Hi I have a PS3 Slim and would like to replace the capacitor as well. Can you share what is the item or model number of the capacitor you need for the PS3 slim?
Enjoyed your video, thanks! I followed your video and fixed my PS3, that I bought faulty, for my first repair. Those things are really fn hard to get off! Thought I was going to damage something
Honestly i already changed cap on my ps3 fat. It work for a while, after i trying to update my software the RSX get hot n now it dead. I solve YLOD & now get GLOD. If u really want to repair PLEASE USE SYSCON first to get an error code so u can be sure where the problem came.
Great video just keep it up.Could you tell us a bit more about the red screen that appears on the PS3 and how it is fixed and what is the cause of it? Maybe some video because there is not much about that problem. Thanks.
@@ObliviousTechy Thanks mate, it would be great to make a video with this problem because there is not much information about it.RSOD is the right name of problem.I look forward to the video. All the best.
Hey man, can you please send me the link of where I can buy these capacitor from? I live in Sydney Australia..Jaycar is a good place to go to but I'm not sure which one is the right one. Please help
Hi Jaycar doesn't have the necessary capacitors. And couldn't find anywhere in Australia. I ordered them from AliExpress and arrived to Melbourne in about a month.
@@ObliviousTechy All good bro, I ordered from Aliexpress. I have an issue with another ps3 though, it turns on but no signal what so ever I've tried to hold down the power button to hear the beep to reset, it won't happen it just switches off. Do you have any idea what it could be?
Hi, I followed your tutorial for replacing caps in PS3 slim, and encountered a slight problem... So after soldering the caps(caps below the mobo) I tried to turn it on. It turns green for 3 seconds then turns yellow to red light. Then I tried to turn it on again but no light showed this time. What should I do? What I have done: Used caps: 330uf 2.5v D Replaced 2 nec caps below the mobo near RSX and also no jumper wire connected.
Does this actually permanently fix the YLOD issue? Or does just simply increase reliability? I'm thinking of rebuying a PS3 since my old YLOD back in 2011.
Hi can you send the link for the capacitors please?? I have a ps3 60gb model and he shut down on heavy games only. Sorry for my English please help me if you can
I have a ps3 slim upon changing the hard is showing an error code (8002F2F0). I really don't know what to do again. Pls is there any way you can be of help pls??
when I plug in my ps3 the power red light is too long to show up but when the red light is show up my ps3 working very well when I turn it on what is the solution for my showing up the red light immediately
Is not a permanent fix tho, the new capacitors will fail again eventually, a friend of mine did the same thing to a PS3 fat and slim models, they only lasted like 3 months, plus you can kill your console for applying too much heat to the motherboard if you fix the same issue over and over again

Hi I used 2.5Volt 330 Micro Farad tantalum capacitors.

Bravo ☺️
If you're using 330uf 2.5v, why only used 3? The psx place guide said you should use 4, help me with this.

Do you know if this will work with chec 2001a, also where did you get the capacitors? I can't seem to find them.
There is a link in the description to see if your model is compatible and I just added the AliExpress link to the capacitors.

@@clementmashala8134 u mean I need to replace all capacitors I'd installed? so the board and the PSU are not dead yet?
@@chococornets6985 Replace all the nec caps. I don't suspect that the PSU is faulty. Replace all nec caps and put a jumper also.
@@clementmashala8134 only the old NEC caps? not the ones I recently installed? I suspect that one of those are shorted.

Nope, this is how you solve YLOD. Perma fix.
@@BeinZilex you are very right. That's what my PS3 suffers from.
Is it alright to use 470uf tantalum capacitors instead of 330uf?
On Slim 2000 Series? Better stick with 330s, but make sure U measure them, before U perform the mod ... Cheers
hi friend, just to see how it works, I can do the test to put 4 electrolytic capacitors of 330uf 25v on NEC / TOKIN 03 108

Any tips on making a PS3 read 💿 again?
I'm so sorry I wish I could help but I haven't had any experience with faulty disk drives :/
you probably need to buy a new disc drive
Mostly the laser lens fails and you need to replace it.
I never knew that was possible 😳
Nec/Tokin capacitors to tantulum capacitors right?
Yes correct.
Will it be ylod once again? (sorry bad English)
Not likely. The new capacitors are much better than the old ones which have problems with use.
Is not a permanent fix tho, the new capacitors will fail again eventually, a friend of mine did the same thing to a PS3 fat and slim models, they only lasted like 3 months, plus you can kill your console for applying too much heat to the motherboard if you fix the same issue over and over again
Kalo pake tantalum 470 apa bisa?
Shout out to the channel "My Mate VINCE" for coming up with this fix more than a year ago!
well, actually even VInce is just following the guide from psx forum.
