This a great tip for any one making these bracelets. I spent all day on Amazon trying to figure out the best elastic to use in my upcoming project. No one even mention the crimp covers os using glue. Thanks for this great tip. Heading back over to Amazon to pick up those products. thanks for sharing.
You are great at tutorials! This was so clear and easy to understand with clear visibility of what you are doing. Great provision of links as well. Subscribed!
Great ideal wish I known this years ago when my daughter hsd started her jewelry business. My granddaughter is learning now so we will differently use your technique thank you much 🤗
Thank you for this amazing video! I only have the use of my right hand, but your techniques were even easy for me! Very happy to have this information !
Oh thank you! I ordered one of those bead boxes from amazon for my grandbaby and my goodness it took forever. First, I didn't make the string long enough, so there wasn't enough room to tie it and I had to start all over with a longer piece. Then I couldn't get the knot to stay and I tried different types of knots. I finally did get it "more" secure, but don't know how long it will last, lol. Never imagined I'd have so much trouble with something that seemed so simple! That's why I'm here. SO thanks for the tips & products to help.
Hi, thanks for your comment! I'm glad you found this video helpful. At least now you've found a lot of ways that won't work - soon you'll be an expert level stretchy bracelet maker! :)
I really appreciate how you presented your video and how clear you were on your explanation one question though how do you add a pendant to it? thank you so much for sharing 🙏👏👏👏💕❤️
Hi, thanks for your comment! I'm glad you found this video helpful! To add a pendant to a stretch bracelet, I would use a jump ring, probably 8mm size would be best. I hope that helps!
Super helpful video, thank you so much for making and sharing this! I should’ve watched it before I gathered my kids around the table to start making them 😢
I love all your stuff so much!! It’s really helped me grow in my earring making. I have your book! So very helpful! Do you make faux leather bracelets or bigger bead bracelets for adults? If you can link a video you’ve already done for that, I’d be so appreciative. As a retired k teacher, you are a great teacher breaking things down in simple steps to make it easy to understand and do! Thank you! Be blessed. Glo
Hi, Gloria! Thank you so much for your comment. I'm glad you like my earring book! I don't have any other beading videos yet, but I did reply to your email with a few links to beading tutorials on my blog. Thank you again for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it!
Hi Amy, I just discovered heishi bracelets. They look like they would be an easy, fun and relaxing thing to make. Will the C-finding work with the heishi flat bead bracelets? I look forward to watching your other videos. :) Thanks.
Hi, it really depends on the look you are going for. The traditional approach is to knot between semi-precious stones and using something like a silk cord. A more modern approach is to put the semiprecious beads next to each other and wear the bracelets in stacks or layers. It's up to you!
Hi, Brooke! Thanks for your comment. Yes, it can. My daughter makes disc bead bracelets using this stretch cord and the knot/bead crimp technique. If you try it, let me know if you like it!
I loved you tutorial. I purchased two different sizes of fabric covered cord and found they would fray as I tried to string the beads. Also found the 8mm cord too wide for most of the beads I had. I looked in the craft stores and found the bead holes to be too small. So frustrating. The pony beads are adorable but I don't have small children so I would like more adult beads. Can you make a suggestion? Thanks!!
Hi, Rita! I recommend and use the exact cord I show in my video. Its a great size for even the small holes in letter bead and other seed beads. I use size 6/0 seed beads in this project, not pony beads, and the cord fits nicely. Here's the link: amzn.to/3jJqeFY To prevent cord fray, try cutting the cord at an angle. You can also apply some clear nail polish to the cut end and wipe the excess away to "seal" the elastic edge. For really small beads, I'd recommend a beading wire, not an elastic cord. Something like this 7 strand beading wire: amzn.to/3lSppNG For the beading wire above, you'll use crimps and a clasp to finish it off, not tie it in knots. I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, please let me know.
Hello! Had question about Softflex wire. I have heard medium is all purpose, but is the fine one strong enough too. Is that what is used for smaller beads? Or is it best to use medium for durability?
Hi, I don't have a specific guideline by age. I always measure against a child's wrist to be sure. Every wrist is different. :) You can use a crimp bead, but keep in mind some have sharp edges and they can cut into the cord over time. :)
Hi, thanks for your comment! I think it will hold temporarily, but I don't think it will last because crystal cord knots don't last. :( That's why I use the fabric wrapped elastic cord so the knot will stay tight and the glue will hold.
You can use thicker string, but you'll also need larger crimp beads. It isn't necessary to go thicker, though. This cord has a nice weight to it and will work with larger hole beads.
I make elastic bracelets with crystal stretch and also Opelon why even once I use GS glue and let dry I pull to hide the knot and they break???? So annoyed. I also prestretch but don't over stretch. I heard crimp brads can weaken the bracelet? I use to use them.
Hi, Melissa! Thanks for your comment. I think a lot of those cords just can't hold a knot, even with glue. They are too slippery I guess. I think crimp beads can weaken a bracelet if you aren't careful to thread the cord through the little pre-cut channel on each side of the crimp bead. If you miss that channel, then the edges can clamp down on the cord and cut it a little, or all the way through.
Hi, any glass beads are color safe and should work! Also beads that are not painted but are solid color through and through like plastic or acrylic beads should keep their color.
Hi, Georgia! It's an elastic cord. Here are the links to the exact cord I used: Elastic Cord: amzn.to/3qH3N5R (Black and White) Elastic Cord: amzn.to/3l7Jz3Z (White)
You actually don’t need a crimp cover those break down the elastic over time. All you need to do is tie 3/4 knots and slip the knot inside one of the beads
Hi, Paula! All of the materials are listed and linked in the video description. :) Here are the cord links from the description for you: Elastic Cord: amzn.to/3qH3N5R (Black and White) Elastic Cord: amzn.to/3l7Jz3Z (White)
Hi, thanks for your comment! These beads are glass and the letters don't really fade - so no need to seal them. If you're concerned about the paint inside the letters wearing over time, I suggest taking off the bracelets when you shower, swim, etc. :)
Hi, the glue I use in the video and link to in the description is Gorilla Super Glue. But you can use any kind of fast drying liquid super glue you have on hand. :)
This a great tip for any one making these bracelets. I spent all day on Amazon trying to figure out the best elastic to use in my upcoming project. No one even mention the crimp covers os using glue. I want to make a bracelet with semiprecious stones. Would it be better to use a thinner thread and knot between the beads?

Love the video ! What size crimp bead would work on say 20mm beads
Hi, Faith! I would use a large one. I've seen 9mm size on Amazon.
What the name of those beads that you use to close it off .
Hi, they are called Crimp Covers! I have links to the ones I used in the video description for your convenience.

Does that string and c clamp work with silicone beads
I haven't tried it, but I don't see why not!
Can you elastic cord for glass beads?? Thank you!!
Hi, Vincenza! Thanks for your comment. Yes, you can!
@@AmyRomeu Thank you so much for your help! I'm a beginner and your explanation on your videos are very clear!

Hi, was just curios if the elastic is FLAT or ROUND?
Hi, this elastic is round!
I'm sorry this is a weird question...but what color and brand is your nail polish. ;-) Please and thank you... ;-)
Hi, these are actually press on nails I used to wear! The brand is Impress Color but I don't know what the color was, I'm sorry!
Hello! Had question about Softflex wire. I have heard medium is all purpose, but is the fine one strong enough too. Is that what is used for smaller beads? Or is it best to use medium for durability?
Hi, Dolly! It's personal preference, but I like to use the strongest wire that will fit through the beads. I use medium the most myself.
Thanks!! :)
What length do you cut stretch cord for child age 7? Can you use a regular crimp bead? It was pictured on back of my Stretch Magic to do it that way.
Hi, I don't have a specific guideline by age. I always measure against a child's wrist to be sure. Every wrist is different. :) You can use a crimp bead, but keep in mind some have sharp edges and they can cut into the cord over time. :)
Can that gorilla glue be used on elastic (like crystal) cord? x

You don’t have to let the glue dry it will stick to the inside of the crimp bead for added security.

hello nice video, but i can't believe you used crimp beads on stretchy cord,
Hi, thanks for your comment. It works and I was careful not to press the sharp edges of the crimp onto the elastic. :)
How to thread a very tiny hole bead
Have you tried using a magnifying light while you work? That may help. :)
Can I do it without glue??
You can, the glue is just an extra level of protection. :)
@@AmyRomeu oh ok thx
Hard to see. Maybe a darker thread or background would have made it easier?
Thanks for your feedback!
How do you make the letters not fade? Does anyone have any ideas on how to seal them
Hi, thanks for your comment! These beads are glass and the letters don't really fade - so no need to seal them. If you're concerned about the paint inside the letters wearing over time, I suggest taking off the bracelets when you shower, swim, etc. :)
wouldn't it be better if you put the crimp bead on there first opened than put the glue on it so it want stick to your finger
Sounds like a good technique to try! Thanks for your comment.
Just hide your knots inside a bead!! The crimp covers can easily cut thru the elastic cord.
