  • As China's labour force shrinks, it's getting harder to find younger workers willing to do back-breaking tasks. Manufacturers like Esquel in Guangdong are using robots and automation to reduce the demand on workers and improve efficiency in the face of higher labour costs and increased tariffs. CNA's Wei Du has the report.

    Shirts are nice and beautiful.
If China can make them cheaper, then some people will be happy to buy them.
Looks like *the robot operator* will be a solid job in the future.

Don't worry about workers being replaced by machines. As the labor cost decrease the profit increases and that attracts more investors. More investors means more production which forces price down. Availability of basic good like clothes at cheap price will alivate poverty.

We need to look at the two biggest economies the USA and China and they are the two biggest manufacturers and take a hint, bigger factories to reduce cost, profit sharing, boost efficiency, more R&D.🎯🎯🎯🗂💷🇬🇧📡

True. Unfortunately to compete in today's economy companies do need to automate.

Raising worker salary through automation is the right socialist approach. Very commendable.

Nah, nothing socialist about this. When machines and robots get smarter and smarter, humans will be phased out. Well, they'll keep a small team of 5 to make sure the machines stay working. No more whiners. Good.

The trade war has been the fighting between the Americans' laziness and the Chinese diligence.
You can tell who will win.
