But as others have pointed out the subtitles are actually horrendous and definitely give the wrong impression about jiraiya :( He was introduced as the typical "pervert" trope found pretty often in older anime, but he's actually a pretty cool character that you'll enjoy after all. Also don't worry even though the pervert trope will continue pretty heavily in the beginning with him it gradually gets less as he becomes a more fleshed out character. When I first watched this over a decade ago, what he told Naruto was that he has absolutely no body fat, how does he do it. Now he is calling him sexy. Not only is it disgusting but it goes against Jiraiya's character. In the entire series, he has never been shown to be interested in underage girls or boys.

Naruto is stupid because shadow clone jutsu is a forbidden jutsu. Unlike substitution jutsu that simply replaces oneself with another object, animate or inanimate, shadow clone is basically diving your own chakra into half and creating a mirror image. It’s useful because ocular jutsus like Sharingan of Sasuke or Byakugan of Neji cannot tell the clone apart from the real body since they share the same amount of jutsu. However having 4 clones mean sharing your chakra with 4 bodies. And when those clones pop/disappear, you experience what they experienced while they were apart from the real body. This is a pro and a con. You can read two books at the same time but also any pain you receive as a clone also comes back to the real body. So Naruto doing battle royale with himself is going to feel all those kicks and punches but yes, it’s going to quickly drain his chakra which is what he wanted.
So I feel you, and Ima try to not spoil nothing (cuz technically this is shippuden knowledge) but I was thinking about that the other day or last week when I watched this episode w a homie I’m trying to put onto Naruto, and I realized “damn he’s really beating his own ass forreal” 😂😂
I think it’s still god humor it’s making fun out of acting like a pervert if anything it’s sending the message that it’s weird to be a perv. Simple minds just see him acting like a perv and go oh no a pervert but when u notice how the perverts are treated in the show u see that it is in fact not in support of perverts at all. Majority of people and kids in the show condemn it every chance they get teaching the generation of kids watching that this behavior is weird. Very well could have helped kids identify adults acting weird towards them and were more inclined to get a trusted adult to intervene.

Orochimaru put another seal on top of the one sealing the Nine tails. It was disrupting his chakra flow. So he released it. Helped a lot.
