I really haven't ever seen it interpreted the way I always have. I started playing AD&D when it was important. The only thing lawful or chaotic ment to me was predictable or not. Lawful only ment a strict adherence to your own code of ethics. A Lawful good character could very easily break the law if it ment adherence to their own code of justice for instance. Many wouldn't but it also wouldn't be alinment breaking if they did for instance. Just my 2 cents. Great video, much enjoyed it

I think an issue I've always had with D&D is that class-level systems don't promote the creation of characters, but rather archetypes. Similarly, character generation in D&D creates characters outside of the setting, like they've been transplanted from somewhere else. I think that second one stems from it being so generic. I think D&D would be much better if they had setting specific PHBs, with the DMG mostly being a guide for creating your own setting, and using the mechanics introduced in those PHBs to create your own setting specific classes, races, etc.

I started using it myself the other day, putting in prompts about the system, the setting, and details about the party and campaign. It's been a fantastic tool to help with ideas and brainstorming, like coming up with ideas for magical defences that an evil organisation might have, or assisting with antagonist goals and how to achieve them. It even came up with ideas for neutralising powerful organisations and allies that the party might have.

I am curious how to explain how a creature I shape shift into that does not have the correct anatomy to vocalize humanoid speech can do so. Might have been better to give them a limited telepathy in wild shape. I recall many lycanthropes can not speak in animal form.

How about the Gnoll and the Mind-flayer? In some campaigns you might welcome the Gnoll and Mind-flayer but freak out at the Human and Elf.

I always enjoyed the 3.5 varient alignment system. Pick an alignment and that is your base morals, and then depending on the situation, you slide into the territory of other alignments because every day situations influance your base morals.

your local Min/Maxer can save your life in a pinch, but just don't let him tell you how to build your character and what you're doing wrong and what you should be doing instead.

While not always exactly appropriate I sometimes translate lawful to 'dogmatic' and chaotic as 'individualistic'. It especially helps on the evil end of the scale because you can't really imagine what a 'lawful' evil character looks like, but think dogmatic evil and you instantly have an image in your head.

Lawful should have been named Order, would have saved a lot of people time. Same for good and evil are really Generous and Selfish

How about the Assassin who starts out neutral evil but over time become neutral good. But he does after all have a very specific set of skills... James Bond, the Punisher, John Wick, etc.

Too many GM's/DM's stay away from "Epic campaigns" because they are afraid of the complexities. They are more into combat, travel, town, quest, combat... rinse repeat.

I get the idea... but it was lost on knowing, and easily tell, the people talking are reading directly from the post, and their scripts. It would have been better to see the two in the video just talking about it regularly, then hear them reading. I can read it myself if just posted. The point is to hear them talk and have great convo about the topic which would have kept my interest.

To me its a double edged sword........... On one hand it will be very impactful towards professional artists but then they make money not from the average guy on the street. But now the average person who cant draw or sketch to save their lives have access to tools they can use at the drop of a hat and more so in TTRPG

Despite the negative comments, as a "newish" DM, I found this video helpful and got some tips that will try to implement in my games. Whether is AI or not, there's helpful content here that can be certainly used. Don't let negative comments stop you from continuing doing something that you enjoy :)
