The Perfect Accessories For Your MacBook Air 🍎

- As much as I love Apple and advocate for USB-C, the decision to remove certain ports from devices has been frustrating at best.
I’ve been a fan of @satechi products for a long time, they make some really premium products for devices with limited I/O options and they’re definitely my go-to for third party accessories.
Here’s a couple of my favourites! 🙌🏼
might want to disclose its an ad...
@@JDdaFilmerit doesnt matter if its genuinely good or not, *if* its an ad it has to be disclosed, but we dont rly know if its and ad or not ig
Get a life man.
There's a tag on the shorts (right above the page name mentioning it as an Ad). There's no need for extra mention whatsoever.
Why does it matter?
@@reginalddavaughn4583because if it’s an ad it may not be a genuine opinion
It’s so generous of Apple to keep accessory companies in business.
Apple, "yeah, we are minimalists.... Buy the dongles, and battery packs."
the dongles you need depemd on your workflows, in my case with the mac book pro I rarely need a dongle at all, others will need it probably more, but why would you need a battery pack? The macook air lasts longer than basicly any other laptop
@@thefynn That humpback whale battery pack/case that people put on their "sleek" iPhones...
And workflow.... Yeah, I totally want a laptop with only a charging part... Nothing else.
@@curlyhairdudeifywell their current iphones and laptops have a way longer battery life than the competition and their port selection has greatly improved on their laptops while other laptops have a worse selection than before.
@@magnus9316 well its also worth noting that the port selection is only improved on the pro models, on which it is very good, but on the air and m2/m1 air its not very good
@@tgvinfinite2607 did you look at the port selection of every other super thin laptop

Macbook won't charge with 100W even if you plug it in 100W brick. Why? It limits how much power it can take to save the battery from overheating and dying. So yeah, use charger that it came with.
Actually; the 14” MBP charges up to 100W, and 16” MBP charges up to 140W.
But you are correct in that the M2 MBA in the video only charges up to 67W. However; not correct in the wider sense of MacBooks.
But if you wanna charge Mac and smartphone and some other devices you need watts
honestly, u should go with the option of 67W bruick by apple for an additional 20 dollars. Most value for money imo
I personally use iPad 20w charger with my map 14" to save my battery degradation
Please dont create fake advertisements. Apple m2 air can only support 1 external monitor with this dock, so don’t advertise it having 2!
DisplayLink disagree with you
@@lorem4811 it's a workaround with a few disadvantages, not a complete fix of the situation.

@@unknownperson3691 ok but thats software thing, we're talking hardware here.

Satechi is one of the best 3rd party accessories business in the world. I call it "Remora Fish Business", we don't need to be a Shark and compete Apple, but let's be one of their ecosystem as remora fish, that will be compatible with the shark.
Make compatible products, how to be compatible with WFH (setup desk accessories), compatible with aesthetic hype (home decoration accessories), compatible with professional iPhone photography (Sandmarc accessories).
Isn’t this an ad ?
Caution, only one HDMI port will work on M2 MacBook Air as per apple’s spec.
I was so mad when i found out haha
It is the same with the M1 chip. You need a M1 pro, M1 max, M2 pro or M2 max to have two external displays.
@@ojciec-Pij0it doesn’t always work as advertised.
thanks for rasing awareness. i almost lost my fuckin money if i didn't see this comment lol
i think you can use two when the macbook is in clamshell mode
1. The Laptop you are using (MacBook Air M2) supports only one external monitor 2. The 70 Watt Apple charger costs like 20€ extra
You can use more than 1 external monitor, but you need a hub with display link, it will be a bit more expansive than video's one
All the Satechi products combined : “Your account has been debited with 600 euros”
just save up if you cant buy them and they are rally high quality imo
yea cables and dongles worth 600 euros only a 100 euros more than my windows laptop with 8 gb of ram and 528 gb of strage plus it's upgradable
I highly agree I use anker products for my MacBook
Buy your own problems. Buy your own solutions.
There is no problems
@@KaneCarsoHAHAHAHA
I don't have all these accessories for my M1 MBA. I use it with an extern USB-C monitor at my office and at home. Charging, data transfer, video, etc... everything is possible via one cable. Printing and Scanning work via wifi. My iPhone 12 mini is my webcam via continuity cam. The AirPods Pro are responsible for the audio in- and output. So I cannot complain about dongles.. 🤷♂️
won't get 2x 4k monitors on that air 😬
it can
You can
Can you plug in 2 external monitors using this extension on MacBook Air?
@@LukaszS1 no, you can only use one external monitor. the M2 MacBook Air only has two display channels. one for internal display and one for an external- the two above replies are incorrect.
@@callum.mcdowellexactly, and it's a well known M2 (not Pro, not Max) limitation.
does this multimidea adaptar / hub allow us to expend the number of external monitors extending the display or just by mirrioring?
Good question, I hope this gets answered
You can only connect one Monitor with the mac book air
MacBook air (all M1 and M2 Macs) only support 1 screen, no matter if mirrored or extende. You nedd a dock with dual link to use 2 screens.
Isn't it so frustrating that that you need all these dongles and accessories when just 10 years ago all that what built in to any MacBook? So annoying
Me with my broken HP laptop:
Sad 😬😬😬😬
You are not wrong.A docking station or hub helps a lot for new macs with only c ports.Official made apple products for computers are less in number but are great too
Imagine if apple just added hdmi and 3 usb.
Well, 2 usb will be enough for most users the air is designed for, HDMi would be nice, but it's to big to fit into the case. Compare the Pro (with Hdmi) and the air, where would that gigantic plug go?
Sure that'll be an extra $1700. Lol
I have an Asus laptop (forgor model) thats has like 6 ports, 2 HDMI, 1 micro USB, 2 USB and 1 USB C, its a bit old being why It has only one USB C as It wasnt as common like now
@@-GLaDOS- my (slow af) 2023 laptop also only has one USB-C
Satechi is such a good brand for apple products. A bit more expensive than other options in my opinion, but a really good brand.
Yes, I personally have a MacBook Pro 16 inch m3 pro it’s great
Or... You could just get the MacBook Pro 14" and buy a Ethernet Adapter, and an external SSD.
they have fans tho which sucks when recording audio
@@certifiedl6ner Well, at least the fans avoid it from melting. (No slur intended, It just wouldn't suit my needs) also the fan on MBP is really silent, you would only notice if you're doing really heavy tasks.
@@VoidPaul97 They don't really get that hot they only run on like 30 watts. The MacBook Pro runs hotter that's why it needs the fans. But yeah you're right the Fans are silent and most people are fine with that so why not go with the better performance.
its almost like the macbook pro 14 is more expensive
@@tgvinfinite2607 The base model MBP 14" has really good specs. 12 Core CPU, 10 Core GPU, 16GB RAM (unified memory), and 512GB SSD. And it has a decent price for what you get.
But even pro models can het more than 1 external screen with this hub, so you have to use hdmi or other C usb for other screen to work! But it works perfectly with windows pc when you put this hub.
Wait you can connect 2 monitors with the M2 Air?
Noo 😂
@@Bunny-ho8bi why not
you can't
No you can't. This is a misleading pseudo add video.
I use this adapter and yes, it enables you to get 2 external displays. It comes with Instantview app to make 2 external displays possible.
The best laptops are the ones that don’t need dongles
Yeah, I aint carrying all that sh*t.
Those are optional accessories tho. I only have it at home, on my stationary desk, when I need more than 1 monitor.
I bring only my Mac everywhere just fine.
Any windows based laptop is a thousand miles away from even being considered “the best laptop”
@@MarkTheCat that’s a bit over exaggerated… It’s just what you prefer (I prefer Mac, but for gaming, windows is basically the only option)
@@pretty_bored for gaming - yes. but choosing laptop for gaming is the worst way to enjoy games, i think.
it’s not even the concept of laptop gaming, it’s just sheer awful build quality of every single so called “gaming” laptop i’ve seen in my life. every vendor will always choose to use the cheapest most soft plastic, the worst screen in its class, and it’s always heavy, very hot and very loud. and don’t even get me started on preinstalled bloatware if it’s a windows based laptop.
Most HDMI only support up to 4k 30hz and not 60hz, so be careful or it may cost you a lot of money if you learn about it to late like i did
And for the people that will ask if it makes a difference, yes it does
Hi! Is there any USB-C Hub in Starlight color from Satechi? Thank you.

You gotta be careful with those adaptors, last one fried the logic board of my macbook pro..twice.

These are so freakin hot, like literally you can use them as Mug Heaters 🔥🔥🔥

„i love apple, but what i love more is an unannounced ad“
I have the usb c hub and it matches the space gray MacBook air perfectly
My ugreen revodok 7 in 1 usb c hub is cheaper and much smaller, and it has your exact features, but with a 100W PD usb c and just one useless hdmi port instead of 2.
The adapter life 😂😂😂
Then buy a MacBook Pro.
Is the hub displaylink? The m2 air only supports one external display and the only way it seems you can get around that is a displaylink supported device
This is the equivalent of in game purchases. It’s insane how many companies Apple props up by just keeping crucial ports off.
While buying the laptop you can choose for a 75watt charger at no extra cost instead of the 30 watt charger
you just single handedly solved my mac upgrade challenge 😮
I'm waiting when Apple will exclude SSD to make Macbook more 'affordable' and provide it as an accessory.
No prices disclosed and not disclosing it’s an ad is crazy
Uh the m2 air only supports 1 external display. So having 2 hdmi ports doesnt help.
I bought this with my apple and it's a must have reccomended
I had the power adapter and last just 3 months. I was a big fan of satechi, but then not sure. I also have a hub working well, and an iphone cable that is not that good as belkin or anker.
It’s so expensive maybe because they added 1 more extra port best cables design and very good quality
Nice I love with apple name and products because apple is in trending❤❤
I love that color of the MacBook Air I want them to make the MacBook pros in that color way
Satechi is unmatched
Apple Forever❤
dang taht is use full for someone who is working as a editor for some youtuber and for someone who is doing some mega project
MacBook Air is meant to be mostly used as a standalone device for personal or academic use, not like a professional workstation. It is better to just buy Pro model than wasting money on hubs.
I'm really more of a Windows user due to games and other functionality, but boi that matte black laptop is really aesthetic as fuck
should we use screen protector cause if we use then it is harmful if we do not then screen scratches
??? confused help me???
No one even remembers that thunderbolt was designed to be able to pass-tgrough gpus.
It has 2 HDMI Ports. Does it use something like displayport? Or is it just duplicating those screens?
You can hate all you want but apple products beauty and quality is unmatched
Two mirrored hdmi monitors. They don’t tell you that. You only get multiple displayed from a proper dock not this hub.
Nice but usb-c external soundcard doesnt work and same usb-a midi piano keys and tuch pads from novation. Power is ok but macbook m2 cant find these devices :( maybe is not compatible with new thunderbolt ports. I tested satechi slim mini
When your buying your MacBook you can upgrade to 70w for like $20
You wouldn't need this *Ad* if the laptop had some actual "PORTS"
And ICYMI (maybe I'm not fully updated on it), the base M series chips on the MBA only support *One (1)* external display.
There may be workarounds like DLA, but I doubt it's as "easy/simple/intuitive" & "plug-n-play" as hooking up 2×4k monitors through that dongle, unlike the words iSheep like to use.
they could make insertable ssd into that multimedia adapter. I could be all in one solution.
I got a Satechi usb port for my 2017 mac pro a few years ago, and it’s so annoying to use. The cable keeps disconnecting if you nudge it ever so slightly, beacause it doesn’t fit properly, and it also interferes with my mac’s wifi, so much that I sometimes have to pull the dock out in order to use the wifi. Absolutely garbage, but maybe their newer products are better idk.

I also have a m2, it’s a competition and it makes like 450 whp
Awesome video 😊
The m2 macbook air cannot actually output to 2 external monitors at the same time. So the 2 hdmis are not ncessary
No headphone jack on iphone, no HDMI and USB ports on mackbook air. Apple's policy is "Focus on making the product good looking, even if it means doing away with basic functionality."

Congrats, you now have an overheating brick next to your laptop. I have one of those (smaller model) and they get as hot as the surface of the sun. Just using HDMI out and one usb mouse.
I love apple products too.
I LOVE AVACADOS
This double HDMI dongle is a super shit. I hade M1 Pro and after plugin it to macbook first screen looks like 10x loss JPEG compression and second one like 1000x loss JPEG compression.
3screens with M1Pro is a dream, maybe with official apple products.
warning: you cant run 2 monitors on the base M2 chip, you would need to get a MacBook pro with the M2 Pro chip to be able to connect more than one external display
How is your MacBook so dark?!

You know it's an ad when someone has a whole box of the same products, and it's a brand you've never heard of before. Satechi lmao
Them long wall chargers suck, get yourself the box ones that are 40W and they are 🔥
My experience i made with Third party Adapters is… your macbook recognize this and the Connection fails while data trasfers
"Lighting" and "Thunderbolt"
This change could have happened in a flash, but Apple wanted to wait

Yeah, I'd love to connect my thousand dollar laptop with products that rhyme with sketchy.
I bought an accessory for MacBook Air… a gaming laptop!
Two HDMI ports are great, but apple provides only one monitor support to all the Macs except 14'' and 16" pro
Since when does the MCA has avaibility to use to screens via hdmi ?
@JorgePowell does the multimedia adaptor allow split screen? ie Screen 1 & Screen 2 or just mirroring one screen?
