Duuuude, my favorite build as well, with some rainbow facets for an extra nova when i died so i could basically never lose a PvP matchup, only ties haha
My latest character on ladder is also a necro whom I wanted to use poison dagger with and use Blackbog's Sharp with, but then I have been given Death's Web and heard about Fleshripper which I managed to get. Quick gear rundown: * Shako socketed with a perfect on lvl up poison RBF; * Mara 23; * Bramble, lvl 16 Thorns (boo :/), 39% extra poison damage; * Arachnid Mesh or upg Goldwrap, depends; * Ravenfrost, and a rare ring proving resistances; * Torch, Annihilus, one skiller per tree; * War Travelers; * Trang gloves; * Weapon slots, and this is where it gets fun: slot 1 is Death's Web + Homonculus, slot 2 is Fleshripper socketed with a Shael and another homonculus. Merc is an act 2 might merc equipped with Vampire Gaze, eth Obedience just like yours, and eth upgraded Duriel's. As to skills, I have put a couple of points into... Clay Golem, maxed out poison skills, a few points in CE (not needed to max it!), 2 in amp damage, one in LR, all prereqs including decrepity and one into Dim Vision. One big advantage of Death's Web is its -% to enemy poison resistance, since it applies only AFTER immunity is broken if it can; as a result, a quick LR + Poison Nova gets rid of most _poison immune_ enemies in one nova! For really poison immune enemies I switch to Fleshripper and still use Poison Dagger since its bonus to AR is huge (I have more than 11k AR). I cast AD (which works wonders with Thorns from Bramble) and stab, stab, stab, so do my merc, golem and revives... As a result all bosses die a very, very quick death, the amount of damage they inflict to themselves being very far from insignificant! I even have a solution for posessed monsters which have both physical and poison immunity since Obedience casts Enchant at a pretty decent rate, and fire damage eventually whittle them down ;)

this is the first character i completed the game with on ssf hardcore. For bosses i just revived some cushing blow guys and do some gear swap so i can use poison dagger with crushing blow myself ... my merc had a hone sundan . Decrepify + stone golem = GG .

I’m enjoying your videos! Keep it up. I still like this game after 20 years! Have you considered an Eternity for your merc instead? It has less Crushing Blow but it adds Slows Target which is great against act bosses (especially Baal) and Ubers. It adds Life Steal, too. Also, while Fortitude is great for straight damage if boss running then Duress might be a good choice as it adds more Crushing Blow and also has Open Wounds. Two little things: -Guillaume is pronounced “ghee” (the clarified butter product) + “yawm” (like “yawn” but with an m instead of an n). -Although I didn’t see it happen here, revived harpies can cast their curses which will overwrite your own. They also tend to fly around a lot doing nothing. So they are bad choices for revives.

@delosombres Good points except for the note regarding HBT which doesn't work on bosses or champions and getting a curse overwritten on one normal monster in a pack doesn't really matter.
Nice tips. Few adjustments besides the gg dweb ofc. Three piece trangs, gotta get that -25% poison res from the wing, and you also get 3* 40% res. Then you should use COH for merc armor to get life leech. Dim vision for souls and dolls. Amp dmg the side of the screen nearest the soul or doll your merc attacks to keep the others dim visioned, wait till the one enemy is down before amping and ce room clear. Instead of obedience, once you’re gg get infinity which also has 40% cb, but magnifies your ce dmg when facing cows.
This video might make me get back into D2.. I had a level 49 poison Necro back in the day with a full inventory of grand charms. Worked very well for pvp and threw people for a loop. Good video

I really like your videos but its clear that your build guides are cheap for jsp, not cheap in general. I really liked your early ladder builds video and I was hoping on a deeper dive of that necro setup. I have decided to play legit this ladder and even after almost two weeks of moderate play with a level 88 assasin and 87 sorc, I dont even have a cta rolled. I found an ohm rune out of a chest. Nowhere near getting an anni, and have not been farming for torches. I would appreciate more content geared towards legit play. You have a lot of knowledge on budget gear. It would be nice to do a finished build that doesnt require Runes above Ist or Gul.
i just feel like the Necro is a lie-- its like "Summoner Necro.... use corpse explosion", "Poison Necro... use corpse explosion" --- EVERY build uses corpse explosion! they are all just Corpse explosion variants.
60psn nova and synergies, 20 corpse, 20 bone armor rest in clay golem. there r no more points left for summons since its really hard to max 5 skills.From the 1.13 meta psn necro build is nova ce and clay golem with dagger for bosses

I'm interested in a PvM character that is not a sorceress, and so I'm curious whether you think this build could do well with cheap runewords and some basic gear.

We have so many skill pts left over, we can literally put them anywhere. Fire golem finishes players when they're at 1 life (Holt Fire Aura), plus again we just have more skills left over than we know what to do with. A lot of room for customization. Infinity is fine! I just went with Obedience for higher CB, which is all we really care about from our merc. When he needs to come into the picture, CE isn't shit in those situations. And, man, you couldn't have had better timing! I'm about to upload a PvP version of this very character! Let me know what you think!
@Zack sinclair fcr only matters for teleporting, corpse explosion, and cursing. But overall not heavily required I always went for I think second highest or third highest fcr break point. A lot of the gear you have to sacrifice some fcr for to be more effective
White wand does NOT do the same amount of damage as deaths web. It's not even close. Death's web can do +4skills to poison nova PLUS up to 50% more poison damage. Deaths web definitely best in slot for poison necro.
How would a hybrid build work with this? Drop the Corpse Explosion, go Bone and Poison. For a wand use white with a +Nova/Spear modifier, and put remaining synergy into spear for boss fights after your nova is maxed. As long as your spear hits anywhere from 3-4k, you should have a decent time clearing out mobs.
haven't played diablo2 in many years. I'm wondering how every character can use battle orders, teleport, etc now? Is that from an item, or balance patch, or what?
Personally I really miss those days. Loved having Cow levels with Amazons using Buriza, Barbs whirlwinding with The Godfather or Immortal King set, and Nova Sorcs teleporting around to Static groups and spam Nova. Those were some of the most enjoyable days I played on battlenet. Once the runewords like Enigma came out PvM became heavily focused around Hammerdins and Nado Druids.

100%! Very under-rated there, as well. We're working on sort of a "Necro Series" right now, and pvp version of this is def in my sights. For PvP, do you prefer Hoto or DWeb?
I like when they start with the build , the gear breakdown is irrelevant 99% of the time , most viewers dont have the same gear , BUT the skills shoukd be explaibed and alternate skill point options etc.
it wasnt underated just underpeforming compared to the others. cold sorc could do everything necro could do but was working without almost any items and was faster too. Corpse explosion is really good though one of the better skills in vanilla lod.
yeah no inventory, just a torch, ani, 1 skiller charm, runewords and some unique items that will take a while to farm in singleplayer, sure no inventory
Try my necro build you won't regret it . 20 into skeleton 20 into skele mastery 20 into skele mage 1 into amplify and 1 into lower res 1 into revive 20 into corpse explosion Gear : Helm :shako (um) Ammy: rare or crafter 2skills or maras Shield : homonculus(eld) or (um) Armor: enigma Wep: beast double axe Gloves : your choice of fcr Rings : sojs or bks Belt: arack Boot: res boots or marrowalks Inventory: torch ' anni and summon skillets Merc : Might merc : Wep: Infinity Armor : fort Helm : Andys (ral) or (15 ias /fire res ) Iron golem : make a pride out of it . Skeles 1shot anything: corpse explosion 1shots the rest . Use amp or lower res to break immunes . This can even ubrs And in players 8 can kill all bosses in seconds (Mages with lower res , and conviction do respectable dmg to those double physical resist rare mobs )

So u use obediance mainly for that crushing blow which gets u to 75 on that act2 merc but!!!! You could do an act 5 merc with either lw pb or go with an eth lw col. Blade and the same guills and fort... ur act 5 merc will own baal easier... first off even lowest roll cb ull have 85% crushing blow if u get a better roll ud have 100%.... now i will say id persobally prefer a 4 socket armor with 4x ias jewels and then ias jewel in guills this way u have 75ias and attack faster
Beast is best in slot for CE heavy necro. Sadly psn nova is only helpful to get first kill but not really needed. With a crazy geared merc and beast in nec hand you really only need 20 points in CE and 1 in amp dmg. Amp dmg is best curse too because CE is 50/50 fire physical. So amp dmg boosts merc and CE. Infinity also boosts the fire part of CE and sadly does not lower psn res.
its disgusting to watch builds where one has all the perfect items and 18+ extra skills. who at this point would ever watch a build guide? if you wana show builds, show them off with basic items or cheap&easy to get uniques etc. enigma shouldnt ever be mentioned in a single video about builds ever. but everyone wears it.

just use infinity for 40% CB and conviction lowers fire res for CE to do more dmg :)

Death Web is better for sure, but in the baal run the cast rate makes more sense. I would still use deathweb though

Bone armor is pretty good if you want to use those extra points for something.
By putting points into Bone Wall or Bone Prison, you actually get more damaged absorbed than putting them into Armor itself.

Made a poison necro this ladder. I was scared due to all the thing I heard. Now I laugh at fools who don’t play this sensational character.

You are correct. Infinity is ideal but its also very pricy.. then again cost isnt an issue for cooley
My problem with PN is corpse explosion exists and makes PN irrelevant basically. Bone spear corpse just seems better to me.
Cools, what do you think about poison/summon hybrid doing ubers 👀 can you give it a try? This will be the ultimate build of you can do that
I think it's easier to go Poison + more skeleton/mastery + Pride to get that anti-boss damage, it's not much weaker than full summoner
“Basic” + skills charms are also must have, you could do 16k nova instead 7k. Way faster clearing areas.

We actually did this! Put together a hybrid poison/bone necro in pvp. Thing was amazing

From Runewords! Some of them give you +to Skills from classes that aren't your own. (See "Enigma", and "Call to Arms")

Zero effects, unfortunately. Only your Auras, Skill levels, and Buffs affect them.

Clay Golem's probably better for PvM, for sure. I do use DWeb in the pvp version of this!

Absolutely. CE is just as effective, psn will take a little longer, but together they'll get the job done pretty efficiently
I like when they start with the build , the gear breakdown is irrelevant 99% of the time , most viewers dont have the same gear , BUT the skills shoukd be explaibed and alternate skill point options etc.

I love the build hate that it's cookie cutter would have loved to have seen a necro shield or 3 piece trangs. Or even a random white.
You don't need a golem with this build, you don't even really need your mercenary.
I figured thats p1? That build needs more dedication if one intends tô farm p7-p8. It wouldnt work in a full game like that.
Uhh? Its my most played barely beating my paladin... his kill speed is just too godly.
it wasnt underated just underpeforming compared to the others. cold sorc could do everything necro could do but was working without almost any items and was faster too. Corpse explosion is really good though one of the better skills in vanilla lod.

yeah no inventory, just a torch, ani, 1 skiller charm, runewords and some unique items that will take a while to farm in singleplayer, sure no inventory

Helm : Andys (ral) or (15 ias /fire res )
Iron golem : make a pride out of it .
Skeles 1shot anything: corpse explosion 1shots the rest .
Use amp or lower res to break immunes .
This can even ubrs
And in players 8 can kill all bosses in seconds
(Mages with lower res , and conviction do respectable dmg to those double physical resist rare mobs )

@@ismaelhidalgo3131 both the infinity and amplify dmg and lower res all stack with Ce. The rest is to give lots of bods to give tons of things to explode :D
So u use obediance mainly for that crushing blow which gets u to 75 on that act2 merc but!!!! You could do an act 5 merc with either lw pb or go with an eth lw col. Blade and the same guills and fort... ur act 5 merc will own baal easier... first off even lowest roll cb ull have 85% crushing blow if u get a better roll ud have 100%.... now i will say id persobally prefer a 4 socket armor with 4x ias jewels and then ias jewel in guills this way u have 75ias and attack faster
Is HOTO better than Death web? Or is it because of reaching breakpoints?
It's just for hitting breakpoints in the PvM build. Death's Web is sort of "overkill" in the pvm version

Beast is best in slot for CE heavy necro. Sadly psn nova is only helpful to get first kill but not really needed. With a crazy geared merc and beast in nec hand you really only need 20 points in CE and 1 in amp dmg. Amp dmg is best curse too because CE is 50/50 fire physical. So amp dmg boosts merc and CE. Infinity also boosts the fire part of CE and sadly does not lower psn res.
I keep hearing "cast rate" as "castrate"... really irritating...

if you wana show builds, show them off with basic items or cheap&easy to get uniques etc. enigma shouldnt ever be mentioned in a single video about builds ever. but everyone wears it.
