NOTE: You didn't need a custom build for a while, but the emulator has been broken again. Fix is here: github.com/xenia-canary/xenia-canary/issues/158 Also, I'd recommend that you use a combination of the 540p patch, as well as any patches that disable additional graphical effects. It makes the game run significantly smoother. Also don't ask for links to a ROM, I will remove your comment. And also no, I'm not making a step by step guide. There are a million other places to learn how to use Xenia, and you shouldn't really be trusting video guides with things like this. Always read official documentation.
@@boxo_foxo There is a guide on the Xenia Canary page for how to use patches. Download them, put them in their proper place, and then just edit the text files to enable/disable them. I'd recommend disabling as many graphical effects as possible for the best performance. Also don't enable the 1280x720 patch, as it doesn't function on Vulkan.
@@MetalistCore24 Video guides become outdated extremely quickly, and should never be trusted against official documentation. I'm here to share a cool thing a friend got working, not hit the algorithm or whatever.
Anyone else getting error "Nested Exception Encounted Faulting thread name: GPU Commands (01000004)" when starting? It only happends with Proton, it works with Wine but there's missing textures everywhere. GPU has been set to vulkan.
Wow, this means I don't have to use the proprietary AMD drivers on my linux desktop. Also the fork link gives a 404 error rip. edit: nvm it got merged to canary
Yeah, not having to use AMDVLK or AMDGPU-PRO is nice. I believe RADV yields better performance as well. I'm really happy my friend was able to find a fix because its impossible to use either of those on the Steam Deck, as even having either of them present on the system is enough to prevent the gamescope session from starting.
dumb question as i see averages of 22.5-6W being pulled but what is the battery life like on this? can you get playtimes longer than an hour cause id love to play unleashed during breaks at work or on the train
Xenia is less stable and provides less visual fidelity than RPCS3. However, it runs significantly better than RPCS3, making it my preferred way to play the game.
Ok, when installing it (forgive me I'm a xenia moron) should I just download the executable or do I also need the Commit + Fork? What do I do with the Commit + Fork thing if I need it?

You could’ve gotten more views and subscribers on your channel if you made a tutorial of your own.

wow that’s p much native experience with unleashed
When I tried everything you explained I get graphical glitches and the game crashes after the first cutscene, any ideas on how to fix?
Are you using Canary?
I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work without a 100 percent save file, which you can download.
@@jimbobrl8453 It does not require a 100% save file
Bind one of your buttons to F5 and press that whenever you get bugs.

Is like play Sonic Unleashed on wiiu gamepad with wii version. But in good quality !
Use a fps boost mod to fix the dips in frame rate.
there is none

Battery isn't great, to put it lightly.
You can get better battery life if you set the fps to 30 or 40
Do you have the link for the 540p patch
Same, I've looked everywhere and no luck...
It's in the Xenia Canary Patches repo. github.com/xenia-canary/game-patches
Would you say Xenia is better than Rpcs3 for this game?
For sure, unless you have a top of the line cpu, rpcs3 is very hard to use

@@boxo_foxo the commit/fork is a link to the source code so you can build it yourself. Just grab the exe from the link in the description.

You know If they managed to get sonic unleashed to run on here, then maybe we could get other games to run like red dead?
From what I understand, the fix also affected a bunch of other games as well. It's worth a shot.
how to i fix the game
i'm stuck on now loading once i boot up the game
Make sure you have a valid copy of the game.
@@coatlessali i do, i just don't know the problem
me again, where might I be able to get the game for xenia
I don't have the means of dumping my series S copy...
Definitely *do not* extract an iso of the game from your *modded Xbox 360* using an xdg3 extraction tool from Google.
@@coatlessali alright I'll make sure not to do that
Piracy.
It's a 15 year old game I think SEGA will live
No way to dump from series s sadly
The link is not working?

It's a dead link. It was in the description originally, and I wanted to preserve it.
