It is such a relief to hear professor James verbalize all my silent concerns... "we need to rekindle" ... i.e. we need to understand some facts not truths not beliefs NO faith involved .... 1+ 1=2 .... I feel like I've been trying to walk through deep mud since 2020 because my usual faith is in question ... actually diminished is the right word ... and it has weakened me to be in such Flux.,.. I dont know where to place my feet in all this mud ... im on pause not knowing which way to go

A very interesting conversation about a fascinating topic that I have been tracking since 1970. I think one of the problems about human societies is that they are, of course, very hierarchical and those at the top of those various hierarchies are looked to for answers. Because thay are constantly looked to for answers, leaders come to to view themselves as handlers of those farther down the hierarchy. And furthermore, those father down in the hierarchies are often happy to be handled as it is too much for them to think on their own. For me, this largely explains why people seem so blasé about UFOs, paranormal phenomena, and all manner of amazing and literally out of this world phenomena. Most people don’t encounter the world directly or think about it on their own and for themselves. They are used to things being presented to them, especially since the advent of television and the Internet, and now even more so with artificial intelligence. In some ways, people don’t know the difference between the real world and the one that is fed to them. I think our handler’s, i.e. those who head all the various governments, universities, corporations, all the institutions, know when they look at UFOs,and other out of this world phenomena that they themselves can’t handle how his disrupts their roles as handlers. They don’t have the wherewithal to tell people about it all, as that would be outside the hierarchical arrangements that human societies have set up
I've noticed that Catholic institutions are more likely to have offerings in the thought of C.G. Jung and analytical psychology. It is not that they are less rigorous or less scientific. It's that their concern with spiritual and religious life makes them more open to things that are ignored by contemporary scientism. They are not as afraid of things that defy current scientific orthodoxy.
I`m relatively sure that the Pope knows. Guess that they just didn`t mention this to the congregations. The Papacy has the largest telescope in the world, as a result of their knowledge.
I hope that Pope Francis knows whatever is known about this subject at the highest levels in the intelligence communities of the major governments. (Although what's known may or may not be anything like what many of us have been lead to believe is known through popular UFO culture, even from seemingly credible sources such as David Grusch.) Many people know that the Catholic Church regards the possibility of intelligent extraterrestrial life as not in conflict with its theology. I wonder, though, if Church officials have thought about the implications of discovering living beings with minds that surpass ours and defy human comprehension. What if it turns out that such beings were involved in the origin of our species and are still around? A scenario like that would be problematic for many institutions.
As someone who went to Catholic school, I can verify that the scientific education I received was actually excellent. There’s none of the ridiculous skewing of information as you may see in some of these American fundamentalist schools - saying that the Earth is only 2000 years old etc., The emphasis on understanding the rigidity of the scientific method is really drilled into you. I may not have remained a practicing Catholic, but I was always grateful for what they gave me outside of religion.
Also check Padre Perdices. Mirando a la Lejanía del Universo. Father Perdices, a Dominican Friar and school teacher, observed a huge UFO over Valladolid, Spain, in 1967.As a result, he wrote a book called " Mirando a la Lejanía del Universo". In English...Staring into the depths of the Universe .
"It's about whether or not we have abdicated our lives to technological systems." All but a very few have. Most don't even realize it, most don't care. Ask the average person walking down the street, staring at their phone, and barely connected to so-called reality, if they care that they've done this. I fully expect they don't/won't. I fully expect you'd get answers such as "Whatever" or "I love my cell phone", etc. I don't mean to be cynical, but I think only the more thoughtful and sensitive members of the species would think about this, or care about it. I'm glad that Mr Madden has loosed that idea upon the world. Maybe it will gain traction.
What baffles me almost more than the phenomenon and its implications is the indifference I encounter whenever I venture to bring up the subject with family and friends. I just don't get it.

in reference to the conversation around 43:50 I learned a word recently that perfectly summarizes his point there. "Euhemerism" assumes historical accounts become myths as they are exaggerated in the retelling. Not purely allegorical, nor logical in all instances either as some parts are exaggerated to make the story seem more exciting. We already do that in modern media. I don't think it's a stretch to presume that some mythos may have a coeval origin point but thousands of years pass, the story is exaggerated to the point its filled with superstitions, and the evolution of language makes it appear as something else completely. I often think Christians like Eucebius may have come to similar conclusions. Still... it's clear not all things can be explained away as mere superstition or mythology...

Fact check. I had previously read Merton died from electrocution while showering. Just now I read he died of a heart attack possibly the result of electric shock from a faulty fan. Possible foul play? Seems that was never proven.
According to Matthew Fox he spoke with three ex-CIA agents who were associated with the case: one wouldn't comment, another tacitly acknowledged interference and a third corroborated it (murder). It happened on a day when Merton spoke in Vietnam about having greater ecumenical interaction with Buddhist monks in a speech Also apparently there was never an autopsy.
This from "America's Next Great Awakening" pp. 171-172: On the last day of his life in Bangkok he said, “I believe that by openness to Buddhism, to Hinduism, and to these great Asian traditions, we stand a wonderful chance of learning more about the potentiality of our own traditions, because they have gone, from the natural point of view, so much deeper into this than we have.” Merton died later that afternoon from apparent electrocution by a fan in his room. Suspicious circumstances and the absence of an autopsy have led several authors, including Matthew Fox, to contend that Merton was murdered at the hands of the CIA due to his anti-Vietnam War stance.

I found the Book of Urantia on this channel. It explains the best answer on the things I've been encountering for over 55 years starting at a very young age. Demons, aliens, Angels and who Jesus Christ is and why he HAD to be born on Earth as a human. It also gives the best explanation on why Earth and us are so completely fcuked up. I don't agree with all of it but damn....it hits the mark much more than ANYTHING else I've read. God is so much bigger than we've ever imagined and Hesus Christ is second in power only to his father, the one and true almighty God. Also Lucifer is an insane asshole that just fcuked us and the other planets that fell with him. It wasn't supposed to be this way.
Re: Teilhard de Chardin, wasn't the character in Shoes of the Fisherman, Fr. Telemond, played by Oskar Werner, loosely based on him? In the 1960's in some Catholic circles, he was recognized as having some interesting ideas. I say "some Catholic circles" because Bishops generally did not want to hear about him. Bad for the resume, so to speak. Oddly it was not because of his ideas on biologic evolution, which are generally no longer given credence, but because of his spiritual ideas.
You make the excellent point, in saying that we have no idea what is going on. I have been a UFO researcher for many years, and I have no idea, apart from half guesses. Yes, we may be co-inhabitants of earth. Additionally, the phenomenon certainly contains paranormal activity. Fact check. I had previously read Merton died from electrocution while showering. Just now I read he died of a heart attack possibly the result of electric shock from a faulty fan. Possible foul play? Seems that was never proven.

This from "America's Next Great Awakening" pp. 171-172: On the last day of his life in Bangkok he said, “I believe that by openness to Buddhism, to Hinduism, and to these great Asian traditions, we stand a wonderful chance of learning more about the potentiality of our own traditions, because they have gone, from the natural point of view, so much deeper into this than we have.” Merton died later that afternoon from apparent electrocution by a fan in his room. Suspicious circumstances and the absence of an autopsy have led several authors, including Matthew Fox, to contend that Merton was murdered at the hands of the CIA due to his anti-Vietnam War stance.

I found the Book of Urantia on this channel. It explains the best answer on the things I've been encountering for over 55 years starting at a very young age.

It also gives the best explanation on why Earth and us are so completely fcuked up.

Re: Teilhard de Chardin, wasn't the character in Shoes of the Fisherman, Fr. Telemond, played by Oskar Werner, loosely based on him? In the 1960's in some Catholic circles, he was recognized as having some interesting ideas. I say "some Catholic circles" because Bishops generally did not want to hear about him. Bad for the resume, so to speak. Oddly it was not because of his ideas on biologic evolution, which are generally no longer given credence, but because of his spiritual ideas.

You make the excellent point, in saying that we have no idea what is going on. I have been a UFO researcher for many years, and I have no idea, apart from half guesses. Yes, we may be co-inhabitants of earth. Additionally, the phenomenon certainly contains paranormal activity. (I have experienced this myself) This is an ideal topic for a man as mentally keen as James is demonstrating himself to be., and I have most recently regained my faith, directly as the confrontation with the UFO reality.
Certainly, from the viewpoint of sovereignty, therein lies the ontological terror perhaps? However, the Pope and the Jesuits do not appear to have any problems with this. Possibly because they have 3 observatories around the planet. (Psst, astronomers see these things but mustn't mention them.)
