    Good idea, to always put the GONG bag under the foil box, so the carbon doesn't scratch when inflating the board to 20psi. Glad to see that you are now also starting on the downwind journey! :)

      Yes, but I guess it will take me a while to flat water paddle up

      I would love to have the 3XL like you for flat water paddle ups, but I don’t want to buy another Frontwing just for that

    I have the 2023 HIPE Cruzader 7'6" (70 kg). I use it for Winging and working on Paddle Up's and DWSUPF. The Box Handle is a nice new feature in the 2024. I am trying to perfect a paddle technique where I use more of my Core rather then Shoulders and Arms (same philosophy for Freestyle swimming). Once I perfect it I will share it with you. Looking forward to watching your progress.

      Thank you for your comment. I am really happy to have that Box Handle and I am interested in seeing your core technique. At least in the beginning, my shoulder is quite burning :D

    Another jealous making adventure :-) Regarding the position of your mast. In my opinion it does not make a difference in lift if you put it fore or aft. Lift is a combination of speed and angle of attack. It does matter where you would like to keep your feet. Floating straight or maybe a bit more to the aft to avoid nosediving? Then when you get up on the foil you can feel which leg hurts the most after a while. If it is your back foot then you can move your mast more to the front. And the other way around. Good luck with your progress. I know you will succeed. And I think you have the right board size for your weight. You can balance it already quite well.

      thank you for your comment and for your encouragement. I am not sure, if the mast position already makes a difference in paddling, because it shifts the weight of the board and the downward force either more to the front or to the back. But I should test it out to see the difference!

    What mast and foils are you using .
    Strange that the air is coming out , when you remove the connector . I only have inflatable boards of gong . And this only happens to me when I have the wrong connector or I forget to put the nippel up.
    There is one guy on the internet . Forgot his name but he does paddle up and wing up with the inflatable .
    Mine paddle up journey is about to start also .
    I have a Cruz 7,11 , curve 4 xl and a sirus stab 63 cm . I now do wing ups and flying at 6 to 10 knots . Maybe less at an small inland lake

      I was also surprised with the air coming out. Maybe they changed the pump a bit. Because I didn`t struggle with that with the normal Gong Inflatable Board for Wingfoiling.
      I know mrsuperstocked. He used to do dw foiling with a Gong Hipe Cruzader on small bavarian lake, if you mean him.
      I am using the Sirus XXL 156cm with the Sirus XXL 56cm and the HM 72 Mast. I guess the Sirus 4XL would be a bit easier for a flatwater paddle up, but I don`t want to buy another frontwing :D

      I still need to try winging with the Hipe Cruzader, but this spring had quite crazy much rain and almost no thermal wind days...

    It took me a couple of weeks on the cruzader 7.6 with the same front foil but with the 85cm mast but it can be done!

    Viel Spaß beim Erlernen des flat water paddle up! Ich weiß noch, als ich mein Downwind-Board das erste mal paddelte letztes Jahr. Ich dachte: "Wie zur Hölle soll das jemals auf's Foil kommen?!" Aber es geht - mit regelmäßigem Üben und der richtigen Technik. Das 7.0er ist natürlich SEHR sportlich gewählt.

      dankeschön, ja ich hätte viel lieber das 7"6 oder das 7"11 gewählt. Aber das kommt davon, wenn man zu lange wartet 😂

    Hallo, generelle Frage: welchen Frontflügel von Gong würdest du für Pump einsteiger empfehlen?

    • @FoilingPastor
      @FoilingPastor  25 днів тому

      Schwierig zu sagen, da ich damals mit dem X-Over angefangen habe, zum curve, zum Fluid und dann zum Sirus gekommen bin. Ich würde es wahrscheinlich direkt mit dem Sirus probieren. Einfacher ist es aber wahrscheinlich mit einem X-over oder curve anzufangen.

  • @supertramp2883
    @supertramp2883 27 днів тому

    bzw. würde mich neben der Wahl des richtigen Flügels auch interessieren, welches board volumen du für pump foilen empfehlen würdest

    • @FoilingPastor
      @FoilingPastor  25 днів тому

      Hängt noch davon ab, ob du es zum DW oder zum Wingen nutzt. Beim DW sagt man als Anfänger, dein Gewicht plus 30-40 in Litern. Mit dem 7“6 oder 7“11 wäre es sicherlich leichter für mich

    Watching as I haven't been successful on this setup yet, but I am heavy and old.

    • @FoilingPastor
      @FoilingPastor  29 днів тому

      But it`s awesome that you are still trying or that you tried at least. We will see, if I will be successful.

    I have the same foil setup for pumping. Recently I ordered Hipe Cruzader 7.0 for the same goals (light wind winging and intro to flat water foiling) but I'm 85 kg. So it would be interesting to compare how this setup will suit us both since the difference in weight is quite noticeable to say the least

    • @FoilingPastor
      @FoilingPastor  29 днів тому +1

      Yes, that would be quite interesting. I hope it will work out for your as well. But while starting to pump with my legs when I paddle really hard, I have to be careful, not to dive my nose into the water. So I guess that might be a bit more challenging for you. I guess that`s why they made the first Cruzader with so much volume in the nose that it almost looked bulky.

    • @maksymskoryk3784
      @maksymskoryk3784 29 днів тому

      @@FoilingPastor I noticed that you put the foil all the way forward in the foil tracks. Could this be a reason for nosediving? Have you tried moving it back a few cms?

    • @FoilingPastor
      @FoilingPastor  29 днів тому

      @@maksymskoryk3784 that`s a good observation. I thought that to put it very wide forward would give me more lift. I didn`t think it would affect the nose, but maybe you are right
