Geez, and no one even came close mentioned possibly, yet quietly, COMPLETELY refurbish the American Eagle! That baby's 40 YEARS OLD! strrengthen the foundations, redo the track, upgrade the trains so 'both can race one another again in '23!
I'd say they'd wait till the 50th season....I hope. If they don't do something to eagle by the 50th season, my hopes for them refurbishing the ride are out the window

After visiting Magic Mountain I can confirm the park needs a giant discovery and for sure an RMC Raptor! They both fill so many gaps in the park’s lineups

what gaps would an RMC Raptor fill? goliath already has a drop at a similar angle, fast transitions, an ejector hill, a stall, and a dive loop.

The next two major rides will definitely be those two judging by Six Flags’ current trends. Really hope the stay away from DC with the Discovery though
roaring rapids has been having work done on it all season. my last 2 visits over the last 2 weeks i’ve seen them filling the reservoirs with water & there are new pieces on the bottom of the reservoir along the track. an employee mentioned they overheard last week that it should be up & running by the end of august. i don’t see them removing it as long as it runs smoothly once it is finally back up
edit: as of 7/21 in the evening, they were placing rafts inside the river. expecting it to be open in the next couple weeks

It was running empty rafts today (July 25). The park spent over a million dollars on its rehab last year, the first major work done on it since it launched as White Water Rampage at the end of Marriott's Great America in 1984.

I go to great America multiple times per week. This would be such a good addition. It feels like half of the rides there are closed right now. Also, buccaneer battle nobody liked, and also nobody I know does the go karts. The go karts never has a line when I go even on it’s busiest days. Also, I feel as if the Little Dipper should be moved more towards kidzopolis. It fits the county fair theme perfectly and would free up some space if you were to take the go karts out as well. Just my opinion. Loved the video
You were right! My bet is buccaneer battle and the demon plot of land (which has been closed as well) will be used for a larger coaster in 2025
idk right now, demon is a classic and it is still open and running, at least it was when I went this October. They very well could, though.
Paint more rides and buildings and make the park look good before putting in attractions / park is neglected
It is so funny walching this in 2024 when sky streaker opend and he got some things right.
SFGA is my home park and I attend quite often. This park definitely needs a Crazanity ( make it record breaking ), get rid of the useless watchtower and get a Skyscreamer, Single Rail Raptor would be nice, but if you're going to clone the entire freaking park: revamp American Eagle and clone Twisted Colossus ( with added twists and insanity ), Replace Condor with a Zamperla Air Race or similar flat ride.
i don’t think they should get rid of the watchtower because it’s pretty much a landmark. they use it for quite a few occasions to have the flag up there and used to have the gorilla for fright fest on there. i also think that it looks pretty good with the park.

Roaring Rapids is reopening soon. They did a lot of maintenance and poured new concrete
I have a season pass but haven't gone this year yet because there's no compelling reason to do so! I will make it there eventually, but a repainted Yankee Harbor isn't much of an effort. I wish Six Flags would amp up their focus on this park. They certainly can't blame it on lack of attendance!

If they do the new Revolution that would be awesome! Plus they have no problem slapping the same logo on two rides. Back in 2011 the same exact logo design for green lantern stand up coaster and first flight were used for both of them at great adventure and magic mountain. They should have no issue. Great video!
Also, whatever they do, they better add shade if they plan on doing a refurbishment.
Everything you mentioned in this video is SPOT ON. Yes, DC Universe was a slap in the face as an Illinoisan who goes to this park almost every year. Just praying that they stay away from DC with both these rides if they do add them.

Great America is my favorite Six Flags park, but I think more flat rides and a standout roller coaster could make it a near perfect park.
I believe that SFGAm would go for a B&M dive instead of a RMC Raptor because of the capacity and it would make sense for SF to give that roller coaster to one of their mid tier parks
My family was there for frightfest 2022. Revolution was running and packed while we were there.
To be fair, it hasn’t been Yankee Harbor in quite a long time. The lighthouse has been gone for years and the boardwalk along the water has been closed for years now as well since they decided not to remove the haunted house that was built there.

Demon has a lot of days where it’s closed. I think it makes sense to replace demon with a rmc raptor model.
I also wouldn't mind A Bugs Bunny Boomtown replacing the former Camp Cartoon. Maybe even relocate a few Kidzopolis Rides to make room for a Giga Discovery?
Up, Up, and Away can become "Tweety's Sky High Balloons"
Zoom Jets can become "Bugs Bunny Ranger Pilots"
That and a Kids Tea Cups With Water called "Daffy Ducks Bucket Blaster" and you've got a great area.
We need a Bugs Bunny land! We were the OG Six Flags with the Looney Tunes license and they took away our Bugs Bunny National Park in 2010. I agree, the should change Camp Cartoon into a Bugs Bunny Land.

Great video! However, I actually think there’s a stealth location for a single rail that would work, due to how narrow that footprint is. I think a single rail could fit just north and next to the train near the park entrance. All you’d need to do is relocate or retire Hometown Fun Machine and the drink/sports bottle station and that’s where you can put line queue and the station would be elevated over the train tracks. You would likely need to alter the entrance to Maxx Force and take move the slurpie shop across from the Carousel, and I think a single rail could fit there.
I think they could replace Demon for a single rail, the plot of land seems too easy for a clone. The ride has to reach its lifespan sooner than later, also im hoping American eagle gets a makeover/maybe rmc treatment for the 2026 season (50th anniversary for great america). I could see the frisbee ride going in for buccaneer battle tbh but the single rail coaster or a dive coaster in that spot would be awesome too
I've been thinking they should replace it with something else for a while.....but you know what, I rode it Saturday and it is running great. I did my look to the left trick for the corkscrews and it didn't beat me up at all. In the back seat too. There's a charm to it for sure. A remnant from the past. Plus it arguably has the best theming in the park
Definitely a no-brainer, I loved revolution so I hope they keep to the theming of "The New Revolution" and add a giant discovery.
I can't begin to tell you how confused I was thinking you were talking about California's Great America as I completely spaced on this being about Six Flags' Great America.

I don't get why a single rail raptor wouldn't be a good fit. Magic Mountain and Six Flags Great Adventure both have better attendance numbers than Six Flags Great America and both have single rail coasters that have great loading capacity. Trains literally take off from the station before the the running train even hits the midcourse break run. And the fact the loading track never stops moving is what helps with loading time. They literally run four trains all the time.

@@carsonog333 I would love to see the Six Flags chain get a ride experience like Alien Encounter that used to be at Disney. It was scary asf, intense and unnerving.
Something I think that they should do is remove the theater that is next to camp cartoon, expand and retheme camp cartoon to looney toons, move over the rides or some of the rides from kidzopolis over there and use the kidzopolis space for something else. That whole section is just ugly at this point in time and needs something new. Also, not sure if anyone else has an opinion on this...but get rid of the picnic grove and use that land for the next big coaster
Wilderness Theater is still used occassionally for all sorts of competitions, usually dancing and cheerleading. The Picnic Grove is used frequently for corporate events and several Grad Nights...it can host thousands guests, and it's a huge money maker.
I think the Eagle needs an RNC renovation.
from six flags history, they'd add 1 foot to the pendelum ride just to create the title of a "never seen before" attraction

Roaring rapids is coming back they had a sign Infront of it like last week that said "coming soon" and on the side where you can shoot water you can also see they are starting to run water through it
I want them to build something where the Sky Trail ropes course used to sit and I say that new addition should be their own addition of Sky Screamer. It's one of the very few parks in the Six Flags chain that doesn't have one of those rides and it would be a great addition for the parks skyline.
More than any new ride, SFGAm needs a lot of upkeep work done and major upgrades in landscaping. I’ve been to several other parks this year and none is covered in weeds, peeling rides and buildings, and random junk thrown in places where the public can see it than Great America. As one of the top drawing parks in the chain, they should be leading by example like Fiesta Texas, not looking like stuff isn’t cared about at all. I want nothing but the best for this place but it’s just a shame to see the condition it’s in now.
I agree that would be a great add for SFGA next year. although I think the flash branding on V2 probably is a point toward them just throwing a DC logo on it and calling it a day,
1)Capacity is irrelevant for Six Flags. If they cared about capacity they wouldn't have put a 4D free spin at 2 of the top 3 attendance parks of Great America & Great Adventure. Maxx Force also has horrible capacity & they are running it with 1 train all year. They also put a Raptor at Great Adventure & SFMM & at one point had a Zacspin, horrible capacity at SFMM
2)They don't care if the top 3 parks have all the same coaster, SF doesn't expect but a handful of people to visit SFMM, GAm & GAdv. It's one of the reasons that SF clones rides, ie..6 Free spins, they do not expect much cross park visits, which Cedar fair does, hence they have always had a Platinum pass for that purpose & a chain wide season fast lane plus option.
3)As mentioned the flat rides mostly are dated & stink. The park could potentially use any number of flats, Zamperla Discovery, Endeavour, Air Race, Nebulaz, or Funtime Skyscreamer. The Endeavour, Air Race or Nebulaz all would fit in Revolution's current spot.
4)While Buccaneer Battle's days seem numbered, that also may the case for Loggers Run. Does the park really need to 40+ yr old flumes right next to each other. Loggers has not been open much, if it all this year.
Great adventure is getting a giga in 2024. It’s basically confirmed by most of the workers their.
No SF park is getting a giga. Their finances do not support it under their Capex allocation strategy. There is slso the fact SF is about to produce a horrible Q2 financial report. The parks are having light attendance and they are cutting costs because of it. Parks across the chain cut operations hours for July and cut more hours this week. Parks have cut up to 2 hrs off closing time and a bunch of parks are closing as early as 6pm or 7pm during the main season of July and August. They cut hours even more this week thru labor day.we The new strategy is floundering with the new CEO because in classic SF fashion they picked someone with no theme park industry experience. He doubled the price on the same low level experience while the low end base SF relies heavily on are the most susceptible to inflation. The membership and pass base has been eviscerated

They use the Roaring Rapids area for things like company parties (namely Bob Rohrman).

Nice Video, What I would suggest SFGAM do. Single Rail - in the spot suggested, however make it a custom layout , 140 feet tall, 3400 feet long and use 10 person trains to perform more like the first gen, .. you would have the lift hill go over the service road and the first half of the ride be where the BB was, then the block brake and second twisty side over the go cart plot.. As for the Giant Discovery,.. how about the land just next to the Demon Lift, seems to be enough room there.. Remove Revolution and Expand the kids area and could even add a Jr Suspended coaster where the Sky Coaster is now.. With the removal of BB, also remove Aquaman, and Put a Power Splash in its place, also add a Sky Flyer in that area .... lastly build a giga Coaster to replace the Bumper cars.. Let me explain.. That Queue and station would be next to Superman, the coaster would run the edge of the park all the way to the interstate. The Lift would go from Superman and crest over the main gate of the park. Much like Gatekeeper, Ive done a drawing and it fits. of course before any of this SF would need to sell the park to an operator that would pay for all this, since SF wont. Oh and while you are at it, RMC American Eagle and add 1100 feet of track to Goliath.. ;) I mean I have already spent 100mil in my thoughts so why not!

To bad there is not enough acreage to do something completely opposite as a test. Many old rides are in storage including kid rides. Those that are still operational to create a new old territory maybe called back to the future or something like that. Locate it near the Eagle. Even food choices will be back from older times. No I'm not old, I just think outside the box.
Remember american eagle is 40 years old and us running one side bc it is falling apart, removing it would open up tons of space

Park has gone down the pooper. Super long lines , crappy bathrooms, poor generic themes and half the rides don’t work
I track % of rides open. Everyday 86-91% of the rides run. Lines are the shortest they have been in years. They also have made quite a few improvements in maintenance
During my visit here in June of 2022. I must say - I was shocked at how bad the park looked... For being one of the BIG 3 SF parks, this place needs a ton of TLC. Mainly in the landscape department. It just felt like the current GM and his team - don't care about the park as much as they should.. Look at what's going on over at Great Adventure and then compare that with Great America. It's just a shame. Great video! I totally agree with your thoughts as well!

I do as well but they legally cannot since the American Eagle is considered a historical landmark in Gurnee. It’s keep it running as is, or tear it down, or change the law

There’s probably more potential than you would think for the new revolution theme. Six flags will probably name their single rail wonderwoman because they already have the name. Granted it will probably just be crazanity.
I honestly hope they put something where Buckaneer Battle is, the only reason it hasn't opened is low staffing, combined with low demand. Even if it's just a new flat ride, I'd be happy 😂
I'd take a Jersey Devil clone but because anything else would probably be insanely short. Not so sure I'd care for a dive. Giga discovery would be cool though

I think they need to do an overhaul of the kids rides. Camp Cartoon needs desperate attention, could be an area for a new ride.

i was just at sfga last monday and this monday so i came here to figure out if they are actually removing bb since it says it’s closed for the season. honestly i hope it does.
They could also move Kids Zone to where the Bucaneers battle is as there is already a group of small kids rides over there.
What about the camp cartoon area and the wilderness theater and picnic area behind it? All of that area is huge, underutilized and should be redone.
Wilderness Theater is underutilized, but the Picnic Grove is huge and hosts many corporate events plus Grad Nights...it's a big money maker.
The picnic area isn't going away. Almost every major theme park has an area like this for corporate events, field trips, etc. It also gets used for Fright Fest. I want coasters and better flat rides as much as the next guy but there's more to an amusement park than that. I could see Camp Cartoon getting scrapped for a flat ride or maybe even a coaster if they scrap the flumes too. I just hope they relocate Sprocket Rocket in this scenario

It’s not unknown that America lately has been seen as negative in all areas
And given how common it is now for people to flip their shit at things that they don’t like and have people validate those feelings no matter how ridiculous
It wouldn’t be smart to keep an American theme anywhere in the park where it can be removed
(Hence why American eagle hasn’t changed)
It isn’t like the 80’s or 90’a where practically everybody was proud to be American and had no problem with American flags and the colors everywhere
Now a lot people turn their nose at anything that seems to even praise America for any reason
I definitely think most people won’t make their opinions known on the theming
But nowadays all it takes is one or two incidents and outbursts taken to the internet to screw up a places reputation
I wouldn’t be shocked if SFA Started changing their theming and started phasing out their American theming wherever they can

Not really space, the Discoveries take up way more room than Revolution & it's already shoe horned in between games & the kids area.

The roaring rapids tunnel apparently collapsed as i was told by a op while on the scenic railway, why that hasn't been fixed or why it isn't open is besides me

There's nothing wrong with the tunnel/cave...it was painted black on the inside during the rehab. Empty rafts were running the course today, July 25.
ok only issue with that rollercoaster is there’s a big maintenance road that goes right thru this spot all the way down to superman so what r they gonna do about that
A custom lay out could work with that. We already have a road under a coaster at great america (American Eagle)
true but there’s buildings n stuff back there too. so step 1 would be relocating all those buildings
@@daniellaubhan5521 looking at it from the Aerial view I think it could easily be done. There really isn't much in terms of buildings between the Buccaneers and go karts specifically. And honestly, it might be a good idea to open up this area because the circular layout of SFGAm is kind of dumb imo. Being able to Traverse from demon end of county fair to Yukon/DC would do wonders for walking through the park. I admittedly don't know how they would handle maintenance infrastructure if this happened and this would be a huge project but building a coaster in this spot could be the perfect opportunity to do it and they could figure something out if they wanted too. Alright I'll put my pipe down now
I think they should replace the American eagle. That ride only uses one of the trains. It uses a big plot of land just to get to the ride in the first place. The ride is getting old and is really bumpy
Yeah I went on it for the first time yesterday and I found the ride bumpy and boring 🤷♀️

I'm fine with the DC universe area. I even think they should expand The area out to Superman because Superman and TDK are already right there and I honestly never cared for the Mardi Gras area (concept isn't bad but they never did anything with it). Those rides could easily be rethemed. It's weird having DC rides at other areas of the park. I agree with the video that naming a discovery Wonder Woman in the county fair area would be dumb. Just scrap one or maybe even both of the flumes and build a wonder woman coaster there and keep Revoltion's theme
