The tombstones near the house were from his parents. They both died already. Since he wasn't able to take care of himself...the millelith visits him and brings food.
Which also explains the notes with missing pages in front of the house. I'm assuming that the millelith wants to adopt jiang after he finished serving millelith.
There's quite some sad stories from NPCs in the game - this guy - Joel's dad in Dragonspine - That one old lady who survived a shipwreck but lost her husband and claims she can hear his voice on her shell house
@@farnregen If you go to the little pond near the entrance of Springvale, you’ll find an old man during the day named Old Finch who talks about talking to a spring fairy as a child, but one day, she suddenly disappeared and stopped talking to him. The German word for 'soul' is 'Seele', so when I see the word Seelie, it definitely feels like there's a connection there. I think having those two Seelies there was definitely meant to invoke that idea of them being the parents :) That said, one of the random loading screen messages specifically mentions that they are an ancient race that used to guide humanity but has lost their forms and powers and now just reward adventurers who follow them with small treasures (which strongly alludes to the British fairies called seely instead of being actual human souls), so by definition they can't be the parents, but I still prefer that interpretation because it's sweeter than just two random fairies living there 😉
It is strongly implied that the two seeli's are his parents. The Chinese word for Seeli's are actually lost souls. The mum that died at home so hovers over the tomb stone and the father that is located on the way back to liyue and both go back to the entrance of the house. There's a book you can read near the house which explains all that happens in more detail. Pretty dark.
Curious how it took you two hours. Even if you fail to find the guy it time. It's designed so that you'll clear the quest. Its more of a story quest and not a "must pass the challenge to complete the quest".

It was actually her who gave us that commission. Another sad story you can come across is in the graveyard behind the Cathedral where every night a father stands before his daughter's grave and sings her songs that she used to like :') Edit: Oh my thank you for the likes!
About that little girl, you do end up meeting that big brother she was talking about, and he does talk about how he wonders where she went; He has no idea she died while thinking she annoyed him (when he really didn't). there were two seelies lingering around the house and when u lead them back to their place, its in front of his house. what if those are his parents souls? :(
It’s awkward if you chose the other option and he says his uncle and the milileth come by to give him food but would never say what happened to his parents.
Damn... I just remembered that npc at the back of the Monstadt church which was singing over a grave with a lyre... and judging by what he mumbles in the dialogue... that’s his daughter down there. Pretty cool though, it almost made me feel sad.
I got the quest but I deny it because I was doing another quest. But then I found his house, the tombstones, and the dad's diary. I felt bad and return to accept the quest. But the story is soo much sadder than I initially thought. I bawled my eyes out looking for him in his hide and seek game.
I have a theory that I'd like to share, when kiddo said that he plays hide-and-seek with his parent's, it's actually his parents teaching him to hide well when the time comes. From what I see here, it's just like the scene before the epic escape in "The Promised Neverland" they practiced for months before the "big day". They even left some supplies from him. The way that kiddo's parents used they hide-and-seek as a way is because kiddo has some mental issues, and didn't understand the concept of "hiding from danger" like the news I once read about this man who's IQ is 40 something and doesn't understand the concept of execution. That's when the enemy strike. Kiddo's father has been taken first, then his mother. His mother told him that they are going to play one last game. Thats pretty dark and sad actually.
There were 2 siblings at liyue at that market looking place after long stairs and go up to these stairs to higher buildings you will find them there, the girl sibling was like crying and asking her brother when their parents will come back, and the boy sibling said just imagine them as something (that i forgot) and theyre just there with them as I assume that the boy sibling already know theyre dead and trying his best to calm his sibling, thats all i saw from them.
It's even sadder when you read the diary by the table. I don't remember much but I think it was something about how his father was looking for a way to cure him and he found a lead. He was also about to retire at the time and his last mission was I think the one that got him killed.
I learnt about this a really long time ago. He lost his parents at a young age, so he wasn't able to mature or learn new things, and something must have made their death heroic because the meileith come there daily to make offerings and give the kid food.
I also was speechless after the realization hitted me, and it was even worst for me because I did this, the one of the dead siblings and their dad and the one where you look for the girl's books IN A ROW ON THE SAME DAY. I was both sad and creeped out, specially for the girl's quest, because I didnt realized the implication until the day after that

After finishing joel's quest, everday i always go to feed the fox since its joel's father last request
Mihoyo has some widowed ladies scattered about. Like Granny Ruoxin from Qingce, that lady near the entrance of Liyue harbor, and that shell lady at Yaoguang shoal.
Well I guess it also applies with reality. Like, women(and children) are always the first priority when there's something bad happening, like that. Idk tho, lol.
I decided to spare your life for today lol
Just wanted to play hide and seek
he legit fat shamed jiang in a nice way
Fun fact, uncle Tian (former yuheng, iirc? If you already play Ganyu's story) often go to the Childish Jiang's place, and play with him.
There's also an old man in Qingce Village named Jiangcheng. His house is on top of the waypoint in Qingce Village (the waypoint between the letter "g" and "e" of the word “Village” on the map)
seriously man, jiang needs more attention he deserve. he really got it rough and he doesn't even know it.
i stumbled upon his parents’ gravestones while looking for him and the realization i had i was just
o h
i just did this today and when i read his dialogue i was like oh no he was abandoned poor jiang, until i saw the graves and had to hold back a tear- poor jiang indeed
They dont call him childish jiang for nothing
I always visit him when I remember and pay respect to his parents (using Noelle idle) because I really feel bad for him even it's just a game. 😢💔
Average Mondstadt NPC: *Hey traveller! Can u find me some pinecones? Would you like some food or a drink? :D*
Average Liyue NPC: *My family is dead, I am all alone and depressed beyond help*
MiHoYo: *"Let's give a time off from raging because they die when they falling off the cliff while climbing and make them grieve instead about kids with parents/being dead"*
suggest everyone learn the history of the seelie (hint: start from the traveler's voice)
the meows... surely a catboy.
Lmao i thought he is a ghost or something and his ultimate hiding spot is his grave ☠️✨
Omg I literally thought the same thing lmfao
6:04 "Please tell me this is not about to go dark."
Few seconds later: gets dark.
When I think about his story, the fact that he didn't understand it, it makes me want to cry...
He's alone waiting and... And...
The feels man! I feel sad for him.
Just did this mission today, during the moment Jiang went to his house I saw the two graves, my mind instantly snapped right to those being his parents'
"Thats the darkest hide and seek game I've ever participated in." Well said bro; well said indeed.
there's also two Seelie you can collect that lead you to the house. most likely those are his parent's spirits...
"I really need to start doing this world quests"
*I felt that*
His parents got so tired to they decided to hide in the REAL ultimate hiding spot
A yes I did this one and I stayed with him for a minute just because I needed to know the lore, plus I felt sad for him.
I know it's the most basic one but the girl who's coughing near the fountain in Mondo. She throws coins into the fountain during the daytime wishing for her sickness to go away. During the nighttime her brother is fishing out the mora because they don't have money for medicine and there's no cure yet
You think that’s dark? Avoid NPC’s! Once I was exploring Liyue and I saw two small children standing on the side of a building. The girl was crying and her brother was confronting her cause their mom just passed away. WHY SO DARK??? 😭😭😭
Yi Xian and Yi Zhu
Theres so much children with no parents and have a serious sad backstory and theres timmie
there were two seelies lingering around the house and when u lead them back to their place, its in front of his house. what if those are his parents souls? :(
It’s awkward if you chose the other option and he says his uncle and the milileth come by to give him food but would never say what happened to his parents.
Disney: "We kill parents"
Mihoyo: "Oo kawaii koto.."
I WAS THINKING THE SAME WHEN I REALIZED RHOSE WERE TOMB STONES
Me thinking their parent's were criminals stashing things that got found: 😄
Parants: exist.
Mihoyo: HOW ABOUT NO
When i played this, I literaly cried :'>
So..I wasn't the only one who cried while doing that quest :'D
"Mom can we have bwaap at home?"
"We already have bwaap at home"
bwaap at home:
Just kidding I love this video
Woah bwapp is really popular haha
Now that you mention it, I find this guy's voice sound kinda like bwaap lol
Man that reminded me of another npc or npcs in Liyue that lost their parent but much more recently.
Reminds me of that kid in Dragonspine
@@masaru7385 why do they keep losing their parents? ;-;
Yeah there was two kids you need to deliver almond Tofu to in your daily quest. They way the girl getting fuzzy for her mom is pretty heart wrenching.
Damn... I just remembered that npc at the back of the Monstadt church which was singing over a grave with a lyre... and judging by what he mumbles in the dialogue... that’s his daughter down there. Pretty cool though, it almost made me feel sad.
this game likes making us depressed in every way
I got the quest but I deny it because I was doing another quest. But then I found his house, the tombstones, and the dad's diary. I felt bad and return to accept the quest. But the story is soo much sadder than I initially thought. I bawled my eyes out looking for him in his hide and seek game.
0:12 , was that a Pop team epic reference... “Omae no inochi no bioshita (?)” (your life has been spared )
Mihoyo: you thought u can escape honkai and its sad story with genshin? Well too bad
All these kids are gunna grow up to be dark heroes fighting for vengeance in the dead of night.
Just look Diluc.
Is that your last words?!
"Its cute!"
I totally agree!
Ah yes, genshin giving us another sadness after we DONT get our fav 5 star hero.
It's even sadder when you read the diary by the table. I don't remember much but I think it was something about how his father was looking for a way to cure him and he found a lead. He was also about to retire at the time and his last mission was I think the one that got him killed.
ah, new players that can't accept dark stories eh?
Honkai impact 3rd players :
first time
We're just more used to the pain.
I mean, HI3 players.
I learnt about this a really long time ago. He lost his parents at a young age, so he wasn't able to mature or learn new things, and something must have made their death heroic because the meileith come there daily to make offerings and give the kid food.
Lol i thought i'm the only one lazy to finish all the world quest.i've tried one or two if failed then i leave it there
Timmy, that kid in the snowy mountain, and him :D
(not so fun) fact:
There are 2 Seelie Stones right next to his doorstep
I only managed to find one of the spirits
Guess who the Lost Souls are?
the father was killed by a ruin hunter, his seelie lies there on the hill top high above... when u get there the seelie will fly down to the house.
Oh thanks!
I was wandering for 15 minutes around the area but couldnt find it
I also was speechless after the realization hitted me, and it was even worst for me because I did this, the one of the dead siblings and their dad and the one where you look for the girl's books IN A ROW ON THE SAME DAY.
I was both sad and creeped out, specially for the girl's quest, because I didnt realized the implication until the day after that
random quest uh my parents haven’t returned and there are two graves infront of my house
Yeah this guy never really left my mind after i played with him...and also.. Little Nine. That shit was so creepy.
Lesson learned for the day: Never play Hide and Seek again :’)
