Marie was the best female voice in pop-rock music, there is nobody in the world having that kind of vocal timbre. This song was another big masterpiece of this legendary band which will never die.
No autotune at those moments..Amazing and remarkable live performance from Roxette. Marie was a real showgirl !
What a lot of people don’t know is that Marie went through depression during the Joyride era. She thoroughly reflects on that on her own album Den Ständiga Resan (released in ‘92) where she sings about suicide, her sister (who died very young in a car accident) and other rather heavy topics. It’s a pretty dark and bleak album and totally different from what she did with Roxette. I’d urge Marie and Roxette fans to listen to it as I feel it’s the most haunting work she’s ever done. I dare to even say it’s a masterpiece and surpasses everything Roxette has ever released. Listen to it with an open mind. The Swedish language is beautiful even if you’re not familiar with it ❤
LISTENING - its great!!
@@BeyondNarratives That's lovely to hear!
I was in this Live Concert in Zurich 1991@Hallenstadion in 2nd Line. Amazing but not the best performance from Marie, because her voice in this evening was not 100%.Love this Song,😍😍
Sounds like she needed a steroid shot for sure. Having to force those notes out. Using her head voice for the higher notes. Yeah, her chords are shot here.
@@kilgh During that concert Marie had a flu and fever, that is why her voice wasn't at 100%.
@@jesicadpsc That would do it!
Wow! You are a lucky man. From the broadcast of this concert on TV my love for Roxette began, which continues to this day.
One of the things that I will always thank God for. It's having been lucky enough to attend a live Roxette concert.
There is not a Roxette song I don't like, but "It Must Have Been Love" has to be my favorite. Probably because I was in my early 20's when it was a hit, and it reminds me of that time when I was filled with optimism and ready to take on the world!
Roxette is an amazing live band and they play and sing live and that gives it a total different feeling to a liveshow (compared to those who doesn't do it all live).
And yes, Per Gessle wrote almost all Roxette's songs. Marie couldn't write as quickly as Per did in English. However she made beautiful songs in her solo career in Swedish.
There is an official convert video of this tour, live in Sydney. It was released on VHS and Laserdisc and there is a bootleg DVD of the laserdisc rip, that is better quality that what you have here.
The amazing thing about Marie is that she is running around the stage and unlike other artists of the era isn't using tape playback.
Great reaction and thank you for being so open and honest about your own experiences. We all paint our lives over the songs we listen to, don't we?
The unplugged version is very special piano only... so beautiful!!!
I just ADORE your Roxette reactions. The live version of Do you get excited from this concert is definitely my fave as well as Things will never be the same ❤️
Personally I always preferred the Live versions of their songs, but that maybe just because I loved the Roxer (Roxer is a long time Roxette fan) family singalongs and how Marie was just such a great presence on stage and just a little flirty, with the band and audience especially in their earlier concerts. They also always changed songs up a little, to fit with their mood, or how strong M or P felt that day, so you always found something new in the songs. It was never the exact same concert each time.
Always loved Roxette!! RIP Marie you missed us!!! Thanks for this Anton! Always love your reactions....and of course your channel!!!! :)
My favourite Roxette song.
I love Roxette so much fading like a flower is one of their best songs RIP Marie 🆒👍
Please react to some of their MTV Unplugged performances. The totally acoustic instrumental and Marie at the top of her game is just amazing.
Aaaah Roxette!..
This brings back memories!I have 2 older sisters..The age difference between us is 5 and 7 years (my mom got pregnant with me 'by accident'➺ my dad has had a vasectomy shortly before I was conceived..They were surprised, but I was very welcome)..
Back to my sisters: They were teens and in that time the CD player came at the market..My sisters had to have one, ASAP!..Then there had to be a CD..They chose a CD of Roxette, because they had a few hits in The Netherlands back then..
I have heard this album over and over again..& still liking the songs! But the memories of that time makes me love them!
Sorprendente performance para el mejor tema de roxette por lejos 💪
This song is very rock with pop
Yep, i'm with you. I always focus on the music and voice first, rather than the lyrics. That comes later.
I love ROXETTE... Thanks for your video
I 100% understand about relationships, shivers when you described that.
You love this song anton👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Zurich was not Marie's best vocal performance. She'd had laryngitis or something like that shortly before that. Bonnie Tyler opened up for them in Zurich.
One more thing: I had my Discord set up in the #roxette channel, but I can no longer find it. Can anyone provide the link or path to it, please?
You should do more Roxette live, at least for the songs you liked the most. The look was crazy good live. We all screamed like crazy with the first seconds of Jonas's riff. Same with Joyride.

Fantástic.i love in buenos aires versión .when people sing along
It was always said that Marie had a flu and fever during this particular show, that is why she didn't sound 100%. You can watch Roxette in Buenos Aires 1992,she sang perfectly. (And the Argentinean audience, in my humble opinion, is the best). And I am also from 🇦🇷
Marie was sick here. Just a fyi. She had the flu and still performed live.
Undoubtedly one of Roxette's best songs.
Please Anton, could you react soon to some of these songs of the group : The Rain; So Far Away; How do you do!; Here comes from Weekend, also, the version they did of Help by the Beatles is wonderful.
Your Spanish fans, we would be grateful if you could react sometime to some Spanish artist, like Vanesa Martin singing with India Martinez the song "Arrancame" or the group Amaral with the song "cuando suba la marea" song that appears in the series "la casa de papel".
Thank you
Hi Anton I hope you are doing well 🙏I love this song ❤️
Hey Anton! Hope you’re doing fine mate!
Got a request for you: You must make one vid about a very special Roxette song which was never a hit but I believe it deserves your judgment 😀
It’s ‘Hotblooded’ from the Joyride album. Please man 🙏🏻
All the best! And keep up the hard work!!! 💪🏻
This song is ballad
Hi, new here and love your reactions :)
You got to react to Roxette "you dont understand me", a very underrated gem. Thanks.
I love this song. Its very personal to me.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
You really want to react to "Things will never be the same" from Roxette.
Already did, I reacted to the whole album
@@antonreacts Oh, then I'm gonna find it!!
Been binging your videos for the last few hours, very enjoyable ^_^ Joined for a quick request on Patreon (for reference I requested Nightwish - Ghost Love Score) and I would say prepare yourself for the Nightwish Army to join your channel and hopefully you'll be doing a deep dive over time ^_^ Keep it up!
Thank you! I have actually already done some Nightwish reactions on my old channel so I already know and love them and have been listening to all the non singles and love them!
@@antonreacts I just realized after I'd sent the comment xD
Hi Anton
How do you describe your and your friend's view of songs.
I've known Roxette and their songs for many years, even when I didn't know a word of English (not that it would be any better today :-) )
And that's why I didn't perceive Roxette's hits through their lyrics, but only through the music and voices of Marie and Per.
His music and her voice were a perfect combination and to this day I can't stop Roxette. Although Marie has unfortunately left us... But Per still composes and sings.....
Sorry for my English, a translator helped me :-)
And Anton, I'm still waiting for the reaction of the song How do you do!.... when Christmas comes around ;)
Pavel from the Czech Republic in the heart of Europe wishes you well, health, happiness and love.
I look forward to Roxette's further reactions :-)
Marie's voice is an instrument and she has such a stage precense, look at her interacting with Anders ( on bass) 💓
She is amazing and can make a song sound/feel so different.
Think it was the head of EMI Sweden who once said " Marie can sing sing the phone book and make it sound interesting"
9:15 "don't bother liking this, it's not even listed, so it doesn't go out to the algorithm"... I wish I understood more how youtube works. I don't even know if this is sarcastic humor... Anyway, tough luck: I still liked it! ;)
This was originally part of the album reaction but I chose to post it to UA-cam as it is technically a single
@@antonreacts Sorry to be too dense to get the obvious, but: was your "algorithm comment" a joke, or actually how youtube works? Just trying to be supportive out here! ;)
@@Frenchie100 actually how it works

Not as a public request, just seeing that you like her voice: ua-cam.com/video/YjLPMYeSKds/v-deo.html (one of the few Roxette songs to which she also wrote the music).
Per wrote the 99% Roxette songs.
Still got "Queen of Rain" to go
they didn't perform their songs live to sound like the album version
I never liked Marie's voice on their Joyride tour. She also changed the songs too much. Her voice was perfection on their Crash Boom Bang tour, and she sang this song way better. But she will always be #1.
She was sick here.
@@georgegeorgiev3946 As in a cold?
@@martinodendaal1703 yes. She had the flu here but still performed, and live.
In south América versión she sang as studio versión.she usted to play with her voice
@juany no need for nonsense. She probably playbacked in South America. No one ever sings live and sounds 100% like the studio version. She was just sick here.
Hmm, that really was not great. Seemed like she was really holding back using tricks to avoid all the power notes. She sounds sick almost. I've seen way better performances.
She was sick. Couldn't get to those notes, but as a great artist does, she improvised. To me if you want a song to sound the same as the studio recording, listen to the Album!!!
@@roxerforlife3663 To me if you are incapable of performing it to the quality of the original than you should just cancel and get well. I don't like to pay good money for mediocre performances. I don't mind at all if an artist restructures a song when live to freshen it up or give it a different take, but it still needs to be good.
@@popdefender460Ok I agree that's your preference.
Don't think though it's that easy to "just cancel" due to being unable to perform it to the standard of the original.
They aren't Robots, many factors affect Live Preformances, one concert maybe Fantastic all through, another may not. I pay good money to hear Live concerts however they turn out, yes I may feel a little disappointed, but I'd still have enjoyed it. I don't pay good money to hear the studio recording.
@@roxerforlife3663 I might agree with settling for less if ticket prices were still low enough that you could go to almost as many concerts as you wanted to. It's not that way anymore.
You love this song anton👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
