As a New Yorker i can vouch for this video, the end of the video is breathe taking. In New York the buildings are packed so close together, the streets are smaller so it feels crowded and congested, you cant walk out of a subway station and appreciate the architectural design like China has done.

I’ve been to NY on nov 2023 and in march 2024 I went to China. All this dude is saying is true, they are living in a distant future. I have traveled 7 places all over China, including Shanghai, and found no homeless or drunk crazy people on the streets like NY. On the big cities there are many jewelries stores on the streets, like Cartier, Rolex, the luxury is insane. Never felt any fear, it’s all extremely safe. Going to many isolated places, like mountains in the countryside and still getting internet on the phone, even when traveling in the fast train across everywhere, even on the deepest sub ground. If this is communism, so I guess communism is doing a great job.

When I was in Russia last year, the metros were also very clean and modern with no homeless hanging about. Some were beutiful with amazing sculptures and murals.

I am Canadian and I have worked in Shanghai for more than 10 years . I feel safe walking in the middle of night alone as female in Shanghai . But I feel unsafe walking in some of the downtowns in the Sates like SF , even in the daytime.

As a Hakka-Indonesian, I used to hold Australia / Singapore in a very high regard. Both were also where I am very likely to send my kids for future education. After seeing this, I may very well have to adjust my plan and send them to Guangzhou / Shenzhen instead. Things seem to come full circle now. My great grandparent and grandparent left Guangdong to escape chaotic poverty-stricken China right around the demise of Qing dynasty. It is now time for my offspring to return and contribute to their true motherland, China. 😀

I'm Indonesian, and I previously studied and worked in the US, both in the East and West Coast. It actually saddened me how little many Americans knew about the world outside the US. Few I talked to didn't even know where Indonesia is or simply confused it with India or thought Indonesia and Malaysia are the same country. I can vouch that the new subway and airport in our capital city, Jakarta, are many decades ahead design wise, safer, brighter, much cleaner, with zero graffiti and no unbearable stench than any of those in New York. You won't see homeless people, addicts and piles of trash in our city parks, unlike those around the highly romanticized Central Park.
Don't feel bad about it because many Americans don't even know their own country well. There used to be a tv show that would interview people on the street and i remember seeing one person says Texas is a country, and the other Canada is part of America. What else can you expect?

It gives them hope knowing China was a poor country just 40 years ago and were able to left itself -- a country of 1.4 billion people -- out of poverty, turned their economy around, took 850 million people out of poverty, build massive world class cities with modern infrastructure and created the world's largest, most wealthy middle class of the 21st century. It's one reason why 166 countries in the world are members of China's Belt & Road Initiative. If you haven't figured it out yet, China has a passion and love for building infrastructure the same way America loves to build weapons. I was just in China, during October, for the first time in my life and I can honestly tell you that as an American I was embarrassed for my country. The subways and stations are incredibly clean, graffiti free, the people were nice and I travelled everywhere with no fear for my safety. I watched one video on here that talked about how the high speed trains were losing money and I'm not sure how they can say that. I rode those trains 10 times while I was there and they were filled to capacity almost every time. They are hands down the way to travel China.
In fact, china's subway is indeed losing money because of the high cost and low fare, but this is borne by the government. But excellent transportation can drive the surrounding economy, so that people can work and live more comfortably and efficiently, and the people's economy improves, so that there can be more tax revenue to feed back to the government, which is a virtuous circle. A private company like the one in the US, if it is not profitable, simply cannot spend a lot of money to build a good subway

I lived in various states of America for 3 years. I had the opportunity to visit Chong Qing in China as my daughter went to work there for a year. China was shocking and it is at least 20 years in advance of America, whilst USA is going backwards. If Americans could see China they would feel betrayed by their government.

One of my clients often travels to China for business. She comes back with incredible photos. The first thing that strikes me as a Central European is the amazing cleanliness and order. It's like showing screenshots from a video game.

I went to China last month, the same city that was talked about here , exactly the same of what the video showed. Very impressed and when I come back to silicon valley in Northern CA several days ago, i felt depressed as there was practically no change in transportation infrastructure since I came to CA 27 years ago. What's going on with this rich nation?
The most surprising thing to me is the highest level of safety, extreme orderliness and impeccable cleanliness in all the cities in China despite humongous population that made China such a SCI-Fi like quintessential modern human civilization. How did China achieve this state of the nation is my never ending puzzle. Is it leadership or is it follwership? A new curriculum should be commisioned in political science study to deeply understand and teach college students the fundamentals of modern communist systems and how to efficiently practice socialist capitalism to leap frog human civilization across the world. The urgency and necessity of significantly advancing the quality of lives of global citizens should NOT be about idealogical competition between western democracy and socialism, it should be about the copying and pasting the proven systems that sustainably works for the good of the common man in broad sense.
How? It's called Communism done the right way. Back in the day the Chinese leaders watched and learned both the mistakes the USSR made and the US made and created their own way of development for the country by keeping China communist while making it the center of all global production. Almost everything in the world has been made in China for the past 20 years. That's where China gets the money from. Meanwhile the communist government strictly controls everything, therefore there are no huge greedy corporations like in the US or corruption like in the third world countries. Also, China doesn't go to wars with other countries, so instead of wasting money on wars and military it invests it into technology and improving its infrastructure.
If you really want to understand, I'm afraid it's more complicated, the starting point of the story at least from the Qin Dynasty, so it will be a very long story

I lived in Nanjing china from the ages of 6-11, (Left in 2016) living in outskirts of the city I always remember taking train to the city with my family every once in a while, it was always clean and amazing. Crazy how much it has changed, when I lived there you would get a little blue coin and insert through gates but seeing you with phone and camera thing is crazy.

If you know China's history, you'll get impressed by this truly, just shy a century ago, the Qing dynasty had just collapsed, warlords took over and fought bunch of nasty wars, foreign powers engulfed China, Sino-Japanese wars etc. China was doomed and dark during that time. Then until 1949 when today's China is founded where things begin to stabilize. It took them only 74 years to become like this

After the border between Hong Kong and the mainland was reopened, I went to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen. The subway in Hong Kong used to be a bit more advanced than the mainland. But now I always go "wow" in many places on the mainland, incl。 subways and shopping malls. I guess I looked like someone from a rural village visiting a big city, haha.
Do I have the same feeling? No. I live in HK, I lived in Beijing for 10 years, and I work in Shanghai now. If you say riding the subway in Beijing and Shanghai is a better experience than in Hong Kong, that is a joke bar none.

In American culture, cities are considered a negative thing and Americans tend to move to the bland generic suburbs. Last year, I visited St. Louis and was surprised that it was pretty much a ghost town in many parts. Same with Memphis and a bunch of other cities in the Midwest and the southern states. They tried to expand the small subway system in Atlanta and had a vote. The people voted no. Americans especially conservatives do not favor public transportation and prefer car culture even if the traffic is terrible

Really Amazing. I think here in US they don’t like to talk about all the great architecture that is in China, they don’t want to talk about the mega cities and modernization because it doesn’t fit the narrative on how "China is bad ". They try to make China seem like it’s all rice fields and poverty. They need to show this to the population and see if their view of China doesn’t change then. Reality is here in US we have tons of bums, social disorder and outdated cities and infrastructure. My guess is they don’t want the people here in US to realize what they have been missing so people can revel in past glory and not be innovative and this is why they don't look to the future. One thing I noticed immediately is in China you don’t see bums everywhere and the floors are heavily polished and clean. When looking at the people walking and commuting you don’t see the women with tattoos everywhere with blue hair, shaved heads, hairy armpits and bars through their noses looking like bulls. Another thing I noticed on many videos is the absence of obese hogs walking around. Here in US it’s normal to see hogs anywhere you go and if you are in shape you are viewed as "abnormal".

hey burger king. ex new yorker here living in shandong, rizhao for ten years. love your videos dude. i wish more people saw what china is really like and your videos, i'm sure are helping. rizhao isn't even that big of a city. but in the last 10 years i've seen so many changes. most of the skyline wasn't here when i arrived. i coulnd't tell you how many new hospitals and schools they have built because there are too many for me to count. when a new neighborhood gets built, they build those things around it. there are malls popping up everywhere as well. they've built an airport a high speed rail station, and the east station is set to open in 2025, i actually just got a new apartment across the street from it.they've also built an aquarium, and they have a water park that's under construction. theres also a fleet of electric powered buses as well, the old ones are being phased out. back in nyc people are paying 2k a month to live in prewar buildings. nothing is changing for the better over there.

As a New Yorker i can vouch for this video, the end of the video is breathe taking. In New York the buildings are packed so close together, the streets are smaller so it feels crowded and congested, you cant walk out of a subway station and appreciate the architectural design like China has done.

I’ve been to NY on nov 2023 and in march 2024 I went to China. All this dude is saying is true, they are living in a distant future. I have traveled 7 places all over China, including Shanghai, and found no homeless or drunk crazy people on the streets like NY. On the big cities there are many jewelries stores on the streets, like Cartier, Rolex, the luxury is insane. Never felt any fear, it’s all extremely safe. Going to many isolated places, like mountains in the countryside and still getting internet on the phone, even when traveling in the fast train across everywhere, even on the deepest sub ground. If this is communism, so I guess communism is doing a great job.

As a Hakka-Indonesian, I used to hold Australia / Singapore in a very high regard. Both were also where I am very likely to send my kids for future education. After seeing this, I may very well have to adjust my plan and send them to Guangzhou / Shenzhen instead.
Things seem to come full circle now. My great grandparent and grandparent left Guangdong to escape chaotic poverty-stricken China right around the demise of Qing dynasty. It is now time for my offspring to return and contribute to their true motherland, China. 😀

I'm Indonesian, and I previously studied and worked in the US, both in the East and West Coast. It actually saddened me how little many Americans knew about the world outside the US. Few I talked to didn't even know where Indonesia is or simply confused it with India or thought Indonesia and Malaysia are the same country. I can vouch that the new subway and airport in our capital city, Jakarta, are many decades ahead design wise, safer, brighter, much cleaner, with zero graffiti and no unbearable stench than any of those in New York. You won't see homeless people, addicts and piles of trash in our city parks, unlike those around the highly romanticized Central Park.
Don't feel bad about it because many Americans don't even know their own country well. There used to be a tv show that would interview people on the street and i remember seeing one person says Texas is a country, and the other Canada is part of America. What else can you expect?

I was just in China, during October, for the first time in my life and I can honestly tell you that as an American I was embarrassed for my country. The subways and stations are incredibly clean, graffiti free, the people were nice and I travelled everywhere with no fear for my safety. I watched one video on here that talked about how the high speed trains were losing money and I'm not sure how they can say that. I rode those trains 10 times while I was there and they were filled to capacity almost every time. They are hands down the way to travel China.
In fact, china's subway is indeed losing money because of the high cost and low fare, but this is borne by the government. But excellent transportation can drive the surrounding economy, so that people can work and live more comfortably and efficiently, and the people's economy improves, so that there can be more tax revenue to feed back to the government, which is a virtuous circle. A private company like the one in the US, if it is not profitable, simply cannot spend a lot of money to build a good subway

I lived in various states of America for 3 years. I had the opportunity to visit Chong Qing in China as my daughter went to work there for a year. China was shocking and it is at least 20 years in advance of America, whilst USA is going backwards. If Americans could see China they would feel betrayed by their government.

Very impressed and when I come back to silicon valley in Northern CA several days ago, i felt depressed as there was practically no change in transportation infrastructure since I came to CA 27 years ago. The most surprising thing to me is the highest level of safety, extreme orderliness and impeccable cleanliness in all the cities in China despite humongous population that made China such a SCI-Fi like quintessential modern human civilization. How did China achieve this state of the nation is my never ending puzzle. Is it leadership or is it follwership? A new curriculum should be commisioned in political science study to deeply understand and teach college students the fundamentals of modern communist systems and how to efficiently practice socialist capitalism to leap frog human civilization across the world. The urgency and necessity of significantly advancing the quality of lives of global citizens should NOT be about idealogical competition between western democracy and socialism, it should be about the copying and pasting the proven systems that sustainably works for the good of the common man in broad sense.

Back in the day the Chinese leaders watched and learned both the mistakes the USSR made and the US made and created their own way of development for the country by keeping China communist while making it the center of all global production. Almost everything in the world has been made in China for the past 20 years. That's where China gets the money from. Meanwhile the communist government strictly controls everything, therefore there are no huge greedy corporations like in the US or corruption like in the third world countries. Also, China doesn't go to wars with other countries, so instead of wasting money on wars and military it invests it into technology and improving its infrastructure.

I lived in Nanjing china from the ages of 6-11, (Left in 2016) living in outskirts of the city I always remember taking train to the city with my family every once in a while, it was always clean and amazing. Crazy how much it has changed, when I lived there you would get a little blue coin and insert through gates but seeing you with phone and camera thing is crazy.

If you know China's history, you'll get impressed by this truly, just shy a century ago, the Qing dynasty had just collapsed, warlords took over and fought bunch of nasty wars, foreign powers engulfed China, Sino-Japanese wars etc. China was doomed and dark during that time. Then until 1949 when today's China is founded where things begin to stabilize. It took them only 74 years to become like this

After the border between Hong Kong and the mainland was reopened, I went to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen. The subway in Hong Kong used to be a bit more advanced than the mainland. But now I always go "wow" in many places on the mainland, incl。 subways and shopping malls. I guess I looked like someone from a rural village visiting a big city, haha.

In American culture, cities are considered a negative thing and Americans tend to move to the bland generic suburbs. Last year, I visited St. Louis and was surprised that it was pretty much a ghost town in many parts. Same with Memphis and a bunch of other cities in the Midwest and the southern states. They tried to expand the small subway system in Atlanta and had a vote. The people voted no. Americans especially conservatives do not favor public transportation and prefer car culture even if the traffic is terrible

Really Amazing. I think here in US they don’t like to talk about all the great architecture that is in China, they don’t want to talk about the mega cities and modernization because it doesn’t fit the narrative on how "China is bad ". They try to make China seem like it’s all rice fields and poverty. They need to show this to the population and see if their view of China doesn’t change then.
Reality is here in US we have tons of bums, social disorder and outdated cities and infrastructure. My guess is they don’t want the people here in US to realize what they have been missing so people can revel in past glory and not be innovative and this is why they don't look to the future.
One thing I noticed immediately is in China you don’t see bums everywhere and the floors are heavily polished and clean. When looking at the people walking and commuting you don’t see the women with tattoos everywhere with blue hair, shaved heads, hairy armpits and bars through their noses looking like bulls. Another thing I noticed on many videos is the absence of obese hogs walking around. Here in US it’s normal to see hogs anywhere you go and if you are in shape you are viewed as "abnormal".

hey burger king. ex new yorker here living in shandong, rizhao for ten years. love your videos dude. i wish more people saw what china is really like and your videos, i'm sure are helping. rizhao isn't even that big of a city. but in the last 10 years i've seen so many changes. most of the skyline wasn't here when i arrived. i coulnd't tell you how many new hospitals and schools they have built because there are too many for me to count. when a new neighborhood gets built, they build those things around it. there are malls popping up everywhere as well. they've built an airport a high speed rail station, and the east station is set to open in 2025, i actually just got a new apartment across the street from it.they've also built an aquarium, and they have a water park that's under construction. theres also a fleet of electric powered buses as well, the old ones are being phased out. back in nyc people are paying 2k a month to live in prewar buildings. nothing is changing for the better over there.
