That looks so scary. Bad enough the lights not working but somewhere as busy as that looks horrible. Well dealt with by the learner. Great video even for people like me who have already passed some time ago. Never had to deal with non-working lights at a junction/crossroads before.

3:40 The road ahead becomes too narrow for two way car traffic. The oncoming driver has already decide to mount the pavement irrespective of what we do. The old fashioned kerb stones on our nearside will puncture a tyre and ruin a wheel rim if we smash into them. I should just stop.
When a traffic light controlled junction is a T junction I believe priority reverts to main road/side road in the event of a traffic lights failure. This is the problem with traffic light controlled junctions where it is a cross roads there is generally no obvious default
