The mid engine C8 will be a game changer...........Those that are in the market for a Porsche 911 or a mid engine Ferrari and Lamborghini will now seriously consider a Vette. The power, quality and speed is there, now the handling will be there too......Long Live the Vette !
I hope the mid engine helps with the ass end coming loose on Vettes If they're are truly serious about competing with Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini they better make it all wheel drive with beyond ZR1 power.
GM is going to have to step up their game on the C8 Corvette because the C7 Corvette is one phenomenal looking car no matter what model you have the C7 corvettes are Beautiful cars
Being a Corvette owner (2011 Jetstream Blue Grand Sport), I’ve learned that GM always gets it right with the Corvette; no matter what generation, when a Corvette is on the road, America’s Sports Car, receives the attention it has earned; may you all have a Blessed day; Corvettes # 1 !
Hi Chuck. I am a disabled Vietnam Vet from Agent Orange. I watch your videos because I love Corvettes. I have wanted one since I was 15 years old and I'm 69 now. It is kind of doubtful I will ever be able to afford my dream car, a Corvette (C7) Z06 or GS with a Torch Red body, black interior, black conv top or glass top on a coupe. I watch your channel because I love your cars. I loved your black Z06 but I like your ZR1 too. Anyway, keep up the good work. Have a blessed day.
Great comments Chuck. I agree with everything you said. They did a great job with the camouflage I believe when they reveal it it will look very much like a Vette Very much like a manta Ray lol
It’s good to see you back full at full strength Keeping us up on everything new about Corvette Thanks big bro Once again you’ve knocked it out the park I was wondering what happened You kept us up with the ZR1but not with the C-8 You had me worried You know you’re the number 1 man on UA-cam Thanks a lot for all the great content and it’s good to have you keeping us informed on everything new about Corvette again
Hy Chuck really enjoyed this vlog it remined me when u started talking about the ZR1.I know we r going too gt some good content about the C8 from u and Rick until they debut. Love that Grand Sport dont sell it.
Hey Chuckles!!! I started out with the C4 and eventually moved on to a C6. These 2 generations have always been my favorite Vettes. The C8 is definitely going to be a game changer for the Chevy icon. I just hope Chevy doesn't totally abandoned the front engine heritage that made the Corvette the greatest American sports car ever. Love the video & great job as always my friend!👍👍😎🏁🇺🇸
I see it very clearly in my opinion. Who is real Vettes lover it is no matter for him how will looks like in the future. Was the Vette / is the Vette and will be the Vette... I love american cars at all. Many greetings from 🇸🇰
I have to say that footage of the C8 at the Nürburgring is impressive the way it corners and it doesn't get unsettled as it hits the braking points for the corner. Your assessment at this juncture is sensible.
Exactly why I just bought a new C7....great price, great driving experience,...and like you say “Let em work the bugs out on the first years of the C8 and then jump in.
AWD and dual clutch in the C8 Z06, now you're speaking my language. I totally agree with you about waiting a couple of years and holding out for the Z06. The C8 could make me go back to American made for my next sports car. Just bought a Colorado ZR2 a month ago and so far I really love it. The technology and infotainment system is pretty awesome, especially with the Bose sound system and the suspension in that thing is just amazing. GM has made some incredible improvements in the past few years. Can't wait to see what happens!
Hey chuck great video. I like that new c8 body style. I can have a European look and the performance without the European price. I'm like you. 2022 the c8 vette is coming to the house.👊👊 take care.
Chuck, I’m with you. As soon as the C8 comes out and we actually see the car without all of the camo, a majority of folks will get on board. Love the C7, but in the end Chevrolet needs to lean forward and look to the future with new technologies and out of the box ideas or they’ll be left in the dust of their competitors!! Great Vlog, STAY 918 (💯) 👍👍👍 mike r. in NC
Chuck very much enjoy your channel and really appreciate the shout out for Realtors. I'm a realtor in central Ohio. You're so right, a closing can't happen unless all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed. It's my job to make sure the paper work is completed correctly. Keep up the good work!
Well...I’m a purist regarding exterior design when it comes to #CORVETTE not necessarily with the mid-engine; I’m ok with that. I’ve been a fan of the long snout. The car looks Euro. But this vlog has made me more open. At the end of the day, I’m brand loyal. Thanks Chuck. Really good vlog! ~Barrington
I love hearing that a twin turbo is coming lol, i remember when the 1990 ZR-1 came out and people hated the over head cams, they still do. But now a twin turbo wow, chevy has came a long way.
Hi Chuck. That was probably my favourite video of yours - packed full of info. You're a born presenter. I live in Australia where we can't buy a Corvette, but I'm heading to LA in October and I'm renting a C7 Stingray from Turo for 4 days to drive up the Pacific Coast Highway and back. Can't wait. Only problem is, it's bright yellow - not my favourite colour. God bless Chuck and keep the great content coming!
Chuck, commenting to inform you that I have officially passed my NAPLEX exam. I am a licensed pharmacist! Next up is the law exam! I will keep you posted on that as well coach! Great video as always! - Mike
Nice... and I think you are right about that. I think people like myself are going to wait to see. Then get their first Corvette. And later get a C8. I mean, I would. Cool video!! Always! Good information!!🤔🤔👍👍👍👍
Can’t wait for the c8 to drop. Looks like a Ferrari but not Ferrari price that’s why I love vettes. I hope the interior is bigger tho. Btw good informative vid chuck👍
Great video, Chuck. I agree with your assessment on the future of the C7 and C8. I'm still a big C7 fan but the C8 has piqued my curiosity! It's gonna take some time for the new lines to grow on me.......
Plan to move on my Stingray for the C8 - mid engine way to go........i can say this as I have other C7's at the home so I look forward to drive both. No lost proposition. thanks for the video and look forward to the amount. God bless!
Hey Chuck, great video. Later this month I'll be taking delivery of a C7 7 speed, 3LZ, Z06. Ordered to my spec. Am I late for the C7 party? Yes. But I also got it because I finally have the means to do so. I dont know where I'll be in a few years, if I chose to wait. The leftover inventory are getting awesome deals, but I just couldn't find one that was to how I wanted it. With C8, I'm in the same boat as you. I dont want a base C8/Z51. I want a C8 Z06. I'll wait until the 2nd or 3rd year C8 Z06 production model comes out. By then, dealers should have no problem on allocation, no price mark ups, more trim features could be available and hopefully the bugs are fixed based on the early C8 adopters. So I still have plenty of years to enjoy my C7 before I jump on C8 Z06. And that's if a manual version is offered, which from what i read, probably not. Keep up the great content 👍
I agree with you about waiting a few production years on the C8 to let GM sort out bugs, that is just good practice no matter what brand of car, Never buy new 1st year revamp of anything, As always thumbs up looking forward to pt2 !
I'm thinking the front engines will hold their value even after the mid engine comes out. Supply and demand, if there are no more front engine vettes being made and that's what one wants and no more are being made that may drive the price up in the future.
When I saw your wife’s GS and the title I laughed and cried briefly. My #416 was in the shop some noise so bad in the bell housing like metal on metal bad brakes noise. JON H. Chevrolet Daytona had to make GM BUY Back they switched me over to a Z06 triple black convertible. LESS cost. Thanks GM
Good points on selling your car, I talk about that all the time; safety and ease of really selling it is a great value. On this video, YOU HAD ME LAUGHING....so silly. Great topic video, I am doing one on same topic this week with a few twists ;) I agree, we are headed into a whole new era for Corvette, faster than people realize
Always a pleasure, Chuck. Be it a C7 or C8, I appreciate your input. I’ll be hanging on to my C7 and enjoying every mile I drive. Let the bugs work themselves out of the new C8 mid engines, and we’ll see in a few years.
Another Great Video Chuck. I just bought my first zo6. I'm not in any rush to get a c8 but I can't wait to see if they can keep the price down and have the stats you mentioned.
Glad to hear your new found optimism on the C8 Chuck 👍🏻 I agree with your points as well. People thought I was a crazy conspiracy theorist when talking about these topics a few months ago lol. I think everyone is finally agreeing that it IS a Corvette and it WILL be here soon! There's also no doubt in my mind that the first offering will be affordable. They're still running small steel rotors on the test mules out at the Nürburgring. Not gonna happen on a 100k+ car from GM.
Thanks great video. A little understeer on that c8 but mid engine cars tend to demonstrate that tendency. I'm with you 3+ years for GM to work out the bugs cooling, suspension, engine (if it's turbocharged) and most of all software.
Hey Chuck... Always enjoy your videos! Even though I don't have a Corvette (I've got a Camaro) it's still an Awesome UA-cam Channel! I'm down in the 405 & just wanna say... Boomer! Lol
I hope I do really like the C8, from what I can see so far I’m not digging the design. On the other hand, I’m 100% into my 2019 Z06 3LZ. I’m going to have that car for many years. One thing I wouldn’t do is buy a C8 the first year it’s out, you’re just asking for trouble, lol For Gods sake, just wait it out if that’s your plans. :)
This was an awesome video, Chuck. I think I'm as ready as ever to finally see a revealed C8. Can't wait to see a little more price drop on the C7 grand sport and Z06.. even though I know it won't be dramatic, it's a lesser price to throw more money at. I think we are about in the same ballpark as far as appraisal, I guessed around 65k-66k..... FYI I went to the Caffeine and Octane here in Atlanta and FINALLY saw the ZR1 in person and had a great conversation with the owner of the Carbon 65 Z06 and he told me about his ordering experience... Pics for days Chuck... As always awesome content.
Great information Chuck, it's not that GM is trying to keep up with the competition it's the other way around, I truly believe the competition is trying to keep up with GM. Completely new body design, less weight, new, even more powerful technological motors. And your right about one thing, these new Corvettes could break some track records.
A few things I learned from the C8 video I just watched. I think its a twin turbo (quiet), duel clutch (listen to the shift) and did you hear him break the splitter? The car bottomed out and I heard the front hit the road...It will be a cool car for sure. The stingray will have Z06 type track and acceleration numbers and the C8 Z06 will have super car type numbers......my opinion of course...I have no real knowledge.
It could be a dual clutch...but it might also be a torque converter auto. The newest versions of the ZF 8-speeds are absolutely incredible...fast shifts, they can handle a lot of power, etc. The new M5 has one of those I think. The line between the best TC autos and DCs is getting thin.
I was about to buy a C7 GS Corvette but as soon as I saw the spy photos of the new C8 I immediately changed to looking at a C6. I had 3 C7 that I was going to look at but now I am the owner of a C6 Vette. I am saving my cash to buy the C8, I know the C6 won't take as big of a hit and I got my C6 for a great deal. The C8 is JAW DROPPING and I love it!!
Yeah -- I really want to see manuals live on -- a true drivers car, but with all the real performance benefits too. So what if a manual will be a little slower, so long as the car is still legitimately fast. It doesn't bode well that the testers at the ring all have what I presume to be the new A10...
Chuck, hello from Thailand. Appreciate the video and your opinion on the end of the C7 and the arrival of the C8 as it will come to fruition next year. That being said, I too will enjoy my new ZO6 to the fullest arriving next mont. GM will need to work out the "bugs" on the C8 1st generation and over the next several years then consider the options. Ever in the Phoenix area (and don't forget to bring your golf clubs), look forward to our paths crossing. Blue skies, Jg
Chuck, I love what you said about driving your car. Too often, especially those within the Corvette community, people don’t drive their cars. What’s the point in spending all that money to drive it a handful of times and then sell it? I think this mentality is the main culprit in the stereotype of “old Corvette owners”. I know even with my Challenger, I try to cherish every opportunity I get to drive it during the season (up here in Rochester, NY we get some pretty cold winters). The other thing I liked about what you said is how the C6 owners complained about the new C7 and then went on to buy one a few years later anyways. Change is always tough to embrace for a lot of people, so I get that. However, like the revolutionary changes with the C7, I think GM is smart to completely change the Corvette into a modern exotic sports car with the C8 generation. “Old” people aren’t getting any younger and the brand does have to survive and maintain its heritage. Attracting the younger audience is the key to the continuation of the Corvette. I know growing up as a kid, the C5 in the early 2000’s and the C6 in the mid to later 2000’s were the big models at the time. As I finished high school, the C7 had just come out (I graduated 2015) and I was just wowed by it. I work part-time for a local car wash business and the first time I saw a C7 in person was this guy’s Laguna Blue Z06... I was just in awe. Only reason I got the Challenger is because I love that car just as equally and to be honest, it’s a lot more affordable over a Z06. However, I will never forget that first time I saw it and falling in love with Corvette since then. It’s nice to know I have another dream car to work towards someday 😌 I’m a true believer in hard work and persistence, so I know that if I could have saved up to buy the Challenger, I can do the same for a Corvette too. I don’t mean to make this comment so long, but I thought I’d share a little perspective from someone of the younger audience. Thanks for including our rides at the end and keep up with the great content 👍
One of my friends sent me a note this morning saying he read in a Corvette forum that the plant where the C7 is being produced will shut down in December for 3 months and will retool for the C8.
Great information as usual. I'm seeing that the convertible Z06 seems to be holding about a $10K difference on the coupe. I do agree with you that when the C8 comes out it will drop the price quite a bit on the other Corvettes.
I’ll take the 2019. I’m 53 years old and I like the engine in the front. Better breaking for because street racing is very unpredictable. I own a C4 1996. Best of its model. By far the best street race car I’ve ever had
When the C7 Stingray and Z06 first hit the 'Ring for testing you could hear them roaring around the track. The C8 sounded more like a Cadillac so if that's the exhaust note on the production car it's pretty underwhelming for a 'Vette IMHO. As for the looks I'll reserve final judgment until the wrap comes off, but from what I can see that rear end sure does seem to be kinda plain in it's overall shape and from the doors back it looks a lot more old school NSX than I would like. Time will tell.
Starting to look more like the competition (square with flat sides) rather than that long 'coke bottle' shape like the C7s and C3s. One of the things I really like about the C7 is the similarity (homage) to the C3.
Finally Zora's vision has come to light, a rear engine Corvette how cool is that, I fully understand the reasoning behind mounting the engine in the rear finally the guys at the boardroom level get it and I've noticed people who are bad-mouthing the C8 are probably going to be the first ones to buy one although they claimed they never will, 😎
I’m wondering what you think clutch changes and other maintenance cost will be like on the C8. I’m not sure I’ll get one if they are going to be overly expensive like the lambos, Ferrari’s and R8s.
A friend of mine that works at the tech center in Michigan said that they're going to continue to build the C7 along with the C8 and if it sells well they're going to continue to build it until it doesn't they're also alluding to that the small V8 in the Corvette is going to be gone notice on the test mule Germany there's no huge exhaust pipe to hide the sound of the car like there was on a ZR1 great video as usual chalk
As much as I like the C8, I really wish they'd keep the C7 going as the "Corvette" and maybe make later incarnations of the C8 as a separate high performance car from Chevy. What's nice about the C7 is that it still has some of the practicality of a large trunk that you would want out of a weekend car. That makes it an easier "sell" on a spouse who may not be quite sold on it.
Chuck, when the C8 naysayers see how fast the C8 Z06 with its electric powered front plus V8 rear wheels gets off the line, they will be stunned speechless! In the meantime, I’m totally enjoying my new ‘19 GS, and like you said, no regrets, just drive.
ok iam sorry if I am going to offend a lot of my fellow Corvette lovers......but it doesn't say "Corvette" to me this should be a different class by it self and it should have a different name all together
I agree. My opinion is the car they are showing looks like poop! I've owned 3, a 1982, a 1995 convertible, and a 2007 coupe. The car may perform great but if it doesn't look good it won't be fun to drive for very long.
Great video, Chuck! I’m in Canada and the dealers here have not started discounting new inventory to the extent that you or Rick Conti have described. I’m HOPING that the announcement of the details of the C8 will cause a steep decline in C7 prices. I’ll be looking to buy new, or a slightly used C7 for a great deal from that guy that has to have the C8.
Whats up chuck. I want the c8. I will take the 1st batch depending on specs amd pricing. I will be either selling or taking my c6 to carmax at sum point. Great video
Chuck, thanks for all the great work and thought that goes into your videos. I actually like the idea of an mid-engine C8 and I think it will be a welcome part of Corvette history. Just a thought, if they no longer make a front engine Corvette, wouldn’t the price of old ones go up eventually? If not, it’s ok, I still enjoy owning a wonderful car! BTW, don’t go to Carmax, they will low ball you even on a collector edition. It’s just another unit to them.
Yes Chuck I agree but I have the zl1 1le 2019 on order I guess I'll keep my zo6 2017 Well na Glen greyfor good. So with the two of my favorite cars.thank you my friend for the info.love yo meet you one day sir peace out.
Chuck awesome awesome content and you know to compare the European statement Vette has always had similar looks to the Ferrari!!! Thanks Chuck as always for the great content cant wait for the VLOG with Rick
After the C7 goes out of production, if there is still a strong preference by some individuals for a front-engine design, the value of secondhand C7s might actually hold up quite well. We shall see...
Regarding price, I agree GM isn’t going to go bonkers. I think the C8 will have a starting MSRP right at or a tick over/under the current Camaro ZL1 price. My reasoning is that ZL1s have Stingray performance already; the C8 will have a bit more even in base form and be GM’s halo car. This, of course, is based on zero evidence and is purely my opinion as a long-time ‘Vette owner and fan.
Prices will not increase incredibly unless GM is looking for a whole new market. The C8 Z06 (performance level of C7Z06 if they dont call it Z06) Has to, HAs to, HAS TO be kept between 85-125k again to keep current customers. Now, ZR1 can go to 175k+ because anyone who dropped 150k on the c7 ZR1 prob can buy at 175+ as well.
Chuck-The corvette community misses you and all the great content that you delivered.
The mid engine C8 will be a game changer...........Those that are in the market for a Porsche 911 or a mid engine Ferrari and Lamborghini will now seriously consider a Vette. The power, quality and speed is there, now the handling will be there too......Long Live the Vette !
Youre right smart move by GM and Camaro plays the c7 role now as its a sportscar
I hope the mid engine helps with the ass end coming loose on Vettes If they're are truly serious about competing with Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini they better make it all wheel drive with beyond ZR1 power.
The handling is already there.
About as much as I would pay if it's on par with the super cars is about $160K any more than you might as well get something else.
Not on par with a 911 Turbo S it's not, You turn off your traction control stuff even on a Z51 and you're going to get killed.
GM is going to have to step up their game on the C8 Corvette because the C7 Corvette is one phenomenal looking car no matter what model you have the C7 corvettes are Beautiful cars
I agree, the C7 are some big shoes to fill but I think in a few years the C8 will be dialed in. 👍🏻👊🏻
Thank you, Chuck! Always informative & ALWAYS AWESOME!

The more I look at the Blue Seats I really like them. They look amazing in this Video. Great Job Chuck
Great comments Chuck. I agree with everything you said. They did a great job with the camouflage
I believe when they reveal it it will look very much like a Vette
Very much like a manta Ray lol
Me&wifey said you nailed this one chuck so we thank you buddy take care
Thanks Mr. & Mrs. Watson you guys are awesome 👍🏻👊🏻
It’s good to see you back full at full strength

Once again you’ve knocked it out the park
I was wondering what happened
You kept us up with the ZR1but not with the C-8
You had me worried

Chuck I think you have it right, time will tell, I agree with working the bugs out in the first years. Another informative vlog Thank you,

Great point about the 2017. In April I found a brand new 2016 at over 30% off sticker. Absolutely LOVE it!

Another great video, I was so stoked when I saw my car at the end!
Great video Buddy I’m stoked to see the C8. I’m like you will probably be 4 or 5 years before I hope to get one. Still enjoying my GS for now.

To me if they don't make it AWD they're wasting their time.
Lol so Mclaren are wasting their time aswell! Im so glad the 720 wasnt awd. Other than a quicker 0-30 time it would be a far lesser car.
Hey chuck great video. I like that new c8 body style. I can have a European look and the performance without the European price. I'm like you. 2022 the c8 vette is coming to the house.👊👊 take care.
I love these videos! I need to buy a Corvette soon! Thanks for the content.
I can't wait to finally see the final product. I'm jazzed for the C8.
Great info Chuck.....I will wait for the Wide Body Z06 version of the C8
Chuck, I’m with you. As soon as the C8 comes out and we actually see the car without all of the camo, a majority of folks will get on board. Good points on buying now. I just got a new 2017 Base C7 2LT loaded up with mag ride for 26% under sticker. 52k for a 71k car. Smoking deals out there
When I saw your wife’s GS and the title I laughed and cried briefly.
You had me at " faster than people realize" LOL
That is a sick color combo. Love it!
I am with you the C7 is over as soon as the C8 is released, that is what is great about Corvette or any car they keep changing!!!!!
Soul searching 😂😂. In the end I am always pro Corvette!!
@@Corvettes918 Same here man! I don't care where they put the engine... If it's a new Corvette I'm getting pumped lol.
I never understood why peeps want a front engine, RWD sportscar! Porsche Caymen is the ultimate sports car!
Boomer! Lol
Thanks Brother Sooner!!! 🔴🙌🏻
I hope I do really like the C8, from what I can see so far I’m not digging the design. On the other hand, I’m 100% into my 2019 Z06 3LZ. I’m going to have that car for many years. One thing I wouldn’t do is buy a C8 the first year it’s out, you’re just asking for trouble, lol
For Gods sake, just wait it out if that’s your plans. :)
Once again, Great Video!!
Those are always great events. The ZR1 is so much more impressive in person as you saw. Glad you were out enjoying cars. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻
Great information Chuck, it's not that GM is trying to keep up with the competition it's the other way around, I truly believe the competition is trying to keep up with GM. Completely new body design, less weight, new, even more powerful technological motors. And your right about one thing, these new Corvettes could break some track records.
That grand sport spec is amazing.
I concur with all of your points made.
It could be a dual clutch...but it might also be a torque converter auto. The newest versions of the ZF 8-speeds are absolutely incredible...fast shifts, they can handle a lot of power, etc. The new M5 has one of those I think. The line between the best TC autos and DCs is getting thin.
This is by far my favorite car the collector's edition with the Blue
Love the video Mr. chuck, couldn’t wait to hear your opinion on this!
I’ve been saying it for years....glad you said it as well: “GM is coming!”
Always great content and editing Chuck. You do nice work. Looking forward to your visit with Rick C...
I'm gonna miss the manual if they drop it for the C8. That's what I'll be most sad about
Yeah -- I really want to see manuals live on -- a true drivers car, but with all the real performance benefits too.
Great video as always Chuck :)
geeesss Chuck . I remember when you were at like 400-500 subs . you flew to 24 k . WOW nice job .
👍🏻👊🏻
He does an awesome job!
You are 100% correct Chuck!
I'm still keeping my baby no matter what!!! 😎😎😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I don’t blame you 👍🏻👍🏻
You are exactly right. If it has an engine, it loses value, PERIOD. Have fun with your purchase, stop being only interested in return value.
Great video chuck love the information 👍🏾
Starting to look more like the competition (square with flat sides) rather than that long 'coke bottle' shape like the C7s and C3s. One of the things I really like about the C7 is the similarity (homage) to the C3.
Finally Zora's vision has come to light, a rear engine Corvette how cool is that, I fully understand the reasoning behind mounting the engine in the rear finally the guys at the boardroom level get it and I've noticed people who are bad-mouthing the C8 are probably going to be the first ones to buy one although they claimed they never will, 😎
Great vlog Chuck!
I hope they are still working on the C8, because thus far what I’m seeing from C8 doesn’t look better than the C7
agree 100%. i am not impressed with the C8 body style
I AM LOL
@@MARCUS3XTV we don't even know how it would really look like
Great vid Chuck. Love your channel. Hope you are right about pricing. Corvette will not be the same if it takes 100k for a Stingray.
Chuck... new t-shirts ... “enjoy the machine”... from the mouths of babes comes wisdom!!
Chuck.....I’ll be keeping my 2018 GS until the C8 GS shows up.
GREAT VIDEO CHUCK AND HAVE A BLESSED WEEK
This is good, now I can finally get me a C7 Grandsport for cheap!
ok iam sorry if I am going to offend a lot of my fellow Corvette lovers......but it doesn't say "Corvette" to me this should be a different class by it self and it should have a different name all together
At the end of the day it’s a corvette, it’ll be beautiful just like all the others
It’s just for a video. It’s always a good pricing point. I agree they always low ball most cars .
I knob we will see the C8 in this channel Chuck! This channel is all about excitement!!
