    I bought the 5 and 6.5 versions. Truly sleeper snare drums. Both worth much more than I paid. I put S hoops and 13" snare wires on both, for more sensitivity. I would put them up against snares costing 10 times as much, with the upgrades. There's magic in those shells.

    I just bought this bad muther and im impressed it gives me some Ludwig supraphonic and black beauty feel and sound hell im gonna buy more snares from gretsch now im awfuly curious but Ive used it and it cuts thru the wash of sound clear

      I believe those come stock with a Remo Permatone head that they make for Gretsch.

    I love Gretsch, but this is the exact same drum as the Taylor Hawkins snare. I assume the only difference, other than the badge, is the choice of heads they use.

      Your right, I think was a way to rebrand the drum since they don’t make the Taylor Hawkins model anymore. Specs are the same.

      They've had variations of this drum for years before the hawkins. Old versions had DC hoops

      Lol, no my friend. All the breakdown videos are updated to keep you in the loop on all new releases as they come out. Hopefully one day I can get to a point where I’m getting sent gear where all the breakdowns actually feature the product.
