First thing I thought for a laptop with only passive cooling. Seems like a good way to insulate it.

I bought a set of 2 almost identical dbrand covers. Did not go for the full set, just a cover for the top part and the trackpad. And a sleeve with a velcro adjustable built in stand. And! Wait for it: I still had a HP Bluetooth keyboard that I used with their WebOS tablet. Connected it to my Macbook, had to press the buttons near the Tab-buttons left and right and this very specific model from 10+ years ago was recognized! It works almost 100%, apart from the key with CONTROL written on it, for Control I have to use the key right beside it. Perfect!

My must have accessory is a DisplayLink dock. I've got an M1 Air, and triple monitor setup. Obviously, those 2 things do not add up. The displaylink dock corrects that issue. There are some caveats to it (I.E., you have to turn off hardware accelleration in your browser, when you want to stream on most platforms). Bu overall, it has massively enhanced my. workflow.

The dockcase won't work with the Studio Display since it doesn't have Thunderbolt. Is that right?

On the subject of the SSD since the iPad line has USB-C have you used the SSD with an iPad??
I got me a LaCie brand SSD in a 1TB version and I've put some stuff on it already but when I check the information in the Files app on iPadOS it gives me a "Created Date" of December 31st, 1969 but the "Modified Date" says December 31st, 1969
I'm wondering if it's now a bad sector on the drive

I just ordered my Mac book air m3 but just heard that the m4 is around the corner. Should I wait or just screw it and keep what I just ordered

Keep the M3 order.The M4 won’t be massively faster or better.Also that M3 will be good for years to come.
