  • The Prophet 6 is one of those synths, the more you use it the more you find sweet spots and the more you love what it can do.
    Today I thought I would play with the PolySequencer. I took a few chords, added some rests then used the rest of the clip to bring flavours in and out.
    100% recorded with the Prophet 6 in real time with no external effects besides some limiting and slight EQ at the master stage to keep things sensible :D
    Hope you enjoy!

      Its a powerful beast! It can make you work for your sounds but it has such range, sounds amazing and the onboard effects are so tasty! Thanks for dropping by Stephen :D

      I was on the fence for a while about it, but decided on something modern and with more features over purchasing a Prophet 5 :D

    Great demo. This synth is arguably as much the defining analog of the decade as the rev 3 P-5 was to the '80s - whereas the rev 3 has a wider, warmer (almost dusty) tone befitting of the domains of italo disco and new wave, the P-6 has a colder, more distantly ambient power to its basic tone, which I honestly appreciate regardless of how intentional it ultimately was on the part of the Sequential team.

      It really is a synth for sound creators, but it makes you work for the sound :D

    Sounds absolutely amazing. So, you did this by recording a bunch of chords into the sequencer and played it back? I need to try this myself. Incredible man!

    • @100ThingsIDo
      @100ThingsIDo  Рік тому

      Exactaly, the trick I used was to mix high and low octave chords so when you use the filter not only do you control the tone but the range :D

    Does this video directly relate to what we are hearing? I'm not seeing any keys pressed (ok could be midi notes in a daw) but equally the timing seems very off to knobs being turned to actual audio changes? Great sounds though!!!

    • @100ThingsIDo
      @100ThingsIDo  2 роки тому +1

      Yep, recorded live. There is a lot of delay used but possibly the video is out by a few frames but not that much. The notes are all being triggered by a looping sequence recorded into the inbuilt polysequencer! Its the same sequence all the time (63 notes or so) but opening and closing filters and envelopes :D

      @@100ThingsIDoI really like how you use the noise and fade in the waveforms instead, I'm pretty found of this kind of effect :p triads are the basis, it always works great :) next time try with sus 2 or 4 I'm sure it will also sound very great :p
