Gaz-You get my respect for even tackling that dogs breakfast , your digestive system must be in top form. Pity that Pukka who once produced such excellent pies now produce such over priced rubbish. Just shows how these companies think that we Brits will eat anything, time to prove them wrong.
I bought a Pukka pie from asda last week , it was a pie for two . Steak and ale and the photo on the box looked very appealing . I cooked it and it was mostly gravy . The ingredients showed 16% beef . Now by law a sausage must have more than 52% pork ... so how on earth do they get away with this disgraceful behaviour 16% beef is not a beef pie it's a beef flavour pie ,😢
First of all Steve get well soon mate. There’s a lot of us know serious illness and we are all praying for your recovery. 🙏 I’m not going to be all that popular with the pie but I thought it was grand. Gaz scoffed the lot. Ok I know he was looking for the missing stuffing balls but maybe they just disappeared into the gravy during the cooking process. It’s not a real Xmas pie but for 2 quid I’d give it a go. 👍
Finally, a well filled pukka pie. It's also great that it's got the backing of ladbaby who have given back to the community and country charitably in many ways over recent years. I hope it sells well for the charity aspect 👍

I am a pie connoisseur and that does not make the grade, best pies are from Bakers and Butchers, these mass produced things are just inferior. Thanks for the review though, as usual you do such a great job. 😊
Hi Gareth from Spain. Your reviews help to reinforce my long-held view that one should always make one's own - you know what's gone into them then. The first full meal I ever cooked was a steak and kidney pie and nobody in the family knew I was going to make it. It went down a treat.
Writing this before seeing your take on this, I make pies in a butchers for a living, and always find mass produced stuff like this is always made to a cost for profit and therefore lacks in taste and/or quality.
Thought we'd give these a try today - wife thought they were OK but I wasn't impressed. I'm of an age were I remember buying Pukka pies from the "Pie Wagon" outside the old Snow Hill station in Birmingham whilst waiting for the next "all nighter" bus after coming out of the city night clubs. Those were the days when Pukka made proper decent pies.
Thank you Gaz for doing this pie review 👍❤️ I'll give it a go, only because you ate the lot, and I'll be on the hunt for the stuffing too 😂 Wishing Steve aww the best and a speedy recovery 🤗❤️
First off, sorry to hear about you condition Steve. I hope you can make a full recovery. I have never been a fan of Pukka pies and this one seems to be just a seasonal marketing push. I would have thought it would have turkey rather than chicken? Another great video that saves me money. 👍
Another cracking review Gareth, where's the stuffing! Had me in stitches 😂, love your channel, my stepson Liam does a cracking impersonation of you, well how you doing out there! Good stuff 👍
I agree about the filling size especially nowadays pukka isn’t Filling the pies that much had a mince beef and onion one the other day and it was vacuous but other than that another banging review Gaz
Hi again Gareth. On the subject of stuffing, This weekend I shall be putting our stuffings togather for Chrissy Mouse. I put all the dry ingredients together and put them in the freezer so that when the time comes, I only have to add the wet ingredients and we're off. We will be having parsley, thyme and lemon plus sage and onion. We also do something that the missus introduced which involves a bed of sweet potato topped by pineapple rings with a marshmallow in the hole.
I'll be 51 in the next few days, Gaz. Regular exercise is a must at our age to try and ward off the dreaded stroke. It killed my grandad at 67. Great video as per usual.
Get well soon, Steve. 🙏 Strokes are horrible, but you can get better - I won’t derail the discussion, but I know people who have recovered. The pie looks all right for a quick snack, and the price is reasonable for what you get, but it is nothing like Christmas dinner. For one thing, you would not wrap all the bits and pieces of Christmas dinner up into pastry and eat them all mixed up together. Quite nice as a change from the usual meat pies, though.
Stop hunger with THIS pie 😋 brilliant, I love a pukka Steak n Kidney, so I'm going out to try and get one of these, all the best for the chap who had the stroke, best wishes for a good recovery, think I'll put a pie crust over my Xmas dinner, Spot On idea. Great reviews !
It's probably one big hopper full of the filling and when it's injected into the casings on the production line not all ingredients make it in,we sell a lot of different Pukka products and I quite enjoy them, another good review Gareth,I won't be rushing out to buy that one
I used to like their steak and kidney pie, but the meat got rarer and rarer and more gristly until I gave up. I still buy the chicken and mushroom one occasionally.
Gareth, I find that the traditional Pukka pies like mince & onion and steak and kidney plus the pasty are really good, but when they go off piste with newer more adventurous recipes, they are not so good. I think it is best sticking with their basic core range of pies.
Apologies for not watching the whole video or reading all the comments, but that couple on the pie packaging are LadBaby, who've had five festive UK number ones for that charity since 2018 (two of the hits managing to drop completely out of the UK chart after one week at number one), most of the songs being rewrites of big hits in order to mention sausage rolls.
Great review Gaz I didn’t know we had changed from turkey to chicken for Christmas dinner I most of missed that one and no roast spuds either and the sausages looked like 💩 and here we go £2 for a pie O dear it’s a good job there was plenty off sausages to fill it up the sausage casserole pie 🤣 keep up with thee great review mate 👏👏👍👍
All the best to Steve I know about ill health as many will do, its not much fun that is for sure. Oh if its festive there has to be a bit of sage and onion. But they are mechanically filled so it depends what's in the tube at the time but seemed well filled apart from the rubbish sausage. Bit of a pity it failed to hit the mark mind.
The MSG puts me off straight away. Ever since we discovered it had adverse affects on my late mum, products using it were never added to my shopping basket.
Not for me Gareth, it seems they want to put stuff in a pie that is much better when placed normally on a plate. Another good video to show what you get for your money though. 😁
The missing stuffing is probably down to the manufacturing process, stuffing will have been added to the bulk fill mix but as the pies are filled by machine its not guaranteed to hit every pie.
I ordered this on my last tesco shop and it didn't come it was substituted with chicken and mushroom pies. It looks alright to me ill try popping in store seeing if they have any
That reminds me, I'll have to keep an eye open for Morrisons, they usually do a festive bake and a Christmas dinner pasty... hopefully they'll still do them this year.
Gareth it costs £2,what do you expect? I'd rather send the Trussel Trust the whole 2 nicker and not eat the 🥧. As said before sadly some folks have to buy this *^%*&*##*# Any way mate you took another one for the team😢We salute you ,we thank you and will hope you get a better feed next time ❤Allan&Family
Surely if they had wanted to sell as many pies as possible because some of the money is going to the charity then it should have been available in most supermarkets and not just Tesco. I would have been keen to buy and try it if it was available in the supermarkets where I mostly shop. At least I found out early on that it's only being exclusively sold in Tesco, otherwise I would have looked for it when I do my online grocery shopping at other supermarkets.
Get well soon Steve xx my friend had a stroke 5weeks ago she is still in hospital but is doing ok. All the best.. and well done on the review Gareth but don’t think I’ll bother with that lol. X
Looks like this one has been rebranded this year as the 'Festive Pie' as I got one from Morrisons the other day, was lucky as it was the last one in the shop as well, was rather nice actually 😋
Have to say, I thought the same including, just WHY would anyone WANT to?! They are disgusting and mega over priced ALWAYS! Would not touch Pukka with a bargepole!!!!
Definitely shopping at Aldi from now on tried that pizza Detroit with Coulslaw lush thank u I got weekly shop for just under 50.00 for 2 of us amazing haven’t tried there soap powder laundry ones yet but going try it next week soap powder getting so expensive
Looks like they’ve still not sorted their fillings out, good job. It’s same for the standard pies too and I’ve stopped buying them for 2 pieces of meat and some air! Brand name going down toilet.. Great content bud as always, cheers 🍻
One of the best pies ive had from a supermarket. Was a " range stew" pie. That Morrisons did for a little while. Its a pity they dont still do it😢. Their steak pies in short crust pastry is ok though.
Ah you meant the Tesco pigs in blanket topped steak pie review & that’s the one ill think I’ll try over this pukka Xmas pie….thanks for reviewing it though Gareth 😁👍
Love the vid Gaz. Have to say that looked a lot better than I would have expected. It's great they're charitable but come on, it's a far cry from xmas dinner isn't it

Thank you for what you do. I was homeless for a while and the local food bank helped me.
Now more food banks in the UK than ever before. Tories=poverty for the vulnerable while the 1% are licking it.

The curious case of the missing stuffing balls. 😂
It was a balls-up.

I agree should have stuffing in the pie shame really I would prefer a roast dinner on the plate . Get well soon Steve .

Certainly does. One minute you're watching Bagpuss, the next, you've got an old git looking back at you while you shave 🤣
Get well soon Steve 👍🏼
A Christmas pie with chicken? Not turkey ? I’m lost 🤦🏼♂️😂
Cheers for the review Gaz 👍🏼🇬🇧🇬🇧
Chicken cheaper to produce. Although there seems to be a lot of ingredients in it.
Well we have chicken for Christmas.
@@xr6lad We have tooin the past, we’re getting lamb this year (from our butcher)
Given the choice, I'd rather have a decent chicken over turkey.

For the home alone this Christmas. I wouldn't mind that with some veg and gravy.
I will stick to my local butchers his pies are gorgeous, I'm looking forward to getting my xmas game pie 😋😋😋
I'll stick to making my own.

More to come!
Im going to love these, and im a huge fan of the trussle trust and ladbaby so hope it does well
What? No sprouts or roasties? Get well soon Steve, God Bless.
It does need some sprouts for colour. It looks a bit dull colour-wise. Some cranberry sauce?
Looks like sausage and carrot pie to me😁
BFG, you are the funniest ❤Ben from Perth Aus. Ps casual 101 degrees yesterday! Winter here we come lol

best wishes STEVE, we’re all sending lots of greetings & wishing you well very soon. 😊
50 mins from frozen in the oven, id imagine it would cost more than the pie itself to cook it!

The used to be lovely, sadly no more.

I really enjoy watching your videos
Glad you like them!
Shouldn't it be turkey for Christmas?
Take the box back Gaz with the receipt…. Tell them it was faulty! No Bacon or Stuffing!! Top Video as always mate ….. Smithy
Thanks 👍
I could be wrong - but was there no stuffing !!?
I loved it. It sells out quickly in my tesco
hows this xmas dinner ?
get well soon steve
There should be a drinking game where every time you say stuffing we take a shot. We’d be leathered by 8 minutes in! We do love you though….😂
I will try it…and there’s a donation to charity,so I’m all for that 🙌☺️👏🏻👏🏻
try the stuffing and gravy pot noodles from Asda
Will do
Get well soon Steve! 🙋
Where's the Turkey ? Chicken and stuffing mush. or maybe No stuffing in the mush.and very little chicken apparently 😊
few months back bought a pukka chicken and mushroom pie, with no mushrooms in it ?? complained and they sent me some vouchers ??
Pukka? More like YUKKA!
I'll see myself out...😂
Ah you meant the Tesco pigs in blanket topped steak pie review & that’s the one ill think I’ll try over this pukka Xmas pie….thanks for reviewing it though Gareth 😁👍
That's the one mate
Love the vid Gaz. Have to say that looked a lot better than I would have expected. It's great they're charitable but come on, it's a far cry from xmas dinner isn't it
Yes not remotely like a Christmas dinner
