    General Dox may have more or less succeeded in her mission to prune the branches en masse, but it only delays the inevitable. It doesn't prevent new branches appearing--the Kangs are still on their way.

    actor who played Brad did soo great this episode. completely different from the guard he played last week. Love that Loki using his magic and powers more this season. Key Huy Quan is always great. I always remember him fondly as Short Round in Temple of Doom, but he's actin more like Data from Goonies as O.B. He was soo good in Everything, Everywhere All at Once.
    agree with you somewhat with marvel fatigue, but it's not that they releasing so much good stuff ppl are bored. they released some stuff that wasn't that well written (Secret Invasion). So less about quantity, more an issue with quality.

    Macdonald fried apple pie. Macdonald switch from frying their apple pies to baking them in 1992. So I guess a time traveller would want to try the original Macdonald Apple Pie. Fried, not baked.

    McDonald's used to have a fried apple pie (would have been the one served in 1982), the filling of which was as hot as the surface temperature of the planet Mercury, but they discontinued it for a time. They brought it back, but now very few stores sell it. The staple seems to be the baked apple pie which is sold in most (if not all) McDonald's locations.

    For me, the root of the idea of "Marvel fatigue" is actually just "bad writing fatigue". The Disney takeover of Marvel only exacerbated the issue, where Disney views their IP & characters as commodities to throw money at so they can sell toys & merch, failing to realize what makes their shows & movies successful. Regardless of the size of the franchise, people naturally become averse to anything formulaic- we've seen it time & time again with popular TV shows. It's a fine line for writers to walk when they are both being pushed to adhere to what makes their series successful & continue to subvert audiences' expectations & stay fresh (it's no wonder they went on strike).

    1. i wonder if we get more reaction videos to Janis Joplin in the next time. I really almost forgot how good she was. Haven't heared much of her in the last 40 jears.
    2. I have no real problem with tha MC Ad, maybe because it was sooo obvious that its more like just a part of the pop culture, and since Disney needs to safe money .. i'm fine with the way they did that.

    I know a lot of viewers will say “Why is it such a big deal, we never met or even saw any of those universes”. But if you’ve seen either of the Spiderverse movies or even Everything, Everywhere, All At Once then you would know that their lives matter just as much as the characters in our universe. Think of it like if Miles Morales or Spider-Gwen were just erased. Or even Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men were just erased!!! So yeah, this is a very heavy loss, even worse than the Blip.
    Also Tom Hiddleston in that tuxedo just makes me imagine another universe where Tom became the new James Bond. And god is it great to see Loki be who and what he truly is, not a hero, not a villain, but the freaking GOD OF MISCHIEF!!!!!

      I love how everyone keeps forgetting about that small little word “incursion”. incursions in marvel comics are irreversible. The only way you stop them is by destroying the other world/timeline you’re on a collision course with. Pruning seems bad until they find out that more people will die if they let timelines branch uncontrollably. seems more and more apparent that he who remains was not lying about anything that he said. “heroes” make everything worse before they “fix” them in the MCU. We're going to see a lot of people die in this saga.
      Also, the more branches, the more Kang variants. there will be no easy answer when it’s all said and done.

    • @thedarkknight2221
      @thedarkknight2221 9 місяців тому

      @@tolliSTFU first off, Incursions only occur when the walls between universes have been weakened by man made interference. Second, you can’t keep trying to control nature or even life itself because as a very wise man once said “Life cannot be contained, life breaks free, life finds a way”. It was proved when He Who Remains failed to foresee what would happen next when the timeline started to branch uncontrollably on its own.

  • @nullunit
    @nullunit 9 місяців тому

    The fanboy apologistic need to retcon is my least favorite development in the modern fandoms. Sometimes it doesn't make sense because it is just poorly planned.
    The success of the first 3 phases of the MCU is largely a fluke that started with Ironman and they were able to patch together a passable continuity out of that but as Kat and Sonny pointed out there are a lot of mediocre entries in there that the more zealous fanboys tend to gloss over because something later comes that makes them okay with it.
    Phase 4 has been very uneven almost like they didn't have a real plan or central hero and protagonist to anchor it. Not unwatchable but not as coherent as the phase 2 - phase 3 transition where they figured out where they had some real high points.
    What I like about What If...? and Loki in particular is that they are playing somewhat outside the "rules". When the threads in the shows and recent films are folded together it really doesn't track well but I just write it off as bad planning and enjoy it on its own terms.
    Star Wars is similarly afflicted and I just choose to think of them as discreet pieces of art that I can take or leave like a buffet. I have felt like that since the Prequels. I can harp on and dissect them to find every flaw or just shrug and take away the parts I enjoy. I prefer the easier approach of just enjoying seeing people try to make new stories in these universes and be stoked with bright points like Andor or Loki that align more with what I want from these things as middle aged nerd.
