Yup. They can be risky and we should be careful with them. I made mechanics for the pine forest pollen season and pollen allergy (based on the modified Cloud Kll spell) and almost accidentally TPK players' PCs with pine pollen. Because every time a wind or some other force moved the trees, they released a cloud of pine pollen. And the players decided to take a random combat in the middle of this pine forest. After that, I had to nerf this pollen mechanics.
Haha, I did that with the floods in the dragon lance book. Players walking through a canyon. Woops sounds like the ocean is coming.
