That looks like some prime grazing land for there, a high stock density of 2 cow/calf pairs per 500 acres. lol

LOL. But when they’re finished they’ll have enough grass for 2 cow/calf pairs per half-acre.

He’s actually putting the tape on the right direction. Not sure why others disagree. You do not want the torn off tape end turning into the threads. It should be tailing behind.

When a 500’ roll of the 3/4” HDPE pipe is unrolled, will it lay out reasonably flat or does it tend to recoil back into a roll? I’m wondering if I need to lay mine out for a few days before I can work with it. Thank you in advance,

I'm fixing to do this project... So with a frost line of about 24-30" do you have no trouble reaching down in there to hook up And getting that male end to release in what... a 6" riser? My arm is only 24"s and that would be just my fingers pulling that trigger. Thank you.

I always wrap Teflon tape, (PTFE tape, I think Teflon is illegal, too toxic), a little over the edge. I've failed to do that in the past, and had the tape pushed from the threads, bunching up below. Wrapping over doesn't allow the threads purchase on the tape to push it. (I'm an old line hand. We always give 3 wraps of tape).

    As a fitter
Teflon tape or pipe dope doesn't hold water back
All it is a lubrication so you can tighten a little more

      @@iamchillydogg not really
The threads are. Flat at top and bottom.
But with mass production you can't tighten them up
With lubricant 1 more turn gets the flats at top dropping into the flat at bottom

What are the potential impacts from groups of border traffickers and smugglers? Is this a high traffic area for that acivity? If so, what precautions are you taking to protect the line from "coyotes" who will have zero compunction about cracking open those couplers to get a drink for a band of thirsty travellers ? Private property owners along the border will tell you that northbound groups care not a whit for the property and infrastructure they encounter along their path and will do what they need to do in the harsh desert.
Is there some kind of meter set up to tell you if the water flow suddenly turns up full blast and doesn't stop? That could serve as a warning for the managers so they can get out there with a team to walk the fence and replace any coupler(s).
Will you instead leave a male attachment in each coupler which would allow passing groups to simply drink from the connection, removing the necessity of simply smashing the coupler and the resulting costly losses of water and replacements?
