Just ran the M18 chainsaw against the 80v Greenworks 18in saw. On a 16 inch log, (not sure what kind of wood it was, but it was tough to cut) with brand new chains. The greenworks took (my best) 30 seconds to get through. The milwaukee took (my best) 18 seconds to get through. Now, that was with the 12ah battery that has the newer 21700 cells in it. The milwaukee using 5ah battery with the 18650 cells was very very poor. So the battery makes a big difference when those bigger cells can dump the juice. Now greenworks plans on releasing an 80v battery with 21700 cells in it, but at the moment the batteries are just the standard 18650 cells. I should also note that the M18 saw cut out quite a bit if we pushed it to hard. Where as the Greenworks is a torque monster and almost refused to stall out.
I used to use two of the Dewalt chainsaws, 18v & also the 54v version (UK) and ended up ditching them both and reverting back to the Stihl petrol chainsaw. The battery powered ones have their advantage but Stihl petrol chainsaws are SO much more powerful and faster. Each to their own I guess !
I love milwaukee tools, why I love milwaukee tools because I can show up to a job early in the morning and not wake up neighbors like I would with the loud chainsaws so know I can get an early start.
There's room for both technologies nowadays. They both have their advantages at this stage. If I can get away with the same performance I'll go battery every time. I'm at that stage in life where I prefer having nearly zero maintenance and I hate going to the gas station for fuel.

I've got a Milwaukie chainsaw and I'm kind of disappointed. It does have power and cuts a long time with a 12ah battery, but it throws chains more easily than any other saw I have had, and I've had about 20. Also that 3/8" LP chain is not tough at all. Hit some dirt with it and you'll have to do some serious filing or grinding to get your edge back. I'd really like to see this saw set up with a better bar mount and a standard 3/8" pitch chain. It would be somewhat slower, but I think it would be a better saw.
