Overall, looks great. Seems promising. I just wish they could've slashed the weight by at least 10-15 kgs. And also, I don't think it's really necessary to stick the tripper pod in every RE bike from now. I think in this case, the twin pod cluster would've gone better with the scrambler styling.

That's what happens when you are used to getting the bare minimum. Even though they have the advantage of not having to pay import taxes, they still aren't innovating. The same engine put into what, like 4 bikes now? And the tired old 350 into the other bikes. The new Himalayan has the same issues as the older one had at the start. @thehungking still they're VFM if you look at the pricing there are no other options. VFM is the point here. I just hope the price isn't substantially higher than the og interceptor since this is the first performance oriented 650 instead of just being a cruiser with a different appearance.
This looks about 95%, that said, a road test will tell the tale. One thing I really dislike is the black engine paint. If you want to emulate the old Triumph/BSA/Norton desert sled/scramblers, the engines were all polished aluminum. The gearing is wrong for a scrambler, it should be a a couple teeth larger on the rear to provide a snappier response, a easy fix though. Overall, it looks promising, we'll see.
Everyone said my 1982 Triumph Tiger Trail 750 was too heavy, had too little suspension travel. It had a big rear sprocket so it was geared pretty high. I took it trail riding with Yamaha 400 trail bike riders. I had to give one a lift back to camp up a steep, rocky trail, after he injured his arm. Not a problem. Just put a larger rear sprocket ⚙️ on this bike for better off road riding.
Nice to see that they have moved the rectifier to the front of the engine instead of being under it, which was prone to overheating due to the heat sink getting covered in dirt and mud.
I am sure there will be scrambler based on the 450 platform as well. it's just a matter of time. scramblers as a product category is increasingly getting popular in the US and European markets.
