Update: I went to Great America this past Saturday, and we were able to ride Demon (aka is WAS open.) This was only my second time at the park, and last time I came (this summer) it wasn’t open. I’ve only ridden it once, but it was a fun and wild coaster that I would hate to see go.
I remember how excited I was to ride Demon the first season it was open. It was the first looping coaster I ever rode. I hope Six flags treats it right!
The Demon if I remember correctly was called the Turn of the Century initially, then with a few changes it became the Demon. I first rode this coaster some 35 years ago. Maybe 40 years? It scared 😱 the heck out of me at first. I have a fear of heights so..... and going 🙃 Upside-Down wasn't on my to-do list. My stepsister took me with her son and she got me on every singe ride and I LOVED IT! The ironic part is I was so afraid I made it so we rode on the back of the ride not knowing that it gives you the biggest belly drop. Marriotts Great America as it was called when we went way back when, was much smaller, but still for a kid it was massive! Once I got my Driver's License and my own car I made sure we would go multiple times a year. From the American Eagle to Iron Wolf, Shock Wave, Z-Force, the Power Dive(Space Shuttle swinging ride), the Tidal Wave, Batman, and even the Whizzer, we hit them all! There was also a Bobsledding type ride as well. Whitewater Rampage, and one short water ride set near the Demon, where you'd get soaked again if you stood on the bridge and waited for another "boat" to come down the steep hill. Then 🌊SPLASH!🌊 you were soaked. Those were some of the BEST DAYS of my life. Haunted Great America....with the Legendary American Eagle with one side of the ride it's cars running backwards. Or with your back facing the hill and your eyes 👀 looking backwards. It was epic! It was truly a special time for me. Something I loved very much.

Really because structurally its not safe for both. Which is why they only ran red. A retrack wont make it safe. I remember seeing bolts fall out of it when i was a kid 25 years ago. The ride needs burned.

The Hangover Queue is still up, but Revolution's spot has been taken over by scenery and paths. Hope this helps! 😊
I was there opening day at just 5 years old. Turn of the century was pretty fun but the Demon stepped it up. Funny how 40+ years later we use the Demon as a beginner coaster along with Whizzer. I would hate to see it go, it had one of the coolest revamp themes I ever saw till Batman came in the 90's. Sad to say but the Days of Demon and Eagle are numbered, I will miss them but the land they occupy can accommodate much newer and exciting coasters that aren't a safety issue due to age (The Eagle is looking horrid up close). I still remember the train rides around the park and seeing the sign "Future site of the Great American Eagle" at one of the post bases. It's been a great run but it's time (Tears me up to think about it).
I always had the idea that Great America needs a "great" unified kid's area, instead of the two lifeless ones they have now. I thought it could be really novel and fun to tear out the Bucc Battle and Go-Karts, and then use their plots to create a Yukon gold rush-themed Looney Tunes area with like this giant fake fallen tree bridge connecting them. Relocate and re-theme the rides from Camp Cartoon and Kidzopolis there and then use the open land from those two spots for new rides. Oh, and Revolution's plot screams Nebulaz. Just saying.
As a long time park goer I'd be extremely sad to see Demon go but I'd accept it if they replaced it with another coaster within 1-2 years. Right I think too they are going to get a rail coaster.. Not that its bad or anything.. But the park in California got Wonder Woman rail coaster a few years ago, it only seems befitting for Great America to get one.. Since they have every other coaster except a dive coaster.
Went yesterday (10/21/23), and the Demon was up and operating! Went on it as the first ride of the day. American Eagle was only running one side of the track.
AE has only run one side for quite a while now. Lately they’ve gone back and forth in which side they operate while they make repairs on the other side. I’m guessing the structure probably can’t handle racing anymore either by now
I really want Demon to stay as it was one of my first looping coasters. I love it so much. The day I went the park was empty and I rode it twice in a row without getting off. Great memories. Would be very sad to see it close. Praying it can stay, however I see why they may need to get rid of it.
Sadly it has to go, it's just too old. I would hope they build a newer bigger version and give a nod to Demon, maybe like "Demons Revenge" or something in that vain.
@@animalyze7120 They keep making posts about “Fear the wrath” and some people dug up and found they trademarked The Wrath of Rakshasa which I’m pretty sure means The Wrath of Demon.
The Demon part aged like milk, what makes it even worse on your hand is that its getting a big brother and a whole entire area themed to demons (rumors from the president of SFGAm) which imo is awesome.
I was on the train yesterday and going by demon there was an excavator and some other equipment that was demolishing one of the boulders/rock creations right across from the demons loading station 😩😩
Just wanted to say that the Demon was up and running this past weekend 10/28/23. It was on all day,but did have a 10 min stop before the park was going to close due to a technical issue. On the plus side they let us ride 3 times in a row 😊.
Great America is and has been my home park for as long as I can remember so it is definitely a shame to even speculate demons removal and possibly some other rides I have tried yet failed to ride but this is still exiting news that the park is getting a new ride it needed and I’ve wanted(I wanted it to be an axis coaster though).❤❤
S&S is responsible for arrows “legacy” parts/program. They never stopped manufacturing replacement parts for arrow coasters as it’s literally their business. I keep hearing that as an excuse but it’s very wrong and invalid overall. S&S has, will, and never stopped supplying replacement arrow parts.🤦♂️
Basul has also kept his word with that by removing rides at Discovery Kingdom. They have been retiring a ton of flat rides that are down very frequently. I would not be surprised if they removed The Flash Vertical Velocity due to it always being broken
I’ve seen it down once I was in line too, next to ride. I actually got it recorded lol. It was on the 30th of September. It was the last ride of the night, but it broke down so we ran to bat man lol
I saw they're removing the rockwork around the loops of demon but they've had boards on the track while taking it down to prevent it from getting damaged so hopefully that's a sign that demon is staying
Might be going into storage too. They would want to save it from damage to keep it simple to take apart. If it’s damaged it’s harder to sell to another park.
If they get rid of the demon I hope they replace it with something just as tame, I know many people want crazy rides, but I generally liked how friendly it was to younger me and it allowed me to get over my fears of coaster, that and the whizzer + Little Dipper in the kids area. So I hope they don’t get rid of it then replace it with some random coaster that’s completely different in ride quality.
This Saturday and Sunday are the last two days to ride Mardi Gras Hangover and Revolution, both worth a ride and the sites of some great memories with people I met.
I never got to ride the demon, but my dad said he loved it. I would be extremely sad if it did leave, but only because i want to experience something that made my dad happy. I get it, it’s old, but i just want one chance to experience it.
I’ve been told that they’re just repairing the concrete rock work for Demon for it has started to crumble and deteriorate. That’s the only reason, I’ve been told, for Demon’s closure this year. A lot of rides need refurbishment for next season; Condor, Rapids, Mardi Gras Hangover, Eagle, and Demon Edit: As of today(October 20th), Demon is back operating
Hope Demon gets a proper farewell season in 2024 and then is replaced with a top tier Intamin blitz or something of the sort, like Velocicoaster or Maverick, in 2026. 2025 can bring a top flat ride like a skyscreamer near the Mardi Gras area. Great America is missing an elite Intamin, with its only Intamin being the V2.
Demon was open yesterday for Fright Fest. The lift mechanism was having trouble and hitched a couple times pulling the train up the hill, but it got up there.
Just came across a post from a Facebook group, showing that they tore We're at a soggy Six Flags Great America today- the rockwork between the two vertical loops is being removed, makes me wonder if it's a refurbishment, or replacement..
I think you’re spot on dude. Star flyer to replace revolution, the removal of Demon + surrounding rides for either a Vekoma or B&M dive. Demon’s Return 😈 And the expansion of DCU over Mardi Gras + removal of those rides I think would be a great place for a Raptor. But can we please get a Harley Quinn theme over Wonder Woman? Pleeeeease??? That’d be two much needed flats and two standout coasters in the park 😍 total pipe dream, but you gotta spend money to make money. I’d be sad to see Demon go, but it’s plot + the surrounding plots are too enticing to ignore.
I doubt they're going to do a clone. Because of the walk way that separates the loops, and corkscrews. They definitely need to make a custom layout just for that reason.
I love Revolution, and would be sad to see it go (ride ops on Revolution always felt so jolly and happy!) but with Sky Striker coming in, there really is no point to keeping it having a Star Flyer would be an awesome replacement
I'm honestly hopeful it's anything but a clone or a dive I don't think a dive would be the world class addition the park needs As a filler attraction yea but for a MAJOR Investment I don't think a gimmick ride like a dive would be very fitting
My best guess is that theyll replace the larson loop and add a raptor in its place connecting the dc sections. They dont have reason to remove demon as its not a big coaster and is a historic coaster.
Regarding Demon's rumor, it's not going away in the next couple years. I talked to a GAm ride operator at kings island while waiting in line for Banshee, and he said they're waiting on a new lift motor as the one they got in 2021 was having issues with it starting in the morning. It since got moved to Goliath, and that original motor is now a backup for the same ride. Once they get Demon's motor, it will be back up and running like normal. It's been ordered and being built, and I'm expecting it to be put in mid 2024.
The Demon was my favorite ride when I was a kid and it's now one of my kids favorite rides. The short line always helps of course. There were rumors in the 90's that the Eagle was gonna get torn down. 25 years later... And The Eagle hurts, like really bad, to ride now! My phone sent an SOS this past year when I went on it! For what was most likely my last time. I'd heard that The Demon was getting new head restraint designs. Hopefully that's the reason it's been closed. We saved The Wizzer! Now let's save the other original ride.
@@Procoaster Basically your phone tries to contact emergency services based on rapid button pushing. I never knew my phone did that actually. I was able to simply cancel it. My guess is it happens a decent amount at theme parks.
My phone sent an sos riding Eagle last night. Didn't know that mode even existed. Still fun but way rougher than it should be, particularly if you are not expecting it. Demon was up and running all day and mostly feeling smoother than I remember it being a few years back.
DEMON IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE! This topic has stressing the crap out of me. I emailed the staff team and they said they have no plans of removing Demon and there is nothing about it closing for good.
i'm with you too. i hadn't been to SFGAm in ages until i visited multiple times this past summer. every single time Demon was closed. Condor was always closed too (although not a coaster obviously). would love to get some last year rides on Demon
Since it reopened for the end of fright fest, it seems like it might just have one or two more operating seasons left. But the fact that they've started removing its theming with the rockwork doesn't seem promising for its future... guess we'll have to wait and see just how much time it has left.
it's hilarious b/c i went to Kings Island and Cedar Point this past summer and I remember going on Delirium and Max Air and thinking, man I wish SFGam had one of these and then the news broke around late August about Sky Striker. Cannot wait so excited!
i really loved demon! i went on june 28th and rode it twice and it didnt operate the next day. as far as i can tell, this mightve been the last time it was open! i loved the theming and the first drop and i think it would be sad to see a park original go. however the plot of land that would be created is very intriguing so hopefully if it is removed then the coaster put in its place pays homage to demon and is a worthy successor!
Demon, Turn of The Century at the time, and Corkscrew at Cedar Point both Premiered in 1976. Cedar Point has done an Outstanding Job of Keeping this Classic Arrow Coaster Operating. With the condition of the Demon, that's on Six Flags. S&S World Wide build, and supply parts for Older Arrow Dynamics Rollercoasters, and Attractions. The new Track that's being installed on Lochness Monster for 2024?? S&S!! They were also responsible for new Track on Adventure Express at Kings Island, to address some rough spots along the circuit a few years back. So Six Flags need to Stop Pussy-Footin' Around, Give Demon some much needed TLC, and Get S&S World Wide on the phone, and Save It!!
Even if they gave it TLC it's not the front liner or iconic ride for the park anymore Loch Ness monster is an Iconic still even today for BGW And Corkscrew is at a park that can afford to spend money on continuous upkeep on a ride that nobody really wants to ride anymore Demon if it were to be fixed up wouldn't attract that many people and nor does great america make enough money to just throw into upkeep for an old arrow coaster It's just not a good return on investment to fix it up Rather than tear it down and build a coaster there
I was at six flags yesterday, and from x-flight’s drop, I could see demon’s trains (or so i assume, as they were on the track) covered with a large white tarp. I don’t know what this means, but it’s just something I observed.
I have a love/hate relationship with Arrow loopers, and it would be sad to see Demon go away... but I would also trade it out for a better coaster in a heartbeat! Demon 2, anyone? 🤔
Demon used to get stuck all the time… loved it though 🤣 I miss Shock Wave and the migraines it used to give. Also Iron Wolf was such a fun ride… unless you stood up too high before they locked your height into position… then it was a true screamer!
Everyone is saying that SFGAm should be the next park to get a RMC Raptor as the next coaster. I don’t think I could see that happening and would prefer for that coaster to go to SFOG since it’s my home park and instead see a B&M Dive instead of a Raptor for capacity reasons. It also wouldn’t make sense for SF to add the same layout of the Raptor seen at SFGAv and cloning it to their last of the bigger parks and instead add it to their mid-tier parks since my home park falls into that category.
I worked at great america this summer and Demon wasn't operating due to issues with the "breaks" and just money and staffing in general. So demon is the most likely option to get headed out.
@@tigerrocks503chase8 Yeah it ain't going anywhere, they need a new lift hill motor since the one they replaced after Shockwave's broke wouldn't start in the morning
Demon was running this past weekend. Seems unlikely they replaced costly parts merely for the last couple weekends of the season. I think it's just not a popular ride for a limited staff. But I love it.
I'm hopeful for the future of Great America, prayers for more theming but also for bigger and better rides that aren't just roller coasters, like maybe an original dark ride or something?
If they keep it they need to change the restraints or add some padding. A lap bar only Arrow looper would be pretty good. But I don't love how Arrow OTSRs crush my boobs, to put it lightly.
Been seeing Hangover running during Fright Fest so it would make sense that its getting final rides before closure. Also demon hasnt ran since the middle of june and is about time to replace it
I hope they don't remove Demon. Demon was my first looping coaster, and has probably the best seats on an Arrow looping coaster. (UPDATE) I went to Six Flags Great America just yesterday, and Demon was open. The only thing they removed was the rocks around the vertical loops. Someone probably hit their head ngl.
Demon needs to go. It's a very sub par old coaster. I love nostalgia, and it definitely served its purpose, but all good things must come to an end. Revolution will go for sure, and I don't mind Mardi Gras Hangover leaving, but as long as they replace those rides with something great it'll be fine. I agree with you, for it's 50th anniversary they need an incredible high tech coaster.
As much as it is a classic, we need a replacement for American Eagle more than Demon. I think the only reason they keep it is for the nostalgia, but Goliath, Little Dipper and Viper more than fill that wooden coaster slot but in a much better way. I stopped riding American Eagle because the last time I rode it, it was so incredibly rough I got a headache and it takes up a LOT of land. I barely see people get on it. The only reason I think it still stands is because it's the biggest eyecatcher from street level next to the skyview and Raging Bull/Superman from the parking lot.
WOW! Demon apparently about to hit the dust? TBH, Great America hasn't even made plans to refurbish the American Eagle and bring back the blue train to once again race the red. THAT'S what they should do. Now, after hearing this, giving DEMON a proper send-off in 2024 would be a great way for it to go out. However, what ride could replace something that's technically been at the park since its beginning in 1976? Will B&M (creators of Batman:The Ride in '92) have a say in this? Intamin? Vekoma?
Demon, aka the concussion coaster. It’s been a favorite of my family for ever. Sad I can’t take my brothers on it though. It never opened since we started going in July. But I see them taking it down
The Demon was running yesterday (Sunday October 22,2023.) the line was too long for me to make it worth waiting for. But yes it’s time to take it down and put a new ride there.
Demon was the first roller coaster I went on that went upside down. I’d actually say it’s a perfect ride for beginners trying to take their next step towards bigger stuff. I would hate to see it removed.
It has a historical plaque from Marriott, great America, because it is turn of the century as it was originally known when the park first opened in 1976, but I don’t expect to know you to know that because you weren’t probably there I was and then it became the demon !! And this stupid waste of time pendulum ride that people like me who love coasters, won’t waste their time with !! Six flags needs to go as company someone else needs to take over !! Demon was open the whole time for freight fest do better wow
@@Alimator_210 that’s a good reason for them to give the train to dl, because if magic mountain chooses not to run the second train then why would they give them another one, but Darien lake only has one train
If they replaced Demon with an RMC Raptor or the rumored T-Rex, I honestly wouldn’t be mad at that. SFGAm is definitely brewing something big for the 50th year.
I think they keep Demon, and do something with the Eagle for 2026. Both rides need serious refurbishment to bring them to their glory days, and nostalgia would tie in nicely with the anniversary
I have always loved the Demon and when I rode it last around8 years ago, it was very rough but I would hate to lose it. I recall them talking about taking down Whizzer years ago and people fought to save it, same will happen with Demon
I think the Big Easy Balloons are going to be removed instead of Revolution. Yes I know, it would be redundant to have both revolution AND sky striker but the Big Easy Balloons are also in the Mardi Gras section. SFGAm might be retheming that area with a new flat ride package so it would make sense to take out Big Easy Balloons. There’s also the fact that both of the rides are in the same coffin. They’re getting rid of the entire area and replacing it with something new. Yes they have roaring rapids but that would probably be extremely expensive to remove so I think it will stay like it did last time.
Demon is a classic for sure. But, in my opinion, its a rough, headache inducing ride. I would love to see it replaced with a single rail RMC painted black and themed to the classic demon. Even with the theme song!
I'm surprised no one mentioned how much your head bangs back & forth on Demon when going thru the two corkscrews at the end. It's no longer a smooth ride IMO
I hope Selim Basoul sells a flat or two to their neighbor in the east, Michigan's Adventure. It would be a win-win and great for the environment as it will be less rides in the landfill.
I was there on 8/12/24 and Demon is open. They need to cut it and the Eagle. On Eagle, going up the hill you could feel the car coming off the track. People will form new relationships with new rides. Give them a send off and let em go.

I can confirm that The Demon is running again. I was just there for Fright Fest and it's up and running just fine.
It should be running next year.
Great video man! I love how polished and well done your work is. Demon is memorable but brutal! The end is definitely near for that headache machine.
In the past few years it has actually had really good reliability. Since the pandemic I have yet to see it down
I’ve seen it down once I was in line too, next to ride.
@@KiDmO365I’d be very shocked if they could find a buyer for a nearly 50 year old roller coaster
Rebuild an all new Demon! New and improved.
A lot of rides need refurbishment for next season; Condor, Rapids, Mardi Gras Hangover, Eagle, and Demon
Edit: As of today(October 20th), Demon is back operating
Hope Demon gets a proper farewell season in 2024 and then is replaced with a top tier Intamin blitz or something of the sort, like Velocicoaster or Maverick, in 2026. 2025 can bring a top flat ride like a skyscreamer near the Mardi Gras area. Great America is missing an elite Intamin, with its only Intamin being the V2.
well, this didn't age well... Demon lives forever !
Demon was open yesterday for Fright Fest. The lift mechanism was having trouble and hitched a couple times pulling the train up the hill, but it got up there.
That’s always how it is
Just came across a post from a Facebook group, showing that they tore We're at a soggy Six Flags Great America today- the rockwork between the two vertical loops is being removed, makes me wonder if it's a refurbishment, or replacement..
I rode demon this Sunday and it’s doing as well as ever
I love Revolution, and would be sad to see it go (ride ops on Revolution always felt so jolly and happy!) but with Sky Striker coming in, there really is no point to keeping it
having a Star Flyer would be an awesome replacement
I'm honestly hopeful it's anything but a clone or a dive
I don't think a dive would be the world class addition the park needs
As a filler attraction yea but for a MAJOR Investment I don't think a gimmick ride like a dive would be very fitting
My best guess is that theyll replace the larson loop and add a raptor in its place connecting the dc sections. They dont have reason to remove demon as its not a big coaster and is a historic coaster.
I can definitely see another Wonder Woman themed Raptor happen as the bridging ride.
i guess that means goodbye to Big Easy Balloons lol
Regarding Demon's rumor, it's not going away in the next couple years. I talked to a GAm ride operator at kings island while waiting in line for Banshee, and he said they're waiting on a new lift motor as the one they got in 2021 was having issues with it starting in the morning. It since got moved to Goliath, and that original motor is now a backup for the same ride. Once they get Demon's motor, it will be back up and running like normal. It's been ordered and being built, and I'm expecting it to be put in mid 2024.
I went last Sunday. they just got the motor, and Demon opened!!!
I was devastated to find out that such rides like Demon and American Eagle were in bad shape and had closed down.
Demon just opened today lmao
The Demon was my favorite ride when I was a kid and it's now one of my kids favorite rides. The short line always helps of course.
There were rumors in the 90's that the Eagle was gonna get torn down. 25 years later... And The Eagle hurts, like really bad, to ride now! My phone sent an SOS this past year when I went on it! For what was most likely my last time.
I'd heard that The Demon was getting new head restraint designs. Hopefully that's the reason it's been closed. We saved The Wizzer! Now let's save the other original ride.
Wait what does send an sos mean
@@Procoaster
Basically your phone tries to contact emergency services based on rapid button pushing.
The stone archway within the 2nd loop of Demon has been removed.
Six flags GM needs a ride like maverick at cedar point.
DEMON IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE! This topic has stressing the crap out of me. I emailed the staff team and they said they have no plans of removing Demon and there is nothing about it closing for good.
Cave removal is happening now.

I really hope they keep it open for just one more year. It would give me an opportunity to ride it for the first time before it closes.
i'm with you too. i hadn't been to SFGAm in ages until i visited multiple times this past summer. every single time Demon was closed.
I am super excited about Sky Striker looking forward to riding it next year
it's hilarious b/c i went to Kings Island and Cedar Point this past summer and I remember going on Delirium and Max Air and thinking, man I wish SFGam had one of these
and then the news broke around late August about Sky Striker.
Even if they gave it TLC it's not the front liner or iconic ride for the park anymore
Loch Ness monster is an Iconic still even today for BGW
And Corkscrew is at a park that can afford to spend money on continuous upkeep on a ride that nobody really wants to ride anymore
Demon if it were to be fixed up wouldn't attract that many people and nor does great america make enough money to just throw into upkeep for an old arrow coaster
It's just not a good return on investment to fix it up
Rather than tear it down and build a coaster there
I was at six flags yesterday, and from x-flight’s drop, I could see demon’s trains (or so i assume, as they were on the track) covered with a large white tarp.
It also wouldn’t make sense for SF to add the same layout of the Raptor seen at SFGAv and cloning it to their last of the bigger parks and instead add it to their mid-tier parks since my home park falls into that category.
i really want to try out a RMC Raptor, but I have heard that capacity is a major problem on those for sure
The demon is very rough so if they remove it I hope we get something a little bigger and smoother but I hope we get something with a similar feel
Bro it’s my home park and I’ve never ridden it because it’s never open. Just tear it down already and replace with a good coaster.
I worked at great america this summer and Demon wasn't operating due to issues with the "breaks" and just money and staffing in general. So demon is the most likely option to get headed out.
I contacted the team a message and they said it’s not going anywhere for a while.
@@BrianMoore-h6i I'm aware it was running. I'm not an idiot. I know what goes on with the park as it's my homepark.
@@neilrefusekid wow you took the general information I wanted to share with the public very personal!
I'm hopeful for the future of Great America, prayers for more theming but also for bigger and better rides that aren't just roller coasters, like maybe an original dark ride or something?
I hope la ronde got a big change of the theme park itself
Who remembers rolling thunder. I miss iron wolf
i hope demon doesnt leave, its a part of a dying out model (ive only rode 2) and they can be great!
If they keep it they need to change the restraints or add some padding. A lap bar only Arrow looper would be pretty good. But I don't love how Arrow OTSRs crush my boobs, to put it lightly.
I hope Resolution doesn’t shut down too it’s so much fun and maybe the only time I rode it
@@urbex_coastersagreed! The restraints make rides so uncomfortable sometimes
Been seeing Hangover running during Fright Fest so it would make sense that its getting final rides before closure. Also demon hasnt ran since the middle of june and is about time to replace it
argh i'm kind of annoyed that i missed out on Mardi Gras Hangover but it isn't like Larson Loopers are hard to find these days anyway lol
Nah they’re removing cricle coaster
@@stephhslush05 what is cricle coaster
@@IlikemybreadsquishyProbably talking about Hangover?
Demon needs to go. It's a very sub par old coaster. I love nostalgia, and it definitely served its purpose, but all good things must come to an end. Revolution will go for sure, and I don't mind Mardi Gras Hangover leaving, but as long as they replace those rides with something great it'll be fine. I agree with you, for it's 50th anniversary they need an incredible high tech coaster.
I love your take on my home park ❤️
As much as it is a classic, we need a replacement for American Eagle more than Demon. I think the only reason they keep it is for the nostalgia, but Goliath, Little Dipper and Viper more than fill that wooden coaster slot but in a much better way. I stopped riding American Eagle because the last time I rode it, it was so incredibly rough I got a headache and it takes up a LOT of land. I barely see people get on it. The only reason I think it still stands is because it's the biggest eyecatcher from street level next to the skyview and Raging Bull/Superman from the parking lot.
For me, the old entrance to American Eagle was the big ass tent it had. I remember waiting in it back in 96 for around 2 hours to get on
I just rode it and ripped my ear… Loved it but not going on it again😊
Intamin? Vekoma?
If we they could save the whizzed. They can save demon 😩😩😈🔥
Also we should not have to wait till 2026. SFGAM is a top six flags park. GADV has gotten new coasters consistently.
I agree with you that SFGAm should be a top tier six flags park
but sadly i don't think the CEOs see it that way, which is such a shame.
Demon, aka the concussion coaster. It’s been a favorite of my family for ever. Sad I can’t take my brothers on it though. It never opened since we started going in July. But I see them taking it down

Are you sure you want to completely demolish Corkscrew Coaster 1?
Demon got me headache a lots
How about SHOCKWAVE!! Remember how rough that ride was!
Demon was the first roller coaster I went on that went upside down. I’d actually say it’s a perfect ride for beginners trying to take their next step towards bigger stuff.
I would hate to see it removed.
My neck and back hurt when i get off of demon. That ride is janky
The green ride at the end of the intro was a eruo fighter named, the monster at Adventureland Altoon, IA. Aka my hometown park!
If Demon gets removed, do you think it's possible that the trains or some of the trains could get sent to Magic Mountain for Viper?
Viper at Darien lake might need it even more because I think viper at magic mountain has more than one train and the one at dl doesn’t
Viper has 2 trains, and usually only run one
@@Alimator_210 that’s a good reason for them to give the train to dl, because if magic mountain chooses not to run the second train then why would they give them another one, but Darien lake only has one train
I was just there. Riding the train past Demon, it looks like some of the rock features are being demolished. Sad to see it.
4:01 - Is the SFGA Revolution the same machine as Tomahawk at SFNE ?
I think it's the same model
If they replaced Demon with an RMC Raptor or the rumored T-Rex, I honestly wouldn’t be mad at that. SFGAm is definitely brewing something big for the 50th year.
I think they keep Demon, and do something with the Eagle for 2026. Both rides need serious refurbishment to bring them to their glory days, and nostalgia would tie in nicely with the anniversary
Rode demon back in April. Only coaster I had to sit out for a second ride. Double loops are are fine, just fix those corkscrews..
I hope they don’t get rid of demon. Probably one of the few good arrow coasters that I’ve ridden. That’ll hit hard too.

The airtime in the back row on the first drop is insane
Demon is a classic for sure. But, in my opinion, its a rough, headache inducing ride. I would love to see it replaced with a single rail RMC painted black and themed to the classic demon. Even with the theme song!
I'm surprised no one mentioned how much your head bangs back & forth on Demon when going thru the two corkscrews at the end. It's no longer a smooth ride IMO
Rode the Demon just over a week ago. It closed early but never had a line.
the removal of the rocks around the loops of Demon has started, its future is not looking too good
CGA did the same thing to theirs because they were deteriorating.
@@tigerrocks503chase8 yeah its not good to see it happening on a ride that has been rumored to be on the chopping block for some time now though

For the record i vote on "spawn of demon" for the new name
Amazing video! The demon holds many memories in peoples hearts but I believe it has had its time.
I hope Selim Basoul sells a flat or two to their neighbor in the east, Michigan's Adventure. It would be a win-win and great for the environment as it will be less rides in the landfill.
I can see the following Gadv and Busch Gardens.. restoration over replacement . No one has money for removal and building at the same time
They should do a "son of son" as either a ground up t-rex or a refurbished retrack. They should also do an RMC iron eagle for the 50th
I've never stopped missing Orbit and the Tidal Wave. It would break my heart to lose The Demon too. :(
I was there on 8/12/24 and Demon is open. They need to cut it and the Eagle. On Eagle, going up the hill you could feel the car coming off the track. People will form new relationships with new rides.
Give them a send off and let em go.
