I really don’t know how people can live like this. It doesn’t take that much to maintain a acceptable level of tidiness. Who agrees?
It is absolutely DISGUSTING isn’t it! It’s shocking that enough ppl are this dirty they can make an entire series out of it….
It's usually mental disturbance over simple laziness. No well-adjusted, thriving individual would choose this.

I do believe these people have mental health conditions and they just feel depressed and demotivated to keep their homes clean and tidy in the first place.
Mostly it's because of mental health issues, not laziness.
This lady most certainly does have some.
I've used alot of their cleaning tips.They have worked do well,much cheaper than other cleaners.Thanks ladies miss seeing your show
Rose is so straightforward with her answers, it's actually heartwarming to see her house getting clean. I hope she kept it going.
I forgot to add, carpet in the bathroom is a no no, again keeping moisture and harboring mould.
@@chapman1569 absolutely, they would be better removing it and varnishing her bathroom floor so it's easy to wipe any moisture , stains or dirt etc
I agree with you, the bathroom is a damp place, carpet is just going to get dirty and unhygienic. A bathroom mat is one thing, carpet is another.

Let us face it a lot of people on this series were hopeless.
I’m happy that some singletons and some families on this programme thankfully kept their homes clean and tidy less than a week later or even months later when Aggie and Kim came to visit. 😃
It's because people like her need mental health professionals first, then cleaning professionals.

I absolutely love all their cleaning tips. It proves that you can clean anything with cheap ingredients and natural ingredients. They are amazing.

Rose reminds me of my Grandma she liked reading and doing crosswords though she did not clean because she was in a wheelchair, now she had a cleaner but on the other hand she had always been rather untidy.

I've been bingeing these episodes, thank you for uploading! These were my Uni days viewing, lots I hadn't watched. A lot of the people on this show probably have deep seated reasons why they have let their homes go to such disarray, they might be overwhelmed. Unfortunately Kim and Aggie's efforts might be undone, because they will likely not keep up the cleaning afterwards. It would have been helpful if the guests used this show as the chance for a big clear up before the show organised a chance to get a regular cleaner in. Good to watch Kim and Aggie sharing their savvy cleaning tips! x

12:32 - She legitimately has never seen the bottom of that cutlery drainer. Let me tell you guys something about what living an isolated life in a box for 24+ years will do to the mind. I've lived in a box for 8 years and I've even suffered from cognitive and mental decline from being disconnected from the outside world for so long. This can happen to anyone and it leads to habits like this that make most people go "how hasn't she figured that out by now?" It's sad, and no matter to take lightly. I'm only 32. She had to have been twice my age at the time this video was recorded so it's amazing she hasn't lost her diction at this point.

If Rosy Lovelady had hired a cleaner, then her house in Kensington, London would have been as clean and tidy as Aggie, Kim and their group of cleaners had left it back in 2004. 😃
Unfortunately she has now passed away, she continued to collect her crossword puzzles and hoarded them to the point where a tower of them collapsed on top of her and crushed her to death 😢

She's such a sweet woman and very honest! Hopefully, someone gave her a magazine with some tips in it on how to keep your home. She told them she didn't know how-she also didn't know WHEN to do things. Bless her-I hope it got easier for her.
As long as that magazine didn't have a crossword in it!

It’s very simple my Dear CLEAN UP AS YOU GO!!!!!
The musty smell is not only from the dirt but from a high humidity air., it makes dirt sort of greasy. A house with low levels of humidity would have dust that is lighter if I can say that. Cleaning is a must but maintaining a normal level of humidity is necessary to keep the level of spores low and inactive. She needs a dehumidifier, since the books retain a lot of humidity as well. The stairwell to her flat should be painted, but they didn't do that in the show.
This lady is hopeless. One of my friend is like that, I helped her over the years but she can never keep up, her place is cluttered to the brim, no area to sit on, the chairs are piled up, and trails to move from one room to another. She is still a friend but I am not involving myself in her mess.
I had a best friend for 34 years and I helped her no end of times - she was a shopaholic with mental health issues and hated cleaning. No matter how many times I helped her, within days it would be back to a filthy, cluttered state. I got her some counselling to deal with her issues but she would give up after a few sessions and wouldn't face what was really bothered her. She'd surround herself with things to feel secure. She will never change. I've moved to another county now so will not see her anymore but I know she will never change. So sad for her.

From what I read online, in recent years that Kim said that she held no grudges against Aggie any more, (which was accusing Aggie of non-existent grief when Kim is known for grief towards others instead), that they had fun on the programme and that they had made a few quid as well. 😄

Okay, I would throw away the grill pan and get a new one. No ammonia. Yes, so much easier to keep up with it. I guess she just wont change her way of living.
Even though I do not normally wear glasses, if I was working with ammonia (and I would normally never use ammonia unless I really had to) I would wear glasses to protect my eyes, a disposable face mask and gloves to protect my face and hands AND wash my hands thoroughly after use.

She s not all there,either....these people never change....you could put them in Buckingham Palace and the place would be a tip after a few days....great programme and love both presenters but what a disheartening job....still....their salary will certainly take the edge off it!!!!!!

No they’re not. Apparently they didn’t get along with each other and didn’t even speak to one another unless they were being filmed in the final year of taping this show. There’s information online if you want to pursue it in more detail.
@@lisakane6708 not often, the did film a further series in 2023 as a 'reunion ' of the two women as they had not spoken to each other off set in almost 22 years - but there were issues with licensing as the production company went into liquidation so unless another company can edit the recording we won't get to see them which is really sad.
This lady was raised in a home with staff I think! 😂

People with this level of filth in their homes will not automatically become cleaning freaks merely by having others clean and organize. Intensive therapy is necessary to explore their psyches in my humble opinion.
