AMEN! Lots of people forget that dogs sweat by panting so beagles only usually need brushing to get rid of excess hair. And beagles love to be brushed, so it becomes a treat for them. Thanks for all the helpful stuff you post. LATER!!!

My beagles are mixed with Australian Shepherd so their hair gets long and ' boy' do they she'd even with regular brushing. Which is the only issue I have with them. They're pretty well behaved.

I have a French bulldog beagle cross and I’m looking to thin out his coat a little because he loves water. His coat stays wet for hours behind the head and in between his shoulders plus base of the tail as it’s longer than most other places on him.
Would I be fine to thin out the places that where the fur is thickest for the summer ?

Take him to your vet and get him checked for a skin infection or it could be some allergy also.
