I found my budgie walking on the road after about 6 days. I had never thought that she would survive for this long. However she is sleep deprived. She is sleeping so much since she has come back. I am so fortunate enough to find my baby. 😌

@@thenickname6234 I feel so sorry for you, just hope that wherever she is, she is happy. As far as I have observed, budgies don't have a vivid memory, if many days have passed then your other budgie might get used to being alone. The best you can do is get a new budgie friend for her/him.

i never thought i would love a budgie this much, their cuteness killing me, i love it when they bite me softly or tickle my neck every single move they do.. can't think about losing any of them .
it dosen't matter if it bites you softly, they hate you. If they're only a baby that explains why it dosen't hurt or they're probably just weak

Okay!! STOP PANICKING AND LISTEN!! My budgie flew away yesterday morning, BUT HE'S BACK HOME NOW!! Do NOT lose hope! Here's how to get ur little baby to come back.
Day 1. Your budgie is probably very scared/excited, and is going to be flying around non-stop. He will stay within the regions of your neighborhood - especially if you live in a suburb-type area.
Don't expect him or her to come back. We tried, we cried, played every video of budgie calling sounds we could find, but to no avail. We eventually spotted our little bird chilling on a pine tree not too far away. He did not come down, and I tried to climb, but he got startled and flew off. Eventually, it got really dark, and he disappeared.
Day 2. Your little parakeet has had an exciting first day in the great outdoors, but now he is tired and hungry. He does not understand how to find food for himself. IT HELPS TO SCATTER SEEDS AND HIS TREATS AROUND YOUR FRONT AND BACK YARD. ALSO - PUT YOUR CAGE OUTDOORS. If you have another budgie, keep him inside the cage, but DO NOT OPEN IT. You don't want to lose another precious bird. NEXT!! Continue to intermittently play videos of parakeets chirping, if your bird (inside of the cage) won't call out (ours didn't because he was stressed).
CALL OUT TO YOUR BIRD! He won't respond, but he will know you're there. Always be on the lookout. A human can last up to 3 weeks without food. A parakeet? Only 3 days. 1 day without food is equal to 1 week without food for us. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Your budgie is exhausted! He will eventually come down to the ground to look for food. My mom found our budgie at the local kids playground nibbling at dead grass. He could barely walk, the poor thing was so so tired from all the flying around.
HERE IS THE CRITICAL PART! Do not scream with joy or rush towards your budgie!! He is on extreme high alert, and will interpret you as a threat. That is good, because otherwise, he would think that the local alley cats are his buddies and would quickly learn that isn't true - the hard way.
CAREFULLY and SLOWLY walk up to him , your body low to the ground. Slowly put your finger under his belly, preferably with some millet in hand - remember, do this very slowly. Next, move him to your body, and try to carefully hold him down (safely) with your other hand. Don't grab his feet, because in his frantic state, he may try to escape and break a foot.
And voila!! Your little baby is now back.
KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER!
Do not give up! That hour you spent crying in your bedroom was the hour where he swooped by your porch, eagerly looking for his owner who was just calling him by his name a few minutes ago. Act quick, act fast, and most importantly - WALK AROUND YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!! Your budgie is somewhere nearby! On days 2 and over, he will be on the ground, tired. Keep a good lookout!!!!
Last but not least - I prayed to find him. I know some of you might not be religious - but if you are, listen closely - there's a Saint out there called Saint Triphon (Of Campsada, 3rd century), who one should pray to in order to find a lost bird. I know this might sound almost silly, but I credit the return of my little baby to him.
Anyways, God bless, do not, ever, despair - your bird will likely come back if you act quick and keep a watchful eye out. May you find your precious little feathered friends!!!!!!!

How jealous she gets when I talk with someone else in front of her or how angry she gets when I don't reply to her or play prank with her and the list goes on. She was really something 😍
Even my mom was jealous that why does she always reply on my voice but never reply on others 😁 or let them touch her. My budgie my bestie she even gets sad when I don't talk to her or scold her😅

M not a pet friendly person but her playful behaviour won my heart. I really cried for days when she flew away🙄

I was in my room when my mom told me about budgie. I rushed outside and tried to find my bird for almost 50-60mins but no result 💔

I regret the moment when I left her cage's roof open. So she could fly freely inside the room. But my mom didn't notice roof was open. When she took her outside , the roof part fall down. Bird got scared and flew away 🤦🏻♀️🙄

Mine is still on the same tree for months and doesn't want to come back. He teases me but atleast he's safe. I visit him daily

I’m so sad,my bird flew outside into a tree. So I placed his cage outside while my other birds were chirping for him. He was chirping back but then all of a sudden , he flew into a second tree and then just flew over many houses and I lost him. I miss him so much

My green budgie flew away from balcony...... And sat on the nearby tower I ran and I don't know how but she fell from nowhere infront of me and when she saw me she jumped over me.....
And this is happening 2nd time....

Mine liked my winter coat and I didn’t know he was on it when I was outside on my way to school in the morning! Before I knew it he was flying high up and over rooftops and gone. Nobody could drop what they were doing to try to get him. This was a very long time ago ( 1972)

My budgie escaped and flew across the street. He is on a tree. I walked to the tree and I could hear him but wouldn't come down. After an hour I could not hear anymore chirping. Now I think he's dead... I am now crying. Now myy other parakeet is all alone. She seems sad....

My budgie escaped when my dad wanted them to have fresh air outside and then about a couple min my dad wanted to take them inside again then when he got the handles of the cage it almost got off but slightly and all the budgies were scared but 1 wasn't and he escaped and went to a 2 floor house roof and he took off.. And I still miss him until this day that happened in 2018
My budgie flied away outside.. His name was Charlie he was a 2 Year old budgie. Ill tell the story.. So Charlie’s cage was outside of our house. On the balcony. Then i was gonna clean his cage wich i did, But then, When i came back, He wasnt there. I was confused as i saw the cage Doors were closed, But then i realized, It had a door in the back. And it was open. Idk When i opened it but i had nothing that could protect him from flying away. Also i only take the cage outside When its really hot. But then he cant go outside of the cage, Anyways, Lets continue. I was really worried and i searched around the entire house as Quick as i could. I didnt see him anywhere. Then i went to pick out the trash. And guess what i saw? A sky blue feather. It was from Charlie. Then i quickly searched around the backyard. And eventually, I saw him. Sitting on a tree looking scared. Then i quickly put out my finger wanting him to step up. But he has never been outside of the house. So he was really scared. He quickly flied up to the top of the house. On the roof. Then i started crying and said goodbye as it was Low chance hed come back. 1 Day later i was walking in the forest wanting to get some mushrooms. Then i saw him again. He was lying on the ground looking dead. But he was alive. When i picked him up he started biting a little. It didnt hurt at all so i bringed him inside. Then he escaped again and flied up in a tree. It was hopeless at this point. I said goodbye and started walking inside, crying. But then i did my last attempt by putting a ladder and going up the tree to catch him and quickly run inside. He flied away. He flied so far i could No longer see him. I searched every hour every day and after only 3 days i gave up. And i havent seen him now either. I think he died as he had No food or water there. 1 like = 1 Prayer for Charlie. Hes probably dead as it was a month ago i last saw him. R.I.P Charlie. We will all miss u.

Once when I took out the food container from the cage, one of my budgie flew out. It sat on a tree. But I realized that it wasn't going away. It was trying to come nearer. If I had tried to catch it, it would have flown away. As I had the habit of feeding them leaves from my hand, I placed some leaves in my hand. It slowly came to me. And finally I put it back in the cage.
Question my budgie escape while I was cleaning the cage but my bedroom door was close and my other budgie was still inside the cage. I had to close the cage door so my other budgie wouldn’t escape.. I kept calling her name to go back to the cage but no luck.. she flew around the room and I tried to give her millets but she didn’t want it.. I couldn’t get her and I was getting tired of calling her so I waited for my friend to come back home to get her and my friend had to grab her and put her back in the cage
One of my cockatiels flew away a few weeks ago but he (thank god) came back to me after 3 days and I could get him back thanks to the recall training I did with him.
wElL before my first budgie DIES my mom found him outside my door so my mom took him in the house, (cause this day was snowy oof-) she took one of my little boxes made some holes for him to breath then buyed food for him, 1 year after he had an girlfriend :D we buyed her and named her kiwi!(he's name was Neptune btw) we were in 2019 january they didn't made eggs é.é then we brought an massive cage for them! then the 2020 2 february....he died at 03:30 am in the morning i came to give them food! i got to my kitchen and...found kiwi seing his body she tried to shake him i opened the cage then took him, i saw a bit.then buried him in my garden.i was crying so hard and kiwi was on my shoulder (btw my garden have an roof-) then we got to my house and called an friend that got a lot of budgies,so i asked him to give me "sky" he accepted and brog it here! still sad for neptune...i hope he's with his familly there in the sky!
My 2 budgies escaped, and I live around a wooded area. I just lost them today, and I'm trying everything I can to find them. But since we're all in quarantine, I can't call a rescue or anything. So the best I can do is just put their cage outside and hope that they just find their way back. :(

The best way to find your budgie is to make sure you don’t loose him or her in the first place. Make sure nobody comes in or out of the doors that lead to the outside when you’re having free flight time in the house. Make sure you have screens on all of the windows. Never ever leave the doors open “just for a second.” And don’t assume because your birds wings are clipped that they can’t escape. They can still fly, just not very well, which means they can’t fly away from predators well.

A nightmare for any bird parent. On day 2 of having my budgies, I let them out of the cage inside the home and they flew and flapped in the house franatically. They weren't even at level 1 on the FPFCT scale. My heart ached to see them so lost and confused. I felt like I not only lost their trust but they will never come back to the cage and I will have to open the window and let them out in the open. I got one of the two inside by making him sit on a hand held perch. The other one just refused to come and I had to force her in. I cried for handling my little girl so badly that day. With god's grace and my little birdies' humongous hearts, I am in their good books again. 🙏❤️ May all of your budgies live a happy, healthy and long life.
I just recently caught a parakeet that was at my mothers wild bird feeder. She was flying with the sparrows. I don’t know how long she was out there. I first saw her on a sat it day and after days and hours of trying to lure her to me it finally happened. She kept flying to me after five days of trying to get her used to me she was finally comfortable with me. I sat outside on the fifth day for six hours. I took the chance of putting a blanket over her to catch her. I knew if I didn’t do it she would die. It was getting very cold outside. In the evenings it was getting in the low forties. I saved her. My heart was full. I posted on Fb to see if anyone was missing a bird. I haven’t heard anything yet. I’ve had her for almost a month.

I had a opposite experience lol let me explain...
In the past i had budgies as well and it was during a warm summer day when I was at work, had the kitchen window open for some needed air circulation, the cage of my budgies was closed ofcourse.
When I came back from work and was unpacking some errands i suddenly noticed a budgie on top of my kitchen cabinets, at first I panicked and thought I left my budgie cage open accidentally and and quickly closed my kitchen window and door, then i realized my two budgies where sitting peacefully in their cage, seems their chirping attracted this 'happy' strangers into my kitchen.
After a day or two i found the owner via some fb page for local people, happened to be a little girl living less then a block from me, she accidentally left her bedroom window open due to warm weather but forgot to close her budgie cage.
Till this day she still waves at me when see each other in the street 😄👍🏻

Does this also work for love birds. I just got a new baby love bird and he got out of his cage when I was feeding him. He is in the house but wont come to me.
Last summer the day before I was going to play land my three budgies used to stay in the garage out of their cage because it was hot and we accidentally opened the garage only a little but when my mom was about to close the garage it opened even more!! My budgies stopped and flew to the other side and two of my budgies flew outside… but the third one stayed… we managed to catch her with my rabbits cage..and took her upstairs..I cried a lot… we even took the cage outside just in case the birds return… but nothing… but I was just glad one of my birds stayed.. :) and the next morning before we left to play land my mom drove to the pet store and hit another bird which was just like one of my birds which flew away! It was also green.. after some months we got another bird! Now I have all three birds!
I just want to thank my bird that never flew away because if she did then I would have never gotten the other two

Hello everyone myself Dr.shafik sheikh I am a junior vet and here is the story about my budgie who flew away
I purchased a budgie when I was in 7th grade he flew away 2 times from the cage , both the time he circled around the town , crows chased him ,I remember there was a massive crow crowd that chased him but I don't gave up and I went crazy , I ran in the whole locality 😂 tracking the budgie and luckily caught him at first at the roof of my neighbour and second in a dense tree now
Learn them a whistle to come and make them one favourite stick to sit on.
I always get my budgie in her cage easily.
Btw you know a budgie can't see well in the dark.

Mine just flew out a window, i live really high up and hes never been out in the open yet bc he isnt fully tamed. We looked for hours but cldnt find him esp bc of how dark it was. Its been so long and its so cold out no glimpse of him too. Im ok if he doesnt wanna come home anymore, i’ll accept it if he doesnt but i just wanna know if hes okay or not
My problem is that her cage is in an elevated position that is too high to climb up to. His partner is still in the cage, its a large cage that is not easily moved. She has been out overnight, I have secured a towel to the cage that just reaches the floor, I’m hoping she can figure out to climb up the towel and get home. Wish us luck, I have my fingers crossed.

Portland Oregon newspaper had an article of a boy who lost his cockatiel. He did find it with help of all the neighbors and was a happy ending. I want to locate that boy and give him a gift for his bird. What a very happy ending.

There is this budgie that I think was purposely released into the wild he’s been outside for about a month, luckily we have a neighbor that feeds the wild birds in our complex. I have tried for the past five days to catch this budgie he does not like being touched, and will not get close enough for you to touch him, just out of arms reach. I do not have a cage or the money to purchase one, I have been trying to sit next to where he eats with a small hand towel and cover him with it so I can gently pick him with one so I can bring him to my friend who is an experienced bird owner. The only problem is, I’m not an experienced bird owner and I don’t know how to catch him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My budgie flew out the door today. I heard her chirps but now I don't :( I put my other bird outside to see if she would come back but didn't hear her. It's cold outside and hawks usually visit.

I brought 4 budgies 5 days ago. Now all of them escaped from their cage as I was changing food and water. They are in the same room which is closed by me from inside. So I am in the room too. What shall I do to guide them back?

One escaped and is in the highest place of the room . I, like an idiot, opened the cage door and put food inside hoping the budgie would return but instead another budgie flew out. Now i have two inside and two outside. I dont know what to do. I am crying

My budgie flew out of its cage and went to the rooftop and he was on the building across us. We cant get him cuz its quarantine and we don't have a quarantine pass. He escaped because my dad was being stubborn and didn't do what i told him to do so no budgies will fly out.

My budgie flew away two days ago. I know she loves me a lot. I used to open her cage inside the house so she could fly freely. But she never tried to fly or escape even if I let the cage open for hour. But that day when my mom took her outside for ☀️
Mom didn't notice cage was open..my budgie got scared and flew away 😢
When my mom told me about this I hurried outside without sweater and tried to find her but no result 😭
And now m feeling like I lost something very precious to me. Missing her chirp, the way she plays with me, shows her anger ,or get upset when I scold her...even a blind could see how much she loves me.
She was such a attention seeker bird.
Whenever me and my mom watch TV together she makes noises to get my attention. She didn't care if anyone talking with her or not. But when I don't talk to her she gets upset for real. That's how my budgie was😭
I don't know why m upset for a bird. But m really missing her a lot 😭
well mine did escape not bc I opened the door of the cage its bc they learned when I open the door to give them food.. and I know that he doesn't like me bc it level 1 :(

my female budgie today escaped by herself although she has 5-6 chicks and so her mate also lives with her but toDAY WHEN I PUT THEIR CAGE WITH OTHER CAGES OUTSIDE FOR SUN SHE ESCAPED BY HERSELF BY LIFTING THE MINI DOOR UP, SOMEHOW,,, I DON'T KNOW WHY WOULD SHE DO THAT ALTHOUGH SHE HAS CHICKS TOO AND I ALSO TAKE CARE OF THEM ...BUT HER GOING OUT UNNOTICED IS WHAT SCARES ME

Today my budgies escaped their cage, and they were two, i actually had 4 but 2 were in another cage and two were in another. one pair which was together in one of the cages were coco and jay. i kept them outside happily yesterday night since they needed fresh air. today in the morning i checked they were gone! before that i remember hearing coco's and jay's loud chirps (i couldnt see them tho) since they were probably happy.... later i found out that in that time they were actually out of the cage! i dont even know what to do now :( i hope the enjoy freedom forever, but there is so much danger for them and what will they eat? they were untamed so there is litterally no way left i can catch them. i cant believe they BOTH escaped by opening a small door :( now i only have got my other pair, minty and joy. I miss coco and jay soooo much i hope they can come back home and i kept that cage they were in outside the window in case they decide to come back.

my aviary outside had one escaped and i saw it go out and fly up, and the local sparrow hawk caught it in mid air, no way the escaped budgie coming back RIP :(

If one of my budgies escapes it's kind of a death sentence since I have two cats and one catches birds often. That's why I always check if the cage is secure and cat proof.

In 2015 My female budgie evertime that i get it out of the cage she was return to it, but one time it was a couples of sparrows in my window, then the budgie was cherping at sparrow but infortunately the window was open then she flies away with them, i don't know where is she right now and i hope she's okay and a have a great life 😣😣😥😥😧😧, but in july 2019 in night, a green female budgie was on my Windows my mom and my sister see her then i come slowly to catch her but she don't fly away and she was friendly, i think she was escaped or someone escaped ber, whatever now i'm gonna get her a male budgie.
and you didn't think to post something online about finding this budgie. id be a bit pissed if one of my birds escaped and someone found them and didn't try to post something about it

The trouble is I have a lot of birds in my backyard the magpie is a common bird in my yard and I tried putting the cage outside in in no time a big magpie swooped down to eat him but I got him in time but now my beloved bird got out and I couldn’t find him then it got dark 😢 my hear broke I spent every day with him taming him and his cere was turning blue . Cried 😢I doubt he made cos of the birds outside literally swooping at the windows where my budgie sat looking out .
