🤷♂️What are YOUR thoughts on this issue??🤔**(Update)** Lin Yu-Ting did NOT appeal the IBA’s XY test result & Imane Khelif DID appeal the result but subsequently WITHDREW the appeal…
IBA is the world's last federation to conduct DNA tests and exclude DSD 46XY athletes from competing against women. The rest adhere to the IOC guidelines: The sex of a DSD athlete is determined by their passport and eligibility to compete against female athletes is based on testosterone levels. They are obligated to reduce their testosterone levels. It has been like this since 2012. So, certainly, there are DSD genetic guys who were misdiagnosed as girls at birth and now compete in elite sports against women. They are over presented in women's categories compared to the general population according to IAAF. It's been like that for the last 12 years! It is interesting to note that all sport bodies in charge of the most popular sports, such as athletics, swimming, rowing, wrestling, and weightlifting, have increased restrictions on transgender male to female athletes. Transwomen can currently participate against women in major competitions such as the Olympics if they have not experienced testosterone puberty. So, on the one hand, we have DSD 46XY genetic male affected by normal male testosterone puberty, misdiagnosed at birth as a girl and allowed to compete against women, and on the other, transwomen are prohibited. The International Olympic Committee continues to act like fools.
I think we should remain silent until the IBA clearly gives out the test report and let the players concentrate on the game instead of causing greater public pressure to affect them.
I am glad I found this video, just subscribed. You are level headed and logical, not to mention gorgeous. Like you say, this issue isn't hard. Just test them.
True. But also check their past and medical records. And also the one from Algeria is 100% female. Algeria is a muslim country where LGBT alphabet is a CRIME, if it was a male competing against females she/he would be representing the refugee team if she/he wanted to follow the dream of becoming a pro athlete
@1individeo I’m not sure if you watched the video but I addressed that. I don’t think Khelif identifies as trans or even knew about this until failing the test last year that showed XY chromosomes.
My thoughts r the same .. inter sex athletes, having physical traits of a man and hv high testosterone should not be allowed to compete with women . Its totally unfair. Its crazy that in Olympics they don’t hv a proper rule for this. They cannot just determine the sex of an individual just by looking at the passport. I just saw a bideo few days back .. where a man who is a coach for women bodybuilders .. competed in breaking the record for benchpress in women’s powerlifting .. bcus a trans women was holding the record, and he did this to show how bad and faulty the system is.
Yea, I remember seeing about that powerlifting one. Kinda funny to show the insanity of it. The whole passport being the determining factor for age and sex seems really weird. Especially when the guy says that people should use a scientific-based proof. 🤷♂️
But what about their dreams to become a boxer? Should they just forget about it and choose another career? And I don't think creating another category specifically for them is the solution because there are not that many intersex people in the world to begin with. So fuck them, then?
And plus if they do have 'mental illness' which I don't think they do why do we treat them like criminals? Do you go to a mental institution and start treating the mentally ills like they're some kind of criminals? No, you wouldn't do that. So why are we treating these people who people deem to be mentally ill like one, then? They didn't 'ask' to be mentally ill. So why are we making fun of them and try our very best to make their lives even more difficult than it already is for them?
@@CamberFitness You shouldn't blame them, is what I mean. They went through the same process as all the other Olympic athletes. Attacking these two athletes isn't the solution. Ok. Regardless of what or how it was done, the accusation from the IBA is out there. The athletes could clear any confusion and let people know what kind of testing was done.
Fairness takes precedence over inclusivity in sports. The chromosome XY athletes who were raised as women, should not compete with chromosome XX athletes. This is regardless of how one is raised or what one's passport says. We are talking about biology here. The only golden rule should be a DNA test.
When I was doing my Honours Degree in Pharmaceuticals, one of my professors told us that people have XX or XY chromosomes. Sometimes you can be born with XXY or XXXXY. The Y chromosome means you defo have a penis. However if you also have several X’s, you might have female features too. You might say those people were born that way however the whole point is if you do have the Y CHROMOSOME have a penis and higher testosterone plus male physical features is more muscles which puts them at a physical advantage (so XY is more advantaged than XXXY. And XXXY is physically more advantaged than an XX) So why would you disadvantage all the XX’s when it’s not their fault. Would you allow an XX female to box with XY’s just because she identifies as a He? 😂 Democracy does not mean giving someone an advantage while disadvantaging others. That is not what democracy is about.
I think it will be more appropriate to use the word "female" in laying down the rules/guidelines of IOC. Using the word "woman" in the rules/guidelines creates problems that are merely based on semantics whereas using the word "female" will clearly define the rules/guidelines.
If this is the solution, what about male athletes who loosing out because of low testosterone or potentially they are biologically female. I could argue the same standard should apply
The IBA actually banned both athletes from competition for failing a gender test that resulted in XY chromosomes which indicates that someone is a male. Yu-Ting did NOT appeal that decision. @@CamberFitness As far as i know .. inter sex can’t get pregnant. There is a small community of people known as ‘hijras’ here. And no one has ever heard of any of them getting pregnant
According to the best presumptions that numerous medical specialists have made on the case, that is absolutely NOT true that Imane can get pregnant naturally. Almost certainly, Imane has testes (whether internal or external). This is the most likely feasible scenario based on science, biology, how the likely DSD disorders would present, and their physical appearance and physiology (from youth till now).
@@CamberFitness Sorry I should have clarified my comment. I mean why not have that as a baseline must-meet condition. Not really discussing the testing portion. Because certain competing bodies today just let non women compete willingly or do not know how to set a boundry if im being charitable. Ill be honest scientists would know more about finding a valid test to check if the person meets the criteria to give birth beyond someone you know, just looking them naked or something. There are some indicators like bone density, straight up X-Rays or something alike to filter things apart
A DNA test is actually extremely simple & quick to do, vs. other fertility tests that would have to be fairly extensive and still can have a whole host of issues in terms of any type of reliability or deciding factor related to these types of cases. Also, how are you going to try and say an actual female that is infertile, or has had ovarian issues, or a hysterectomy (or a thousand other things) is somehow not woman enough to compete, just because she can not bear a child?
with this problem or issue is getting big .. Sports committees should just implement a testing system. We r also seeing how trans men r beating women in women’s sports.
That's actually not even close to the best solution here (for a whole multitude of reasons)... One of the many, many reasons people with DSD end up in situations like this to begin with, is due to having ambiguous external parts. Plus, its not like gender reassignment surgery is even rare anymore, so that really makes just a visual check fairly useless in a lot of these cases anyway.

For sure.
@@CamberFitness but another category for trans is beter than testosteron semi woman with slim girl
@piotrjabonski1859 or just stop affirming all this trans stuff and help people live in reality instead.
They are Women. One decided to begin boxing to defend her mother from abuse.
So defending your mother makes you a woman?
@@CamberFitness I still remember the mother who lost her son in France. They were from Algeria. Algeria has an Asteroid.
What does that have to do with someone being a male and competing against women?
@@CamberFitness A lot. Maybe people should care more. If it wasn't such an issue why all the discussion.
So because someone has had some kind of trauma happen in the past, the rules shouldn’t apply anymore? I really don’t understand your argument.
I don't know anything about the Taïwanese but the Alergian boxer can get pregnant so that is a woman.
How do you know that? Has Khelif been pregnant in the past?
@@CamberFitness 🤣🤣😂
🤷♂️
@@CamberFitness As far as i know .. inter sex can’t get pregnant. There is a small community of people known as ‘hijras’ here. And no one has ever heard of any of them getting pregnant
According to the best presumptions that numerous medical specialists have made on the case, that is absolutely NOT true that Imane can get pregnant naturally. Almost certainly, Imane has testes (whether internal or external). This is the most likely feasible scenario based on science, biology, how the likely DSD disorders would present, and their physical appearance and physiology (from youth till now).
why do all these DNA test? Cant it be something as simple as "Hey if they can give birth they can compete"?
With all the guys that dress and can pass as a woman externally nowadays, how would you know who could give birth?
@@CamberFitness Sorry I should have clarified my comment. I mean why not have that as a baseline must-meet condition. Not really discussing the testing portion.
Because certain competing bodies today just let non women compete willingly or do not know how to set a boundry if im being charitable.
Ill be honest scientists would know more about finding a valid test to check if the person meets the criteria to give birth beyond someone you know, just looking them naked or something.
There are some indicators like bone density, straight up X-Rays or something alike to filter things apart
It shouldn’t be necessary, but unfortunately people don’t want to live in objective reality anymore. 🤷♂️
Good point!
Just pull down their pants
😬
with this problem or issue is getting big .. Sports committees should just implement a testing system. We r also seeing how trans men r beating women in women’s sports.
Far too simple no no this needs overcomplicating and blowing out of proportion
@techtinkerin 🤷♂️
