She looked gorgeous here
Never would have seen this if not for MST3K. Thanks Joel Hodgson and the crew. Instant happiness.
Every time I saw this on MST3K, I couldn't really understand what she was saying... until recently.
This audio is even better.
I swear, for years, I thought she was saying something like, 'Pooka dance'.
😂🙄
I don't care how much my favorite show riffs this movie, I really love this song.
Shocking, an actual good bit from"The Catalina Caper."
Carol Connors under her birth name of Annette Kleinbard was the lead singer of The Teddy Bears of To Know Him Was To Love Him fame in 1958 along with Phil Spector and Marshall Lieb. She wrote Hey Little Cobra for the Rip Chords and Co-Wrote the Rockey theme Gonna Fly Now with Bill Conti.
she's jewish?
Home of the Catalina wine mixer.
Many film guides confuse This Carrol Connors with the adult film star of the same name, who is the mom of actress Thora Birch.
For some reason.....I want to play beach volleyball after hearing this song.
Very nice performance.
Thks for sharing.
Just watched the MST3K group riff this sorry assed flick.
Me too.
@@leelevingatewho da hell and what??
Lyrics here:
"When a girls meets a boy
No one knows why
One moment she's happy
The next she'll cry
Love has never been figured
Mathematically
As the business of the heart's been
Biologically
The Book of Love (repeat)
I bet they'll learn (repeat)
Let's not rewrite it (repeat)
Let's not fight it (repeat)
Let's get together (repeat)
That's the way it should be (repeat)
Boys would love to think that makes the girls feel glad,
Say those things to bug them when the girls end up mad,
But they seem to get together now sooner or later,
When they finally do, there's just nothing any greater,
The Book of Love (repeat)
I bet they'll learn (repeat)
Let's not rewrite it (repeat)
Let's not fight it (repeat)
Let's get together (repeat)
That's the way it should be (repeat)
(Instrumental)
Girls would like to think that boys just don't understand,
Feminine schemes don't work out just how they planned,
The silly little things that almost cause us to break up,
Are all forgotten when finally they make up,
The Book of Love (repeat)
I bet they'll learn (repeat)
Let's not rewrite it (repeat)
Let's not fight it (repeat)
Let's get together (repeat)
That's the way it should be (repeat)
The Book of Love (repeat)
I bet they'll learn (repeat)
Let's not rewrite it (repeat)
Let's not fight it (repeat)
Let's get together (repeat)
That's the way it should be (repeat)
The Book of Love"
Misery Lit Media Are you sure it's not "a bestseller" instead of "I'll bet they'll learn"?
You're my hero! Thanks for the lyrics !!!
Great call on “bestseller”! Makes so much more sense
Why did the Titanic have to sink when this didn't?
Hey they grew up to be Jim and Tammy Baker
It says she's born in New Brunswick, NJ, same as Michael Douglass. Do you happen to know if it's St. Peters' Hospital by any chance???
Carol Connors was also in that Lesbians in Prison flick "Concrete Jungle"..or was it "Chained Heat"? LOL
This one of those "sounds", both the music and the vocals, that music has lost. It's terrible that with all the things that are considered nostalgic and "vintage" that maintain their value to modern musicians--we should be preserving this sound as well.
It's kind of funny, with ALL the MST3K terrible movies the bots helped us survive (and I have every one of them), this is one that I actually enjoyed for some reason. I think it's the scenery mostly. The plot wasn't AWFUL. It reminded me of my childhood in some ways, and there were a few funny scenes.
