This video covers terms like:
- WBS
- Milestones
- Baselines
- Triple Constraint
- Project Life Cycle
- Gantt Chart
- CCB
- Stakeholders
- Change Management
- Risk Mitigation
Just one observation about Project life Cycle: The generic life cycle structure is often referred to when communicating with upper management or other entities less familiar with the details of the project. It should not be confused with the Project Management Process Groups, because the processes in a Process Group consist of activities that may be performed and recur within each phase of a project as well as for the project as a whole. Watched this 8 years ago, and it is still very relevant today!
Thank you for this detailed, yet not long-winded description of these terms. It was easy to understand and put into use.
Thanks Kimberly, we appreciate the kind words :)
I loved your project resume. It sounds like a 10 step technic for me, but in a clear way!
Excellent video for actual project managers position or to be used in PM training, I dare to propose that Continuos Improvement can be added as a tool, maybe under de Change management category. Thanks
Thank you for putting together such a clear and concise presentation. I look forward to watching more of your videos!
Thanks for an awesome presentation Jennifer on the 10 Ten Terms that Project Managers Use. I found the information presented was logical and clear. Well done!
Really concise and informative. Thank you, Ma'am!
Great explanation done in simple terms. Easy to follow.
So happy to hear you enjoyed it!
really clear and structured. For me as junior in PM very valuable information. thank you
Hey Jennifer, what a great video for project management course students! I find a lot of them have trouble with the risk mitigation. This is a must watch for pgm's
this is the best PM video I have ever seen very clear and specific, thx!
Very helpful video. Excellent understanding of the subject matter, I like the way you articulate. Thank you!!
This is by far the best presentation on PMP i have seen. Thanks for your outstanding tutorial.
Thanks so much!
Thank you, Jennifer for a fantastic presentation on the 10 Terms Used by Project Managers. The content was logical and reasonable. Being familiar with these terms is beneficial, especially for new project managers. Thank you. Very beneficial for both job applications and our college course.
Wonderful! Very helpful both in our college course and for work applications.
Working in engr/mfg my best strategy for proj mgmt is expect 100% failure at every task then do other people's job. Curse/strength of an engr doing this role is the assumption/ability to be smart enough to do it all. Just the motivation is sometimes lacking. BTW. Great video. Motivating!
After listening to this video clip, I would say that it is useful and important for my daily work. So I do hope the poster will post mere video clips.
Thanks, you're the most smart from other speakers using that pictures, which so helpful for visualisation and comprehension
Your Project Lifecycle explanation sounds really like Project Management Phases.
and also definition of Baseline is not refer just to schedule
Nice presentation..Thanks!!
Recently Started the Project Management Diploma in Dublin. This video is really helpful and well explained!
I cannot understand but each concept but it's really feel good and I will watch this video many time until I could understand . Thanks Mam
Thanks Jennifer. It would definitely help aspiring PMs to keep these in mind. Just one observation - Higher body or authority for PMs should be PMO (Project Management Office) for project approvals and not CCB. In my opinion, CCB is part of Product Lifecycle Management for carrying out Hardware + Software changes.
Great video Jennifer - I've watched this loads of times!
Thank you Jeniffer for sharing this with us. That was a very interesting back to basics. I liked that term Change Management as a core knowledge for a PM to control the project constraints (in your case the example with scope).
About Project Risk Management, it is more than a plan. In fact Risk Mitigation is part of the Project Risk Management Response Planning process.
Good video for start. In my next assignment, I am going to be a project manager and I have to prepare myself with these technical words. A complete course is much needed for me to follow the subject more seriously. Specially the one which teaches MS Project.

Awesome high level explanation, loved it.
Really clear explanations of these terms. Thanks!
The triple constraint is time, cost and quality. scope is one of the attributes of quality. When a PM considers all quality aspects as part of the scope, you can use scope interchangeably with quality, but quite a few PMs drop certain necessary quality attributes in order to make the scope of the project on time within approved costs. And then claim success.
I would argue that scope is in fact attached to all three aspects of the triple constraint. Scope defines the overall size of the Triple Constraint Triangle...1. The bigger the Scope, the more Cost that will be incurred; 2. The bigger the scope, the greater the time it will take to complete the project; 3. The bigger the scope, the more the Quality attributes that will need to be satisfied in the project.
