  • Update: Around the 7:00 mark I talk about ordering the extended Weaver 49340 mount. I did order that mount, and it did not work with the Crossfore II scope in the video. The ring clamps are further spaced out and the tube length on the Crossfire II is too short and would be clamping on the scopes bell housing.
I’m stuck with the poor eye box location using the weaver 49350 side-mount rings with this scope. The space between the scope clamp rings on the Weaver 49350 are closer together and will appropriately clamp to the tube body.

A 1-5 scope gives a little mire clearance and works fine for the 30-30.

After mounting scope . You will need a hammer extension. 😊

Cool set up. Did you like sighting your target with this scope this far back? How well did the 94-44 eject the spent shells? Did they miss the scope?

My 94 is a 1978 also. And I've used this type of mount for years. I have a 1-5 Leopold. In the mount. It's amazing the accuracy im getting. 200 yard accuracy for hunting is easy.😊

Nice video, so you didn’t need a WEAVER Side Mount Base - #M?

Allows you to remove the actual mount w/ rings & scope w/ ease and back on with just two simple screws. Very common style/method of scoping during pre and post-era WW2 and also with right size scope, allows you to never even have to remove it to use iron sights. Gives you best of both worlds.
