- The Prophet 6 is one of those synths, the more you use it the more you find sweet spots and the more you love what it can do.
Today I thought I would play with the PolySequencer. I took a few chords, added some rests then used the rest of the clip to bring flavours in and out.
100% recorded with the Prophet 6 in real time with no external effects besides some limiting and slight EQ at the master stage to keep things sensible :D
Hope you enjoy!
The Prophet 6 never ceases to amaze me with its versatility and wide range of tones. Sounds amazing 🙂
Its a powerful beast! It can make you work for your sounds but it has such range, sounds amazing and the onboard effects are so tasty! Thanks for dropping by Stephen :D
I could listen to an hour of this, gorgeous!
I did before I recorded this :D
Been on the fence about this synth, think I'm sold after listening to this.
I was on the fence for a while about it, but decided on something modern and with more features over purchasing a Prophet 5 :D
Sounds absolutely magnificent ! Love it !
Thanks Craig :D
Love it. Sounds amazing!
Thanks Johnny :D
Sounds ace!
Indeed it does! Still very happy with it :D
Gorgeous, or as I would say "Wunderschön"!
Danke Peter, Danke :D
Totally awesome, the right sounds for the Australien winter time
Thanks Tip Top, from what I have seen it looks like its been a nice summer in Germany! Hope things have been great with you :D
Wonderful demo of this amazing keyboard. Mine's been ordered and I can't wait!
I hope you love it as much as I do Jay :D
@@100ThingsIDo, got it and I do! :)
Sounds great!
Thanks, from the point of just having fun exploring and playing the Prophet 6 is my favorite at the moment :D
Bravo! A great performance!
Thanks Eanna :D
Wow, that was incredibly gorgeous and lush. The P6 sounds amazing here, fantastic music... reminds me of early Autechre. Keep it up mate!
Thanks ! :D I'm still super jealous of the Tour of DSI/Sequential you did! I have had some interactions with Carson and he has been awesome to deal with :D
@@100ThingsIDo Yep, Carson is a great guy and I can't thank him enough for providing me (us) that tour... if you ever make it to San Francisco, be sure to drop them a line!
Nine :)
Beautiful :)
Thanks :D
Great
You make it sound like modular pretty cool
Thans so much :D
awesome!
Indeed, the P6 can do very sweet sounds :D
Love the Lightning effect
Took a bit of work me keep enough of me out of the camera while still being able to operate the synth :D
Great demo. This synth is arguably as much the defining analog of the decade as the rev 3 P-5 was to the '80s - whereas the rev 3 has a wider, warmer (almost dusty) tone befitting of the domains of italo disco and new wave, the P-6 has a colder, more distantly ambient power to its basic tone, which I honestly appreciate regardless of how intentional it ultimately was on the part of the Sequential team.
It really is a synth for sound creators, but it makes you work for the sound :D
Sounds absolutely amazing. So, you did this by recording a bunch of chords into the sequencer and played it back? I need to try this myself. Incredible man!
Exactaly, the trick I used was to mix high and low octave chords so when you use the filter not only do you control the tone but the range :D
@@100ThingsIDo Dude I no lie listen to this almost daily - you need to turn this into a song. Record something with it - you owe it to yourself.
How on earth did you do that noice intro?! Sounds absolutely amazing!
Just the noise and delay :D
Does this video directly relate to what we are hearing? I'm not seeing any keys pressed (ok could be midi notes in a daw) but equally the timing seems very off to knobs being turned to actual audio changes? Great sounds though!!!
Yep, recorded live. There is a lot of delay used but possibly the video is out by a few frames but not that much. The notes are all being triggered by a looping sequence recorded into the inbuilt polysequencer! Its the same sequence all the time (63 notes or so) but opening and closing filters and envelopes :D
@@100ThingsIDo It sounds unreal bro.
dude !
DUDE! :D
@@100ThingsIDo that was such an amazing sequence !!
@@LouisSerieusement I did about 4 different version but I liked this one the best. Its just a bunch on triads and rests entered pretty much randomly :D
@@100ThingsIDoI really like how you use the noise and fade in the waveforms instead, I'm pretty found of this kind of effect :p triads are the basis, it always works great :) next time try with sus 2 or 4 I'm sure it will also sound very great :p
This prophet is so better sounding than the rev 2 to my taste ! Thank you again for sharing this
@@100ThingsIDo it seems like there A LOT of rests in there? great job very beautiful. mind sharing patch settings?
