  • In mid-October of 2022, 15-year-old Maya Laing of Santa Cruz, California took to Instagram to share her story and to ask for help. One of the individuals she reached out to and tagged in her videos was Tina Swithin, of One Mom’s Battle who has been a vocal advocate against the cottage industry of "alienation professionals" and, practices of reunification camps which are strikingly similar to the highly controversial wilderness camps, conversion therapy camps and the troubled teen industry.
In this compilation, you will see Maya bravely speaking out days prior to being court ordered (by Judge Rebecca Connolly) into a reunification camp owned by Lynn Steinberg.
On November 17 at 8:30 AM, we are gathering to protest at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles, California. We will raise awareness of the shortcomings and failures of the Family Court system and, demand #JusticeForMayaAndSebastian. For more information or to RSVP, please email LosAngelesFCAM@gmail.com.
It is important for us to educate ourselves on the history of the "alienation movement" but also on the present day crisis (reunification camp industry).
