.
I think he just put the wrong card, if you listen to his wording he says you banish illusion and DM. Illusion is a chaos monster

Master duel has its own ban list that doesnt follow the tcg. So unless they unban dragoon your out of luck.

I always see ppl use the dark magicians, but I have yet to see anyone besides myself use the silent magicians they're pretty dope IMO.

Can’t wait to build a DM deck, my cyber dragons is complete and a well oiled 5* machine but nostalgia won’t be complete until I’ve build DMs and the first ever deck I had, a Relinquished deck.

More master Duel vids!!!!!! Game has breath life back into me with Yu-Gi-Oh I quit to play LOR for a year be was in the shadows keeping up with the meta now I can't get enough
REF needs to be played at 3, especially since Anaconda is getting hit more with Skill Drain, Chalice and Veiler, which are all being played in high numbers as format. Players are opting to play last Ash as well, so why not play REF at 3 because it's less likely now than ever to get Ashed.
If they have it, they have it, but you can still set your torrentials and traps down. Treat REF just like any other normal summon, you only get one, but in spell form.

I still see ash all the time personally. People play it for verte, fusion destiny, e tele, REF, all of which are super commonly played cards, and in fact phantom knights plays all of the first 3 I mentioned. Ash is stronger now than it has been in a while. Sure, it's still a 1 for 1 trade, but there are certain common cards right now that really hurt when they are ashed. I'm not really sure where you're coming from with that tbh.

The new Timaeus card is my number one choice if I don't have dragoon out already. even if you do you can turbo dragoon or summon the dragon knight which protects your spell and trap cards. You can then go into the dark magicians with magicalized fusion by banishing off the cards you just sent to the graveyard (dark magician for sure) then fuse into the dark magicians. So, if you open with Timaues, Illusion of chaos, dark magician, magicalized fusion and any other spell caster in your deck you can get two really insane fusions on the field with a follow up to the turn two for The Dark Magicians. This deck is soooooo much fun. If you get a chance to grab it up for a reasonable price, do it! you wont regret it!
I think a deck profile for Phantom Knights would be pretty rad 😎

I think Imduk is a better choice over Link Spider; gives you a way to get DM Knight out, another target for Dragoon and can out something similarly to Anima.
I've had this same thought as well, but Imduk the World Chalice Dragon cannot use a token as material for its summon so if you ever get stuck with one and it prevents you from doing anything useful (like Lost World's token) you can't use Imduk to get rid of it. If you can make space I'd personally play both because I do like the destruction effect when it does come up

Wish Darklords would get more support. Not much just maybe another trap, one that can send a fairy from the hand or field to the GY and special a Darklord from the GY.
Honestly all they need to do is change Condemned Darklord’s effect so it can add or send ANY Darklord card, not just the monsters. A Darklord that special summons itself to the field while you control another Darklord once per turn would be pretty good too
@@polygon2745 Yeah but why would Darklords need it’s own Silent boots? Plus the trap would help get fairies like the Despia main deck monsters into the GY and then revive say for example Darklord Superbia then Superbia could revive another fairy or even the one that was sent, hell you even use the trap to send Archlord Krystia from your hand to revive Superbia and then revive Krystia.
@@kish45 Why would you turn down a way to make the deck more consistent? One of Darklords biggest flaws is its consistency, giving condemned the ability's to search/send any darklord card would give you more flexibility to load the grave/hand with what you need on command.
That trap sounds nice, if somewhat unbalanced haha. Why would this one trap have a different activation cost to the other traps that lets you send ANY fairy, and not just a darklord? That would make it far too powerful, and that would mean any fairy deck could use it to abuse Kristya. Also, it would have the same problem with missing timing as Contact does when you copy its effect with a darklord and try to revive Superbia.
@@polygon2745 Darklord Descent has a different activation cost than the other Darklord traps. Though what about if the trap just sends any dark fairy to the GY then the trap would be limited to only dark fairy archetypes?
@@kish45 sure but Darklord descent is based off of a GX card, it’s way older and not part of the “new” wave of support. Limiting it to dark fairies is fairer but given Darklord and Despia are like the only dark fairy archetypes, you mig it as well make it archetype specific so you can search it off if banishment. If it sent/revived a generic dark fairy there’s no point in making it a Darklord card aside from searchability

Ebon high magician is slept on for sure. Non targeting destruction and a search, even under skill drain.

Everyone a little bit more into dm plays just 2 copies. You don't want it in your hand, you want to dump it with anaconda+ref

Sam I built a Dino deck to go second with Raigeki, black hole, dark ruler no morr (for combos) or duster, twin twister and cyclone (for controls), not being able to afford cards like forbidden droplet and lightning storm (I prefer spend that money on the collection rather than on cards that will lose their value when reprinted).
I also built dino to play first with traps rather than handtraps, because I think playing first traps are much stronger. And so I put Solemn Strike and Summon Limit in addition to Impermanence.
What do you think about it?
I think you can also play 3 Preparation Of Rites too to search Illusion Of Chaos and use to bait Ash as well

Legit question I’m sure not the only one to ask: what exactly makes deck profiles like this “ god tier”? The amount of money spent on the cards themselves (rarity, # of each card) or the overwhelming amount of hype for a meh deck? Genuinely curious

Skill drain is amazing.. ended up stalling with salvation, eternal soul and dark circle against heroes.. he ended up giving up cause he couldn't break it 😂😂

ok here is the problem with this build.
1. ur running 3 circle. this card is not that amazing, it allows u to stack the top 3 cards, it does not give u a card every time. its a card that basically gives dark magician an effect everytime u summon him. this card should be reduced to 1 or at least 2, besides its searchable.
2. ur only running 1 ref. this card should always be maxed out as it is one of our best starters in getting our boss monster out and dumping our dark magician to the grave. if u only run 1 and u have it in ur opening hand then u wont be able to use verte and ull most likely have the 1 ref u had ashed bc u dont have a backup
3. u dont run any protection for verte from getting impermed or veilered and u only run 1 verte which is also a mistake bc if it does get negated then ur not gonna have a follow up which means ur screwed
4. ur running I:P and all the knightmares, those cards r not even that great plus u dont even have enough recources to get into all of them
5. u dont run artemis nor imduk which r eccential for linking away ur rod (artemis) or dark magician (imduk) which can go into bigger plays or imduk can be used to get into another dragoon
6. u dont run dharc the dark charmer, gloomy which can easily bait dpe or can steal dark monsters from ur opponent to go into selene then accesscode
7. u run big eye, it takes 2 lvl 7s just to steal an opponents monster which takes up too much time and recources, u wont be able to make that in just 1 or 2 turns and by the time u do make it the duel would pretty much be almost over
srry to say but this build i far from being god tier for now. keep working on it, im sure ull get it right at some point
Ebon Illusion Magician will not work under 2 Dark Magician in the main deck.

SAM, please make a Vampire deck profile. They're my favorite! They don't have a lot of support but are still able to pull wins, I myself run 2 decks and love them but I'd love to see what you can build and hopefully start seeing more videos on Vampires since you don't see anyone run that deck.
You should do new crusadia with someone of the new support. It's maunr an A or B tier deck, but it's crazzzzzy good when people aren't expecting it

I do wish that when you were running the combo plays at the end, you arbitrarily have the opponent negate something to show the deck's ability to work around. Like, what if they magic drain circle or solemn/horn of heaven a key monster. Where do we go from there? Of course every deck looks good when things are going good, but I wanna see how this deck bounces back or works around a counter.

I feel like your counter trap to regular trap ratio is off. Like strike paired with anyone of those is Op. but like if your opponent has multiple negates than any of the regular traps paired could be useless.
the thing with trap card is that it is garbage going second against swordsoul. They can consistently pop your backrow.
