@@disruptivebuilds Wait what. You legit answered to my comment 2 YEARS AGO??? And I DIDNT NOTICE?!?!?!? Keep up the great work man! I love your videos! Hope you'll still see this...
I have thalassophobia those pictures at the beginning are the stuff of nightmares to me. Ironically I love fish in general but deep water really freaks me out. Great job portraying it!
I've been to an ocean dropoff like that scuba diving before - the dropoff went from about 30-40ft deep to over 1000ft of depth. You completely couldn't see the bottom. We were actually warned not to go too far out because the deep blue is disorienting and can make you forget what direction is up.
I also did some scuba divine but i was in à small océan (4 metter - 10 metter) and there were 2 boats th1t sinked and 1 plane and sometime people put art and if you are w9ndering its the aquarium (name) at tahiti
I think the reason number 2 is so scarry is because there is something terrifying about something being where it shouldnt be. A statue at the bace of the ocean is equally as terrifying as a statue in the middle of the appalacian mountains or a lone statue in the middle of a dessert/tundra.
I went snorkeling last vacation and i was at a place that looked exactly like the first build, just normal terrain and a sudden gap. It was creepy yet beautiful at the same time.
The thing stopping these from being too creepy is that you feel like your on a normal dive, you have all the grass around you and the floor right next to you, a lot of the real videos especially in the submechaniphobia had the object, and just the ocean.. the vastness of nothing, no vision of anything but the machine…
i think the shaders made the thalassophobia less scary. I have an imense fear of the minecraft ocean alone, with a lot of loaded chunks especially. With the shaders, to be honest, the graphics are just nice and doesnt give any fear. Only when you dived below the boat there was an imense body of water, that scared the shit out of me
The images of the other oceans freak me out but the recreations don’t, which is odd considering the water in Minecraft really scares me. I think it’s the shaders. I’d love to see how they look without them
I was inspired by this video over a year ago. Tonight I build the Anglerfish coming out of the walls of my expanded ocean monument base :D Love this showcase DB!
I think I have this too, the Nether roof definitely freaks me out, I simply do not feel any version of comfort up there. Big fields freak me out too...like big enough that you can't see any buildings or fences. I also hate places with no trees.
Personally with submechanophobia it's more the _active_ stuff. Oil rigs? Flooded metro tunnels? Big woop. Drains? Pump impellers? Shafts? THAT'S where it's at! Delta P: When it's gotcha, it's GOTCHA!
For me it's the same. Anything that looks more mechanical and industrial gives me that fear. Like you said, propellers, things with moving parts. The Aurora in subnautica freaks me out, specifically the back, where you see the exposed thrusters. Oil rigs scare me personally, just an underwater view though, and the flood tower triggered something. Sunken ships don't do anything for me and pillars or flooded metros are pretty meh for me as well. I think scale is also super important, at least with how I experience submechanophobia. I get that sense of looming dread around giant, industrial underwater structures. Horizon Forbidden West has a sequence where you go underwater to get into a run down, futuristic bunker and it was *terrifying.* There were huge propellers and vents and it being underwater and all run down made it so anxiety inducing. Funny enough, I love the ocean and am not particularly afraid of open water. I get a bit disoriented when looking at super deep, foggy areas underwater, but beyond that, zero fear.
I think the shaders 100% take away from the fear with Thalassaphobia as someone who very much has it, it just makes it very bright and inviting VS creepy, would’ve liked to see all the edited versions as well throughout…
i do actually get spooked when boating over huge oceans in MC. i got freaked out just yesterday when making a 4-block deep pond and the water filled up around me as i kept filling in gaps. water scares me so much lol but i love swimming and the ocean. i just need other ppl to be around otherwise it fills me w dread to be near water. cannot say why lol
Phobias always make me want to test myself. Hiding in a closed closet. Walking through a darkened room. Looking up at the open sky, so you can’t see anything but the sky. Holding spiders. That said, I want to go to a deep water area and just float in it and slowly turn, looking in all directions. I guess I don’t have any phobias (though I don’t like dolls). But I enjoy being scared. What would you call that? A phobo-phile?
Nah, worst one to have is Automatonaphobia, the fear of wax figures/mannequins/and animatronics. I can't even walk into a dept. store without immediately walking out cause they terrify me. Ive seen enough horror movies, I aint fucken with no faceless and doll like creature from hell. You can also add dolls into the mix cause I guess they can count as animated objects, which I truly dont fuck with, I know the story of Annabelle, and Im good
Tbh I have thalasophobia mostly because of subnautica and I have the fear of hole’s watever that’s called Edited : Omg u actually mentioned subnautica I mostly skipped over here bc of the beautiful invention called the cyclops thx 4 mentions on my favourite game Thai deserves my subscription I also have a little submechanaphobia but it is mostly from the incredibly large propellers of ships it’s just scary it might be that im scared to get ripped into ground beef or I might say water beef by greeting sucked into them
I have thalassophobia and the entire time i was looking away from the screen lol the only one that didnt freak me out during the thalassophobia was the fish from iron lung.
The thing I hate the most is this: 2:37 I can not deal with that. real life, minecraft, stardew fucking valley I don't care, the switch from above to under water is TERRIFYING. Why? simple, you can't see shit when you're above, and it looks beautiful, which tricks your brain to relax, then you go under water and no matter how you do it, a thin layer of water will blurr your vision for a s nano second, which is already enough to make me go crazy, but wait, there's more, when you go under water, you see there is way more stuff going on there, maybe under you, maybe coming at you, watching you, behind you, there is a lot of free space there, it's dark, colossal and you can't escape unless you know how to fly, your movement is fucked up, your brain went from beautiful and relaxing to pure chaos in a nano second, and even if you realise all that, it won't change your situation. That, is my deepest fear and I love it. Yes I love to feel fear, don't askr me why, by the way, next time you do that or if you wanna trigger the talassophobia of everyone more harshly, put in survival mode with water breathing, your strict movement adds up a lot, and if you really wanna get in those persons deep fears, put the water breathing in 1 or 1:30 minute and keep opening up the inventory to show us the time passing by, slowly, as you talk about anything else like nothing is happening, we'll be staring at that clock as if our lifes depended on it. You can always make it worse, for example, with all that going on, you can forget at some point about the water breathing potion, and straight up continue to talk, we'll panic while we watch the bubbles pop, one by one, while noticing you have forgotten about the potion, and we're unable to warn you about it. Addin creatures or colossal structures could work as well, but I basically gave you a torture recipe for people with talassophobia. You're... welcome?
Bro about thalassophobia, i think everyone born with even 25% of it, becouse if you are in the sea, and see any shadow coming, you just die for yourself just of fear of whats coming i think xd
Thalassophobia... I scared with a lot of things, but this one is far more often. I tried to look at thalassophobia things cause I might be fine with it later. And honestly, it's getting worse. Did I do a wrong thing?
overcoming a fear by facing it is something I never understood, it would probably just give you flashbacks & anxiety when you look at those pictures. but its different with other people, if it makes you more scared don't do it, if you can take it then you're most likely not seeing the fear as scary anymore.
mine is getting worse, too. idk why. i am way more freaked by pool drains and the ocean than i used to be, but i still try to fight my fears so i think that means i am okay lol i think mine is worse cuz i spend way less time in the ocean and pools compared to childhood me
No offence, but even me, a huge thallisiphobia (im not gonna bother spelling that correctly) Didn't find the builds very scary. I think you needed to give a very birds eye pov on the ledge ones. And I think It looks to close to the surface.
Idea for the Forests: remove the fences for even creepier look! (fences give me the feeling of safety)
Honestly that's a really good idea! Wish I did that.

I think at the bottom of the ocean is much scarier.

One of the many pictures that trigger my submechanophobia is about a large wind turbine propeller being fully submerged in deep, kind of dark water.
I don't fear deep ocean and dark place... I afraid of what inside of it
Me to
Obviously, why else would you be scared?
@@TrueOracle drowning or being disoriented if you're deep enough, getting taken away by currents, the list goes on not just that.
Only fear I have related to water is Tsunami’s
