Toby Fox designed sans battle to be a hard fight. He is the main protagonist that judges you for doing genocide. He's the judge in all of this. Without Sans who can really judge the human? if nobody else will remember and frisk or Chara kills everyone. Sans might of been the only reason undertale became popular. Not saying the other characters are not important. I like papyrus too! But just think for a moment what undertale would be like if Sans was never a character. This is probably a impossible timeline or alternate universe where Toby fox does not get the idea of sans. And even if sans was replaced by someone, sans did the best job as a judge. @@2_OP Seems like a deliberate understatement. Difficulty's not in memorizing each segment, it's the length of the battle that can make it hard to get through. Naturally, any situation with many variables (i.e. the length of the battle and how many turns it has) is easier to mess up, translating to more opportunities for you to get slapped. It takes some practice to get through easily because the execution is the main problem.
@@vito6197 it's really overrated. It's not hard to memorize the order of the attacks, and the timing isn't too hard to master either. Yeah, in the first few attempts, he's hard to beat, but outside of that, he's not really hard to beat. Yeah, it's challenging to the point where you have to be good to beat it in the first couple of attempts, but it's not hard to the point where it should be making you ragequit.
He gets into it so much it's beautiful. I love the part on Heartache where it goes to that high note and just *_wails_* and ohhhh man, that's the stuff.
